Nothing like the real thing
Peter, you made me spit my cereal out this morning!
I know we can't lean on a Stereophile review too heavily, but this amp is truly a brick shi*house. Their comments about build quality are spot on. It's not fussy, either, which I like. I still use solid state stuff because of its "plug n play" characteristics, but I've had this tube amp for about 15 years and have enjoyed the hell out of it.

My sincere apologies, Joe. I appreciate your interest and patience, too. If you have interest in the amp, shoot me a PM and I can tell you the story of how I purchased it directly from a Nobis employee.

Pics man I am waiting for the Pics. I read the linked review and it sounds like a good amp. The reviewer also gushed over the appearance, I have never seen the amp and would like to
Joe, good to hear from you! I completely jumped the gun on this post...hoping to get the amp from my Dad's house tonight and get some photos posted. My apologies for leaving you hanging!

I purchased a box from McIntosh today and this until will be on eBay in the next couple weeks.

Bumping this up. I can't stress how clean this unit is. The chrome is bright and not pitted. The power supply, cage, and face are also super clean. Have your favorite audio do the cap kit and you should be ready for the better part of your lifetime.

I'm not surprised to get you never had a return, Andy. Even while posting, you're detail orientated and particular about getting facts straight.
You should start a new thread about the day in the life of HDBRBuilder while at Klipsch. Seriously.

Here's a pair of '81 (W serial #) Heresys in my house!YES!...provided they are from late 76 thru Oct 83.

Those were probably built by the brother-in-law pair of builders: Charles Horn and Ronnie Barham who seldom put their initials on what they built, then...since they are from 1976!
Okay, what a great tidbit. Are speakers with a letter A built by YOU?

No other stamps, Andy. Just the USA along the edge.

Super cool info! I responded to my other thread with the Cornwalls for sale and tagged you, so no one reading this gets confused with which speakers we're talking about.

No such thing as LaScala DECORATORS...they were either LaScalas or they weren't!
Andy, I appreciate you setting me straight on that. I've always described Heritage speakers that came from the factory without a grill as decorators, but I understand completely that the serial number description for these doesn't have any sort of "decorator" designation.
For anyone else who reads this, you will not regret paging through some of Andy's posts. He was here when I signed up in the late '90s and is a wealth of knowledge. Most guys from that era don't come around here any more, for a variety of reasons, but it is damn nice to see Andy posting regularly again. Back in the day, he was the only "golden age" Klipsch employee on the board and has great PWK stories, insight into build strategy, and hints to make our speakers sound better. Each member's posts are archived though our profiles and some should almost be required reading for members to get an idea of where this forum came from.
Thanks again.

I've had a few inquiries on these Cornwalls, with two people asking if I am open to an offer. I have adjusted the price to where I absolutely need to be on these.

Sorry tidmack, I meant to ping djcindc and I incorrectly grabbed your name from your post in djcindc’ thread.
on another note, does Madisound have a retail store, and, if so, have you ever been there? I’ve always been impressed by them.
No worries at all! If I were closer, I'd be in to assist. I'm a transplant, from the Milwaukee area originally. I will check out Madisound sometime, I am not familiar with them.

Those Belles are pretty darn clean, too. If you have some interest, keep in touch. Depending on where you are, I could potentially meet you somewhere closer to your home.Pretty darn clean! If I didn't just drop a bunch of money on Belles I would probably drive the 2.5 hours.

Nobis Cantabile USA Made Tube Amplifier For Sale Madison, WI Area
in Garage Sale
Posted
I really appreciate the compliment, Joe. I wish I could compare this one to something else, but honestly, I just don't have a ton of experience with tube amps. I can say that what really blew me away the first time I heard this Cantabile is how much headroom it has and how upfront the bass was on my Klipschorns.
If you are able to sell an amp and have further interest, don't hesitate to reach out.
