  1. Hmmm...this whole invite thing seems to be a marketing ploy. It seems everyone that wants an invite is getting one...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get one, but not willing to spend the money on it right now.

  2. Well, I guess you've thought it all out then. I mean, the price is right, I'm just saying I wouldn't buy it. There is a reason why it's so cheap-because it's obsolete. You might even be able to low-ball him on the price.

  3. I don't recognize it, and don't think it's one of the classical music "classics." Someone else may recognize it.

The music for some ads is written by a "house composer" who does his/her work without being identified or recorded separately. Recent examples that initially sounded to me at first like great classical stuff, have been the "We" environmental ad music, and current Marriott ads (where everything unfolds and folds up in motels). Well-known music isn't used much in ads these days, although Sprint used a Shostakovich waltz a few months ago.

That's kinda what I was thinking, made just for the ad. I originally posted that, but then thought if it was something well known, I'd be ridiculed, so I replaced with "no idea." [:$]

  4. What I find interesting is that...would they rather have crowned someone who spoke up for what she believed in (that marriage should take place only between a man and woman) or someone who lied about what she believed in just to pacify other people?

Neither. They want someone who stands up for beliefs similar to their own. The problem is you're going to piss someone off no matter how you answer that question.
There really is no good answer to it. It was a bad position to be put
    in.

  5. Do they do any tunes from Canadian Idiot?

It's about half from American Idiot, and half older stuff. It came out a few years ago on CD/DVD, but is now out on Blu-Ray. I haven't picked it up, but am considering it. The only problem is that there are a bunch of interviews and stuff between songs, which I hate in a concert video. Just show me the concert.

  6. Here is my set up:

Samsung LN46A550 on a motorized Samsung wall mount
    Klipsch RF-15
    Klipsch RC-25
    Klipsch RW-10
Some unknown ceiling mounted rear surround
    Onkyo TSXR-603X

My wife and I just finished builidng the custom stand with custom door and drawers. It was our first finished cabinetry project and are pleased with the end result.

    (Pic of HT set-up)

    Very nice woodworking.

But, uh, what is that on the pillow? Confused

Colter, I am surprised you havent commented on this yet.

Ok, get your mind out of the gutter, I'm sure it's a chew toy for the dog. [&][A]

  7. I don't think Jessica Simpson is relevant either. The discussion about the definition of middle class is grinding a political ax on one side or the other.

I meant no offense Daddy Dee, nor did I mean to imply that you care about Jessica's booty... well maybe I do a little Embarrassed. I was simply trying to explain that I felt this an interesting topic for discussion. As far as political axe grinding, I had no intention other than to look at this as an economic issue purely by numbers.

It's hard for people to seperate economics from emotion. I never saw this as anything other than an economic discussion. It has been interesting to see what others read into it.

  8. Tonight I actually ran for over a mile for the first time in my life without stopping!

Your whole life? That's kinda hard to believe. You must've done it in Jr. High/High School.

Anyway, I'm starting a diet/exercise routine myself. I've got a bit more to lose than you. I'm about 5'10" and would like to get down to 180-190 (I have a pretty muscular build). Let's just say to get there I need to lose 60-70lbs. I've done it before, just never stuck to it. I know for a fact I couldn't run a mile right now. I get winded going up a flight of stairs. About 6-7 years ago I was running 5 miles almost every day. I also have Diabetes to worry about. My brother was diagnosed with it at 40, I'm 38. It's time.

  9. yes front effects.. If you have a 7.1 receiver wat u do is turn off sourround B ..Srourround A is ur rears..Sourround Backs are your front effects. [:^)] Thanks for clearing that up. It all makes perfect sense now? I mean really, is ur even a word?

  10. Check this out. Warner Brothers has a new Trade-in program called Red2Blu. Basically, you send in the cover-art (You get to keep the disc) for your current HD-DVDs and Warner will send you the Blu-Ray version of the same movie for about $5.00 + shipping (Multi-Disc sets extra). You can only get one of each movie and 25 discs total, but this is a great deal!!! I've got about 20 that I'll be "upgrading," including my 5-Disc Harry Potter collection.

  11. Update to my home theater setup. Cleaned up the wiring a little, I'm working on making new speaker wires for all speakers and getting ready to run as much of the cable under the floor as possible. I'll be running the wires for the RS-42's inside the wall when I get the chance. Need a weekend off to do it! Anyway I added a second MFW-15 to the system and got it tuned pretty well, had to toe the left one quite a bit and the one on the right is firing straight into the room. This seems to have removed the null problem I had with both firing straight out. Funny thing though, with one MFW-15 and one Klipsch KSW-300 I hit 117db peaks and with dual MFW-15's my best is 115db, I would have thought it would be the other way around! I have downloaded REW and will be learning that software and seeing how the system measures up this week.

Here is some updated pictures. My camera sucks inside the house, or I just suck at taking them.... how many people have a working 1957 RCA Victor in their HT?

Looks like we have the same decorator. My wife loves to put angels everywhere.

  12. If a perspective employer doesn't think your online degree is as good as a "real" degree remind him that you were holding down a job while you attended. Also point out that with online classes, there is nobody to hold your hand, you really have to be self-reliant. And third, most people are just kids when they go to school. You went through it as a responsible adult, and really took care to put your best into it, unlike most college grads. Also the material is fresher in your head than someone who graduated 10 years ago.
