  1. Jerry22m, You might want to consider waiting a little longer. Klipsch is about to release a new line of speakers, that are said to combine the attributes of both the Legend and Reference series speakers. Check out this topic at the Home Theater Forum on this Bulletin Board: Klipsch annouces 14 NEW products at CES!

  2. Dougdrake, BOTH selected on the Yamaha will send bass to sub and mains, when LARGE is selected for mains. When SMALL is selected for mains all bass is sent to sub no matter what is selected via the SW/MAIN/BOTH menu.

Tangman99, If you don't mind me asking, how did you reach the decision to purchase the b ose system? Did you audition/compare anything else?

  3. Bobg, PhilH,

I would be much obliged, if you could give me the date when Uncles became unauthorized. Reason being a buddy of mine purchased Quintets and a KSW12 about a month ago.

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe T

  4. Weiming, At the least they're close cousins !! S/N 29W130 and 131.

    Klipschguy,

I have them placed in the "living room" 11' apart on a wall 12' wide, about 2" from the wall and they're not cornered. The room is 14.5" long with a 9' ceiling. I'm going to move them into the basement in the near future. Unless, I can talk my wife into losing one of the two couches in the "living room" smile.gif. But I'll probally still set the Corns up, in a room in the basement. Its 16.5' wide, length 17.5', 7' ceiling and 3 good corners.

I was and still will, (just not as often), use my modest HT setup: Klipsch KSB1.1 fronts, KSC-C1 center, Rebel KSS-3 sub/sat rears and KSW12 front sub.

    Benny,

LOL's I personally think 2 Corns will get it done. Cooking time will vary depending on source material and choice of amplification (tubes or solid state).

By the way when I came home from work yesterday, I was pleasntly suprised to see that my wife loaded the CD and DVD changers with some of her favorite CD's and was listening to them. Maybe it wont be that hard to get her to let that couch go afterall. smile.gif

Proud to be welcomed into the Cornwall club,

  5. Life is good, seller delivered my Cornwalls tonite. Corns are in excellent shape. The seller actually became annoyed when I connected them to Yamaha HT receiver and he recommended several amps. I assured him it was temporary. First impression, the Cornwalls have knock you off your chair onto your a** dynamics, played some familiar music and heard nuances I hadn't heard before. Thanks again for your replies.

  6. Try Uncles stereo in Manhattan (800)978-6253.

I beleive you'll have a warranty if you purchase at the store. Maybe someone at KLipsch can clear this up? Forget the Wiz their crooks.

  7. Pete C,

3 Cornwall's take up lots of real estate. I haven't decided if i will incoporate them into my HT system or jump into this 2 channel tube craze. First I wont beleive I have them, till I have them. Can't wait until Friday night.

  8. Thanks for the replies guys. I took the plunge($700 "buy it now" off ebay, delivered). The seller is located 90 miles from me in Poughkeepsie NY, that peaked my interest. I had made arrangements to pick up the Cornwalls on this coming Friday, informed the seller and thats when I got lucky, the seller told me he was coming to Brooklyn on that Friday to visit his daughter, and he would drop the Corns off at my house. By the way he has a single Cornwall in walnut, if anyone is interested feel free to contact me. Sellers reason for letting them go, he's relocating from a house in Poughkeepsie to an apartment in the Bronx.

  9. I was having a problem with my Klipsch Rebel powered subwoofer over the last couple of weeks, the on/off auto power function was getting erratic. Sometimes it would work and sometimes the power indicator (LED) would dim and the sub wouldn't work. Today the sub quit on me totally. The warranty on the electronics expired a couple of years ago. I decided to price out a replacement amplifier ($196) and a replacment sub KSW10 ($238). After pricing, I called 1-800-KLIPSCH, that's when I had the good fortune to speak to Trey "loose" Cannon. I described the sub problem to Trey and he stated it was probally a defective capacitor. Trey explained in detail the location of the bad cap on the PCB, the value and the caps function in the circuit. Armed with this great info, I picked up a cap and installed it. Low and behold problem gone. The cap cost me a buck ! and it took about 15 minutes to install. Needless to say, Trey made my day ! Customer service of this caliber is hard, if not impossible to find these days and another reason to buy Klipsch products. THANKS again Trey !!

  10. Can't offer you a comparison, anyway here are the specs for the KSS-2 Rebel satellites:

    BANDWIDTH: 115hz-20khz

    SENSITIVITY: 93db @ 1watt/1meter

    NOMINAL IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms

POWER HANDLING: 65watts (260 watts peak)

ENCLOSURE TYPE: Horn Loaded, 2 way system

    XOVER FREQ: 2100hz

    WEIGHT: 4lbs

    HEIGHT: 8.5"

    WIDTH: 5.75"

    DEPTH: 5.25"

  11. I had a similar problem when I connected my KSW12 using a Monster cable. Believe it or not, the cable I was using had arrows printed on it, that should point away from the receiver and to the subwoofer, it made a significant difference in my case, although I can't believe or convince myself that the Monster cable is actually directional. I guess I'll try it again one of these days.

  12. At $300 I think it will be tough to find something that will outperform the KSW12. I have one and have not had any trouble with it. I'm happy with its output and sound quality. Some posters on this board feel it performs better for home theater than it does for music. Let me add, I have only had longterm experince with the KSW12 and a Klipsch K-RSW(part of a sub/sat system). If you can, visit some local dealers and audition as many different subs as possible.

    Happy Hunting

  13. Took a look at the KSW10 manual it has line level inputs and speaker level inputs. However, it DOES NOT have speaker level outputs (pass through). The KSW12 and KSW15 do have speaker level outputs (pass through). As boa12 stated the subs internal amp only powers the subs driver.
