  1. Those rvx-42 are going to have a hard time in a room that big..... you wont have good sound and if you crank it they will be WAY WAY WAY too "bright" (no mid's or base) you can get much better sound for the same money with the RF-52 home theater package or even the RF-62, the RVX-42 were designed for SMALL rooms were realstate is at a premium.
  2. All BD players are slow (very slow) compared to DVD players, I first bought the Sony BDP-500 and returned it a week later for that reason and because it did not decode or pass Through DTS master audio. I got the pioneer Elite BDP-95FD it does it all and faster loading times, still not as fast as a DVD player.
  3. My last receiver was a Yamaha rvx-2095 and was and still is a great receiver 5.1(sold on ebay for $580.00 cad), great sounding with Mission 700 speakers all around, I upgraded to the Denon 4308ci and klipsch all aroud and sounds very good, the two sounded diferent the yamaha maybe more dinamic, the denon is more "relaxed", but none of this receivers are entry level. One thing, the remotes on this units plain and simple suck as a universal remote, so put aside $200.00+ for a universal remote, I chose the denon over the Yamaha because of the wireless network, hdmi 1.3a, DTS-MA (yes not all receivers can do the DTS-MA 7.1), the Onkyo has had too many issues with hdmi...if you do not want to spend this much money look in to the Pioneer Elite receivers, for the money they are some of the best out there, in the end if you want a receiver to do all the new formats it is going to cost you $$$, and the only BD player capable of all the new audio formats is the Pioneer elite bdp-95fd, trust me been there, done that. my $.02
  4. Ok, RF-62 fronts RC-62 center RW-12d sub Now I have the RS-42 as surrounds and rear surrounds, the reason was Budget and because I listen to a bit of music I listen to HT at moderate levels -20 on a denon 4308ci and music at -10, do you think the RS-42 are up to the task of the new HT sound formats?? Thank you
  5. Well I tried the RF 82 and the RF 62 at home, same room same receiver and the RF 62 sounded better to me, well I got the RF 62 and I am very happy with them, the RXV 42 are good speakers for home theater, but for Music Towers are the way to go.
  6. If you do not care for the new lossless and DTS HD Master formats get the PS3 best bang for the buck, now if you want the new sound formats the only player out there that will decode them and pass them thru 1.3a hdmi (you will need hdmi 1.3 for the new formats) is the Pioneer Elite BDP-95fd, trust me been there done that the Sony BD players will not play DTS HD Master, you can also get the new Denon but that one is a BD transport, so you will need the latest AV Receiver out there with hdmi 1.3 and decoders for all the new formats.

  9. It will be.. 50% Tv 30% Movies 20% Music Room is 30x16x9 My old setup was Yamaha 2095 mission 702 fronts, 70c2 center, 701 surround, 700 front effects and reel 450w 15" sub I like the "claraty" of the new setup I find my self hearing things more clear at lower volume levels, it just feels like here is some mid bass missing......
  10. Some one, please help as I only have one more week to return the rvx 42. Thank you
  11. Wondering of what you sabys think of this 7.1 set-up (got it from a Klipsch dealer) Denon 4308ci RVX-42 x3 (right, center and left fronts) RS 42 x4 (surround and back surround) Rw 12d (sub) should I get diferent fronts???? (rvx 54) for music or will the 42 with the sub helping do the job?
