  1. How is the mid-bass on the RF-7's? I would assume that the bass is a little over the top. I have RF-83's and RF-63's. I find that the sound is a little hollow at times. This is in speakers with three drivers. I assume there are two levels of x-over in my speakers. With two big cones, I would think you have highs and lows. Really low being handled by your sub(s)
  2. I have an XPA-5 and 2 XPA-1's. Get the XPA5 over the XPA3.
  3. I like my RF-63 set-up. Is it a real upgrade to get the new RF-7ii? BTW, I cross the low frequency at 60Hz. My LFE is handled by twin JL f113's.
  4. The rc-64 was voice matched for the rf-63's. I have this combo. The new rc-64ii may work but the x-overs are different.
  5. Man, Am I bummed. I went to set up the subs this weekend, One was smashed. I hyave to send it back. BTW, I was underwhelmed by the solo sub set up. It was weaker than mt RT-12d. I think I may have made a mistake.
  6. I wanted to replace my RT-12D. I got 2 JL f113's for 40% off list.
  7. Why so dwn on the F113? I have the RT-12d and it's not the cat's meow. I was looking to get the F113. I also considered the SVS PB-13Ultra. I am still so confused.
  8. It's good to get affirmation of function. The guys at AVS forum loved the JL but then it became almost as worthless as a sub included in a HTIB. The tides turned and everyone jumped on the SVS pb-13B and subsequent Seaton Submersive bandwagon. I have never heard a SVS. It looks nolt as well made as the JL but the SVS fan boys taut it's build. The SVS is price attractive but I want to upgrade only once. $6000 is alot for 2 subs but if I will have them for a long time and I won't be looking to upgrade, then it will be worth it. I think I have made up my mind. I will probably get two f113's. I cross my RF-63's at 55HZ and RC64 at 60HZ. Therefore, the JL has to function from 60HZ down.
  9. I decided to get JL audio subs. I want to integrate with MY Klipsch RF-63's. I want dual subs. Should I get the two f112's or two f113's? I want low end extension and good sound with HT and music.
  10. Why did you choose the SVS over the JL f113?
  11. Talk about the run-on sentence[*-)]
  12. Professor, Since you designed them you are the perfect one to ask. I have been playing with my Xovers for a long time,: I can't seem to get the right sound. I have the RF-63's RC-64 RS 62 and RT-12d. My sub seems to have little output and visceral impact. I seem to get more dynamic range from the RF-63's. What x-overs should I use? I feel the RT-12d is lacking.
  13. I set the Integra to have the followng crossovers: Fronts 60HZ Center 80HZ Surrounds 80HZ LPF off on the sub High pass on Receiver 80HZ I set the sub volume with receiver +3 over volume match of other speakers. Occsionally I turn up volume on sub +3-6 db . I think I can hear the PR flapping durin intense bass.
  14. I wanted input from an impartial source. AVS forums has alot of SVS fan-boys.
  15. will anyone even open the post ?
  16. I know it's been asked, but I want to replace my RT-12d. Which is a better perfoemer? At AVS forum there a ton of SVS fan boys. I need an honest answer.
  17. I have the RF-63, RC-64 RS-62 and RT-12d. I have an Integra 9.9 and Emotiva XPA5 and. XPA2. The RT-12d is anemic. It is ok for music but lacks in HT. I want a new sub. SVS pb-13 Ultra vs JL audio F113. Any thoughts?
  18. I have the 12D.. It is tight for music. For HT use I find it a let down. Therefore, the 10d would be the same only wimpier
  19. I've seen smaller subs used as near field subs. I believe HSU markets the MSM? as such a product. So why won't the RT-12D work in that capacity?
  20. My RT-12d just doesnt hit low enough for me. I want to get a SVS 13Ultra. I heard mixing subs is hard. I would put the SVS in the front field with my RF-63's and RC 64. I would put the RT-12d Behind the couch behind me. I would use the RT-12d as a near field sub. ANY ideas ? The EAR?
  21. Sorry to hi jack your thread. I have a RT-12d and was considering the SVS ultra as an additional sub. How do you like it?
  22. Horn loaded tweeters tend to be bright and harsh. There will be more simbilance at higher SPL. Make sure your Xover are set up correctly.
  23. MY mains are set at small. X-over is 60 Hz. TYhe sub is X'd at 80Hz. It won't play anything above that to avoid compression.
