  1. hi folks Just thought i would mention the A 402 on Ebay was one of the nicest 40w/ch amps going Dual power supplies,.all discreet inside. ALso ,there.. a very well maintained CIT 16/a all black with LED's and VERY clean inside. and a very real 165w/ch cheers,.. Rob
  2. my next addition clean and simple: Klipschorns in rosewood if you please! will look awesome in either corner of the wall that has the fireplace in our new house if they still sound as they did in 82 when i bought my cornwalls. no question ! BTW...i never considered the cornwall to be a compromise,..just something different. each system has it's + & -. and oh yea,..still trying to find a last genration H/K cit 16a..in black...for the horns.. that's it...that's all rob
  3. Finally !! I see someone on ebay , has a Citation 16A for sale.. Not just a citation 16 but the all black Citation with the "a" prefix. (the early ones were part silver on the bottom part of the faceplate) And not as stable....im told Does any one know of a good "reputable" connection for these amps...as i am finding outthis model is really hard to come by Besides the one i had,..(whick was stolen) I have only seen one other, same model.... and it is in a rack room at a local recording studio,..powering the tweeters in their westlake monitors even the one in the pic is not exactly the same,..as mine had relay output protection which means,..this one on ebay must have been the second last yr of production,..not the last...like mine? BUT guys,..for a solid state amp,..it is so close to the tube amps that h/k and mac were famous for!!! And if you ever go biamp,..try a Mac on you bottom end and the Cit 16 on the top match that with Klipsch hertitage.. "yum" anyway's...i preciate your help thanx rob
  4. Today,..in my normal daily look on to ebay,..i noticed 4 pairs of horns for sale it got me to thinking about a few things 1)it is the most "pairs" i have ever seen for sale at one time ,..on there 2)i hope all of this is because the folks that are selling, do not have room ,or something,..for the speakers. And not because of all this heritage postings and concern about the future of the heritage line,../driver availability etc..... i though about this,..before i went to do this post.. and.... i sold my cornwalls a few yrs back,..due to space ...or lack of it.. i regret that now,.. But still plan to go full steam ahead as soon as the house is done, and get my horns like i said in a earlier post,..i have seen drivers been changed before.. i mean...it happened just before i bought the Cornwalls,...the woofers were different than the floor sample at the store. But...that sound was still there... and lets give the engineers some credit with the change in tweeters again,.."perhaps something new will be discovered. sometimes good things come from a change it worked before... like i said... a 9' Steinway is still a Steinway. regardless of what parts they use inside it still has that awesome sound and...still a benchmark! rob
  5. guys...... I have seen Klipsch go through driver changes before...and i have yet to notice, ..from a musical perspective..any change in the heritage line...sonically Just before i purchased my 81" Cornwalls, they changed the woofer And after i had them for a while, they came out with larger tweeters and everything was front mounted.. Yet....that sound was still there It's just like....., A, 9' Steinway is allways a Steinway. It still has that BIG soundboard and quality Regardless of what parts they use. So CHILL....everythings gonna be fine WASN'T IT PWK HIMSELF WHO MADE A REFERENCE TO DRIVERS AND SELECTION SOMETHING ABOUT CATGUT AND WHO CARES WHICH CAT IT CAME FROM,..BUT ONLY MATTERS THAT THE STRINGS ON THE VIOLIN STILL SOUND LIKE A STRADAVARIUS?? i do have a question while im here though In regards to finish Im just about to taking the plunge into a set of cornerhorns.. 1) is the finishing still as nice as the "80's" models that were made 2) when i heard the klipschorns at the dealers house,..these models were in rosewood...with black grilles can you still order the custom finishes. or is that just a "great memory" of the past and everything is now the oiled walnut with black grilles ?? mind you..the walnut with black is still outstanding to see.. HAPPY SAILING Rob

  7. BIGGEST mistake i ever made (sound wise) was selling my cornwalls ! I would be in the "line" if the company decided to produce a "model of cornwall once more... and providing that they still had that "sound".... But somehow i have my doubts Rob B
