  1. I own rf-83s and rc-64, i drive them via denon 4306, i had good results except at high volume where my center channel seem to be in need of power, heard some distortion. I bought an used MCA-3 from Anthem to drive my 3 front speakers. It's the best move i made so far, my center channel sound way better with the external amp.
  2. I run 90% of the time with EQ OFF, i use small settings for all speakers, xover for 83s at 40hz, xover for center i tried a lot. Thanks for the hint,i will try other xover points.
  3. Ok here's the situation, i just came back from supplier, we tried the rc64 alone on an integra with a cd then Transformers movie, at reference level, sound was clean no distortion, no scratching sound. After we talked a bit, we came to a conclusion. My denon 4306 is not powerful enough, my center channel have no bass reflex, it's sealed so it demands more juice than other speakers. So at high volume i think i hear distortion??? Is that possible. If yes i have 2 choices, sell this denon and buy another receiver like an integra. Or maybe use the denon as processor and buy an amplificator.
  4. I hear scratching like, at high volume, intermittent, depends of the frequecy use i presume. I'm 100% home theater so it happens during movies. I've listen closely, i'm pretty sure the right woofer is blown or i don't know, maybe my receiver cause this, is that possible, lack of power at high volume???
  5. My setup is rf83s, rc64 and rs25 as surround(i know next upgrade) sub is pw2200, everything driven by a 4306 denon. I have a dedicated room with acoustical treatment. I bought the 83 + 64 kit during holiday season. I've been hearing a funky sound, been a while but i found it more evident since i treated my room. I think one of my 4 woofer is busted on my rc64. I thought Klipsch cannot busted, anyone heard about a similar story??? I'm going to supplier tomorrow first thing to try on another receiver, still on warranty no worry, just lil bit disapointed.
  6. Yes i have a dedicated room, i began my room treatment, i go with the dennis eskrine way, dead end- live end way. I really enjoy my speakers, it's only i want the best klipsch available
  7. So you are telling me that thx is better than rf83 for home theater? I bought rf83 thinking it was the best klipsch available, i'm 90% HT 10% 2ch. Damn if i knew before.......
  8. Someone know if the outlaw monoblock http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/2200.html is working good with klipsch speakers cause i'm thinking, maybe i can buy 3 to run with my 2 towers and my center? I think my the break in period is done, sound is fantastic. Bass is GOOD. I just watched Live free or die hard in dts with my ps3, pcm via hdmi, best audio track yet in hd movies, bluray or hddvd included(i have a hd-xa2 player) However it still sound different in 2 channels, not sure why but not as good as my rf35 bizarre.
  9. Better use a SPL meter instead of your ears, run the pink noise test and adjust every channel at same level.
  10. Hi,what do you suggest?? Changing my sub? or running the main as large? Well i received them yesterday, how long does it take before they are playing at their best??? You are maybe right cause right now i found the bass is not as good as with my rf35, anyone know why??? In home theater use, bass is good, in 2ch it's curious, seem to lack some bass.
  11. I found them, i'm going to pick them up this evening thanks a lot everyone. Now when i'm going to add them to my setup, should i stay at crossover 80 hz and small speakers, i use a PW2200 as a sub.
  12. Price is not a factor in my question, it was my denon after reading the specs i was not sure of. I got the answer to my question now thanks guys. My dedicated room is 21' x 12', i will add room treatment at first reflections, i'm working on it. I can't believe the 83 would not play good in my room, the rf35 are already great.
  13. Thanks to both of you, i will buy the rf83 and the RC64, since my denon 4306 will drive them ok, i was not sure since they are 250 watts speakers and my receiver a 130w par channel. I called one place u told me Frzninvt and it's 500$ us. dollars less expensive than Montreal, i'm not used to this but if i go there to buy, i will pay taxes at customs, nothing more???
  14. Hi there, i'm new to this forum, i want to upgrade my system, right now i use RF35 with RC35, surround are RS25 not the 35 but anyway it sounds good. I want to buy the RF83 but i wonder if my Denon AVR-4306 will drive them good, i've read the specs of the 83 and i don't know. Maybte the 63 will fit better with my Denon. I don't want to change my AVR yet i just bought it 9 months ago. I will buy the RC64 for sure. For the surrounds, if i keep my rs25 right now i think it will be good for a while what do you think?? And i'm in Montreal area in Quebec, one hour of drive from Montreal, do you know where's the cheapest store around here, cause i've seen the RF83 at 3500$ no kidding at one place and at the other place 2500$, the rc64 at 1000$, is that good prices in cdn dollars??? Thanks a lot in advance, i hope i can go with the r83 with this avr
