  1. Hello, I need to buy some speaker wire to hook up my Klipsch KG 2.5 to my Marantz 4002. Any suggestions as to what brands to look for and what gauge? Each speaker will be about 6 feet away from the receiver. Thanks Mud
  2. Yes, it is messed up for sure. But on the bright side, i will have 2 brand new woofers in there and the cabinet is in excellent shape. The total cost of the speaker will end up being aroung $150.00. That is still way less that a brand new C-2. Nobody has commented on my question that if i get the Synergy series for my rears, if there will be a noticable sound difference due to have the KG/KV series up front. Mud
  3. I bought a KV2. Both woffers are blown. I have to replace them. Its a good thing that they are still available from Klipsch parts. At least the cabinet and cover is in A1 condition. This is why i want to complete the rest of my system with current models. No more used stuff for me! I was just wondering how much different the sound will be between the Synergy series and my KG/KV. Mud
  4. Do you think that there will be a big noticeable difference in sound between my KG/KV line and the newer B2/S2/C2? Mud
  5. Hi, I am now looking for the rear part of my "work in progress" 6.1 system. Up front i have KV2 for center and KG 2.5 sides. As for the rear, what would be that major differences between the B2 or S2? Rear center i am thinking C-1 Buyer used KG or KV is no longer an option because of a bad experience with my used EBAY KV2. Thanks Mud
  6. You were selling them brand new for $15.00? Does anybody remember what the unit sold for when it came out?
  7. The seller wants no part of this. I even suggested that we split the repair cost and still they won't budge. I opened up a Dispute on Paypal...we'll see what happens. The cabinet and cover are in excellent condition. I paid a total of $82.00 for it. It will cost $38.00 to replace each woofer. Both need to be changed. So if i take that route, the total cost of the KV-2 will be $158.00. Is it worth it? How much did they cost brand new? How much does a current model cost that is the closest match to the KV-2. Thanks for all the help on this matter. Mud
  8. I agree, however, based on my first and only experience with buying a used speaker, i highly doubt that will happen. I guess that i will have to figure out what Klipsch products are currently available that would best match up with my KG 2.5's. Any suggestions? Mud
  9. Thanks for all the replies. Its the first speaker that i buy off the net and look what happened. The weird thing is that i was VERY paranoid about the whole purchase in the first place. Worse case scenerio, i end up being stuck with it and get screwed......which will probably be the case, then, would it be something that it can be fixed? Is it even worth fixing (the cabinet and cover is MINT)? If so, how much would it cost? Thanks Mud
  10. Hi thanks for the reply when i push the woofers in, they both make the same sound, i cant really explain it but its like a deep scratching sound. how else can i test this thing? i am hoping that its because i tried it on 2 channel amp....could this be the problem? Mud
  11. Hi I bought a KV2 from Ebay and i got it today. I wanted to test the speaker but i have yet to receive my Home Theatre Receiver. So I hooked it up to my 2 channel amp to the A speaker , right side. I poped in a cd and there is A LOT of distortion. The vocal is clear but the music is mostly distorted. Please tell me that its because i did something wrong. Thanks Mud
  12. thanks for all the replies Mud
  13. How much of a difference does it make having a rear center speaker? Up untill now, i have only heard a 5.1. I am curious as to how much impact adding a rear center will have. Mud
  14. Hello, As some of you already know, i am in the process of buliding my home theatre system around my soon to arrive Marantz 4002 (7.1) and my Klipsch KG 2.5. My goal is the have a 6.1 setup with two kg 2.5 and a kv 3 up front, and two kg 1.5 and a kv 2 at the rear. My living room can't really accomodate a 7.1 setup. My question is, is there a "huge" difference between 6.1 and 7.1? Will a be missing out on too much? Thanks for any help on this matter. Mud
  15. I have a KV-2 on its way to me. I am looking for a pair of KG 1.5 for the rear. If i come across a good deal on a KV-3, then this is what i am thinking. 6.1 set up Front L,R = KG 2.5 Front C = KV-3 Rear L,R = KG 1.5 Rear C = KV-2 (not sure how a center speaker will do when placed as a rear center) Does this sound like it would make good sense? Thanks Mud
  16. Yup, i am keeping an eye on on Craigslist. Thanks Mud
  17. Youthman, I contacted that seller and the item was indeed used. I asked for pictures but it would seem that in the meantime he increased his price and it has been sold. I don't feel too bad because it was not new in the box. The other day i won an auction for a KV-2. I paid $82.00 with shipping. Original owner and from the pictures it looks to be in good shape. I believe that its a fair price? All i have left to buy are the rears. There is a nice set of KG .5 for sale right now. However, i am not sure if i should wait for some KG 1.5 to come up for sale instead. In a different post somebody said the the KG .5 will work with what i have. Any additional thoughts on this? Thanks Mud
  18. By the way, are the KV's Magnetically Shielded?
  19. Sure, check out the link http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/view_images.php?cat=Speakers&catnick=speakers&cfid=2291&image_id=5360 Mud
  20. Regarding the KV 2. I am presently looking at a few on sale on the net. It seems that at the back, some of them have 4 screw heads in place in the center and some of them do not. Does anybody know why this is? Thanks
  21. I like that idea as well but my setup right now will not permit it. For now i will use a KV2 or KV3 as a center......they should work just as well as a third KG 2.5 for they were designed to be paired up with the KG 2.5 in the first place, or am i wrong about this? thanks Mud
  22. Hi I have a question regarding rear speakers. I have KG 2.5 up front, will soon have a KV2 or KV3 as center. I would like KG1.5 for the rear, but i was wondering if the KG .5 will also work just as well. Thanks for any suggestions Mud
  23. thanks for the tip Youthman, its appreciated. Mud
