  1. Thanks for info Brad, I didn't remember reading that anywhere, Yes its hard to see any filters. The team did a great job, IMO, you guys have put out a product thats at the top of the universal PM chain. AudioAdrenaline
  2. The Image comes with Sm,Md, and Lrg oval shaped silicone gel tips w/the medium ones installed. For me, my left ear is shaped funny so Im having a hard time getting a good seal, even the large ones dont work in my left ear. The only tips that work for me are the Bi-flange tips, all others are too small for my left ear. The silicone tips are comfortable and soft, they have an oval shape but are pretty similar to other tips on the market. Isolation is similar as others, comparable to Shure and Etymotics. Size of the drivers barrel is small, about 50% smaller in diameter compared to Er4ps. The nozzle (no filter in nozzle) is short and stubby (wide sort of the size of the E2cs) but I find that I can place my dark grey Shure tips on them. The drivers barrel is made of aluminum w/gold paint, the name Klipsch on one side and the Klipsch emblem on the other side. When you place the drivers in your ears, they go deep in my ear and disappear, as I look directly at my face in the mirror, theyre barely noticeable. The wire used is very small, the only Pms Ive own that would be similar, would be the Senns CX300, but the outer jacket I would say is a little tougher and the wire seem to be strong. Each wire come down (w/a black plastic piece, so you can adjust the slack under your chin) into a Y shape piece holding them together and becoming one single wire that goes down to a 3.5 mm 45 degree plug ( that has the same shape as the drivers ( sort of a short J shape). Noise from the wire is low (well designed). Now on to the Sound: On my first impressions, I listened to the Image thru My Iaudio X5L and Porta Corda Move via 75ohm adapter, which gave it an impressive sound, but for this review I decided to use my X5L only. To me the Image has a warm sound, the high are not overly bright. Treble is smooth with slight extension (not rolled). Midrange is where I think the Image excels, Vocals, guitars, organs ,piano, electro synthesized sounds, it does well. The Image also plays the low end well, which is pretty impressive, considering its size, but the low end is not overpowering. Like I reported on my initial thread, I like the Image, I find them fun at times immersing me in music, with a large soundstage and life like vocals. It also offer the listener with a small form factor, allowing you to lay down and enjoy your music. Just realize, if you lay down with them in your ears: Im not responsible for any damage. Enjoy! 3. If they're anything like me, uh-yea! LOL, I keep checking the sight like a Jukie[]!!
  4. I received my Images today well packed in a box about 4x as big as the actual PM box. Box is Brown covered with a clear package the same shape as the PM box, but larger. You can see the Brown box inside the clear plastic package, the Brown box has a clear plastic window that shows the images sitting in a plastic mold inside the box. You already know what comes in the package so I'll just go straight to the sound. The Images are well balance over the complete sound spectrum, extended highs w/pratt, good mid, w/full mid bass and lows. It hard to imagine Professor Thump getting it any better than this (Custom-3s), I'm truly impressed. My initial impression are very positive and I'll add more after I spend some more time with them. Congrats Professor Thump, I'm sure you have a winner here! AudioAdrenaline
  5. That was 9hours and 40minute after anthonyfirst post up there. I'm not sure, at least 60hours (at least!) so far.
  6. 9 Hours and 49 minutes later Head-fi is still down! This is unusual, hopefully it will be up soon so I can see the new Sponsor (Klipsch). Sunday evening is a fun day for me []. AudioAdrenaline
  7. I have made a pact that I will not dis the competition. We are all in this together making better music each year. But when it comes to the ER4P's this is a highly respected model that has stood the test of time as a single armature. When you compare them the first thing you will notice is that the IMAGE is much smaller in diameter...by almost 50%. This means that small ears will have a better chance of a perfect fit. Mead Killion from Etymotic (pronounced with a long "o" as in the word "mode") has developed the ER4P to be flat to the ear with a 5 dB rolloff in the HF. This is to emulate a speaker in a room with carpeting. Mr. Killion is one of the most respected people in the audiology community, and well deserved of that respect. When you make sonic comparisons you will notice that IMAGE has a higher bass response than the ER4P. That was intended. In fact we had to work real hard to get the LF to perform the way we wanted in such a small armature. It was already difficult to make the KG926 and we had to make it more complicated. For my ears the IMAGE is more balanced in real world use. Most people will get a partial seal on IE headphones. It may be a 75% seal or more like a 95% seal, but there will most likely be a small leak. People are going to hear less bass when they have an ear leak, thus we decided to make sure that the PM's didn't sound too bright. Everyone will experience In Ear sound differently due to their anatomy. Some will wear the earphones deeper than others in their ear canal which will give a different user experience. The volume of air in your ear canal will change the response of the earphone slightly. Depending on how the ear tip sits in your ear you will get a totally different response on the top end. Lots of things can change your musical experience. But each design does have distinct characteristics that you can't ignore. This is similar to comparing different rooms with the same speakers. The speakers will sound different in each room but still have those artifacts of sound due to their design. The best thing I can say is try IMAGE. I think you will like it or your money back in 30 days. Isn't that the deal Amy? Just stick it! I think you will like it. No Professor Thump, It's not my intent for you to dis the ER4Ps', I have a pair and I love them. I call them by my own pet name "Sweet Etys'" (pronounced eties). No my question was based more on the diffrences in sound signatures? As you know the ER4Ps are well respected around PM community, How do the Image and the Etys differ in sound signatures? I truly am thinking of pulling the trigger on a pair, but I just didn't want to have two simular sounding PMs'.Also in the Images' picture, it is hard to gauge their size. Maybe a picture along side of a coin would help us understand it's size. Thanks, AudioAdrenaline
  8. Professor Thump, how do the Image compare to Etymotics' ER4P's? This is a really good discount on the Image, but my first choice was the Custom-3s. I have the ER4Ps and the Image seems so simular.
  9. X2, I think I'll wait a bit. Looking foward to hearing some reviews, it would be a great accomplishment for Professor Thump and Klipsch to come out with a great product (headphones)on the first run. I hope the team have all the success in the world, which would be a bonus for them and me, He he!! BTW, raising the price on the custom3's, NOT FUNNY!!![:#] Stick it in your ears!
  10. Hello guys, just wondering? Will there be independent reviews of the P.M's and also I would like to know about release date?
  11. Hello everyone, I'm also a Head-fi (Freeone-j)./ now Klipsch forum member. Heard about the Klispch IEMs from PeterDLai and I'm looking forward to hearing the Customs series or maybe even the Image.I realize this is Klipschs' first run at IEMs and I wish you guys (the team) success! From what I've read and seen, it look like the team is working hard to cover all the bases of releasing a good quality product!
