  1. Joann fabric and craft stores: BLACK LINAIRE SUITIN 400012955006. I've only done the center channel. I'm planning on redoing the others this weekend. Before: http://achumpatoxford.com/u/files/71/61b9c52743e0f1c3cb29630b66bf4996.jpg After: http://achumpatoxford.com/u/files/71/6f20218ad65b3ded1ba7d3ba22e05f49.jpg
  2. 8x the cost though I actually found it on ebay first, after I was told it was cloth and not net/screen. I was going to purchase it from him but my gf kept insisting I look at Joanne Fabrics first. I really didn't think I'd find anything there, but I did and I'm very happy because it saved me $70 The clotch isn't perfect, but you cannot tell a difference from more than 5 feet away, and yes my eyes are perfect and yes I'm extremely picky about this stuff.
  3. believe it or not, I just put it on there without any plan and it looks great. I cut the cloth to be larger than the grill. I didn't use any screws or anything like that. I just started at one end and then moved to the one opposite of that. That kept the cloth straight for me. I used hot glue, so it dried quickly. There wasn't any issues with keeping it straight. Maybe I got lucky. After I did the two ends, I moved on to the other sides (the longer sides). They were too long to do all at once like the other sides, so I started by gluing the middle part. After that, I filled in the left and right sides and it was finished. Took me about 30 minutes to do the Infiniti IL 36. This was a small speaker grill. I'm probably going to run into some difficulties with my CF-3's and CF-4's because they are much larger. But at least I was able to practice on a smaller item first. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the responses
  4. I went to Joanne Fabrics and bout some for $10. It'll do all of my CF-4's and CF-3's and center. Very happy ebay had it on there for $80 and i'd have had to purchased 3.
  5. I wanted to replace the screen/net on my speaker grills. I was curious where I could purchase the black screen to do this. Does anybody know of a good place to get some at? Thanks.
  6. Scammers typically respond to your e-mails though
  7. Unfortunately, he never responded to my e-mails. The add is still up online though. Obviously it's been up a long time now, where as when I originally e-mailed him, it was immediately after it was posted. These are the two e-mails I sent: First: Is this still available? If so, when could I come by and take a look? Thanks. Second: Hey, if these are still available, can I come out tomorrow and take a look at them? I'll bring cash and make it quick and easy for ya. If so, just let me know. I'll need your address and phone number before I head out. Thanks. I'll update you guys if I ever do hear back from the guy. I'm pretty sure I won't, but if I do, I'd imagine it'll go something like this "hey man, sorry, these have already sold"
  8. I was serious because I didn't want to straight out ask him "was it supposed to be listed for $2,000 and you just forgot a zero?" But I re-checked the listing and he mentioned $200 OBO twice in the listing, so I doubt he messed up and forgot a zero twice. I sent him an e-mail: Hey, if these are still available, can I come out tomorrow and take a look at them? I'll bring cash and make it quick and easy for ya. If so, just let me know. I'll need your address and phone number before I head out. Thanks.
  9. Well the post was just put up tonight and the guy hasn't responded to my e-mail. One of my buddies mentioned that he could have forgotten a zero on the end of the asking price. So I'm going to offer him $190 for it over the phone. If it's a typo, I'll find out then. I can't ask if he meant 2k though, else he might start wondering Thanks for the quick responses. Wish me luck guys.
  10. I have a set of CF-4's and CF-3's but I'm powering them with a 100watt per chan receiver. I'm guessing I won't have any problems running my speakers with McIntosh amps? I haven't had much time to research this because I just found them tonight and the listing was just put up today... I found a guy on craigslist who is selling his fathers stuff(Its all mcintosh there is a tuner, 3 amplifiers, preamp & a cd player). He didn't list any serials, but he showed a picture. He's asking $200 for everything which seems extremely low for McIntosh equipment. I don't know anything about McIntosh other than it's high quality stuff. Does anybody have any idea what it's all worth?
  11. Pros: puts out more than what I was looking for bass wise. I don't listen to anything too loud, I just wanted some bass for my movies/music and it does exactly what I was looking for in that respect. Cons: my universal remote is not compatible with it. My universal remote is the remote that came with my Yamaha receiver and so far it's been compatible with my DirectTV box, tv, dvd player, cd player and receiver(obviously). So the fact that this sub doesn't have an input for this remote is very frusterating. As you can see above, I need to find somebody who has a remote that is compatible and see whether mine can "learn" from theirs. I'm pretty sure this will work, but it's a bit of hassle since I don't know anybody :\ side note: I purchased mine off of eBay from reference3713 for $429.00 plus shipping. I'm not sure if this is a good price or not, but if you wait long enough and are patient, he will continue to relist them and you can eventually get it for as low as that price... http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=so&sbrftog=1&dfsp=3&satitle=&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sadis=200&fpos=33511&sabfmts=1&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&seller=1&sass=reference3713&fsop=3%26fsoo%3D2&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search good luck.
  12. I tried this, and it's not the screen I'm looking for. I'm trying to find the same screen that's on the RW-12d. My other options appear to be eBay, http://www.wendellfabrics.com/ or BEC(is this a site or a user on this forum?). Thanks for all the input guys.
  13. I have some CF-4's and some CF-3's that Klipsch no longer sells the screen or grills for. I was hoping somebody could tell me where I could find some screen that would match the screen on the RW-12d, that way everything matches. Klipsch couldn't tell me what type of screening to order, so if anybody on here knows which type, I'd imagine I could find it on eBay if I was given a name. Anything helps. Thanks.
  14. I actually thought of that earlier but ruled it out due to the fact that I have terrible luck. I guess I'll put a craigslist add up and see if I can find somebody who would be willing to try that. Thanks for the tip. I didn't think it'd work at all when I thought of it, but now that you've said the same thing, it's definitely worth a try
  15. Rich_guy, thanks for the quick response. Apparently my universal remote, the one that came with my yamaha receiver, won't work with the sub...
