  1. Wow, Dtel. Nice setup you have there. That's some crazy large speakers but as long as the wife is happy, that's great. It's cool that she loves this as much as you do.

I hope you don't mind but I edited your photo so that others can see your setup a little better. It's just too nice to be sitting in the dark. Big Smile

dtel - that is one amazing system, what you and of course 'dtel's wife' have done to that room looks so nice and cosy.. [Y]

Youthman - good work on the editing, can you change my RF35's to LaScalas [:D]

  2. indy - i always enjoy seeing pics of your set up in here - totally awesome..

DU73, you should hear it, watching Open Range I almost had to check for blood, I thought I was shot, well it felt like it.

dtel - if i ever get to America i will be definitely contacting some forum members and hopefully Indy would be kind enough to let me hear this amazing system.

  3. i heard that cars are obsolete and we all fly around in space ships--any truth to that? i don't get to find out for another 90 minutes.

unfortunately my hover conversion is still on order.. [:D] i have no idea when i will be flying my hyundai into town, but for now i have to stick to the windy roads..

  4. hey Tarheel - so sorry mate - im a bit late to the party. the future looks bright thus far.. lets hope it stays this way. a bit scary though, as 2009 ended and 2010 began there was a very BIG and freightning storm here, i have no idea if this is a sign of things to come or maybe an end of a very tense year for some.. or it could have been just a storm.. anyway the first thing i did when i got up was have a shower, to wash away everything and start the year fresh...

  5. What about a stand to go over the center channel to set the TV on. Shaped like this.... [*********] with a brace in the rear in the center so it does not bow . Just an idea?

excellent point dtel, i have done exactly this and works a treat.. as per dtel's clever illustration you will notice he has not covered the back, that is in case the centre is rear ported, If rear ported you do not want to cover the back of the stand.

  6. Now... let's everyone sing Kum-By-Ya for today & tomorrow and have a great Christmas!!!

    [8] kum-by-ya [8] [:D]

i agree, ideally 3 of the same speaker for front stage would be ideal but would totally love to afford 5 belles, heck i would love to afford 1 belle [:'(]

in saying this i have reference speakers and have rc7 with 2 rf35's upfront. i turn the centre down by 1db so not an overkill on mains and to me it sounds unbelievable. though I am using a power amp also which helps.

so yes how is the centre supposed to keep up, i believe by having the best centre you can afford that is preferably timber matched or 3 of the same speaker.. preferably belles [:D]
