so, I'm looking to buy a somewhat compact surround system for movies and video games, i've already got a reciever and pro logic processor (yes I know a 5.1 reciever would be better, that upgrade is down the road aways, especially since I'm currently happy with the Dolby Surround tracks on my DVDs, and my Laserdisc/VHS collection doesn't have 5.1 audio encoded to it, so matrix surround works just lovely for that), I just need a speaker solution thats fairly compact
I was looking at the Cinema 6, since Amazon seems to have a pretty good deal on it, but then pieced together a Cinema 10 package, I've got a few questions:
Is the Cinema 10 worth the ~$400 more?
Is there any real difference between the silver and black versions of the speakers? (The silver ones are cheaper, I'm not sure if this is a sale or if theres actually something different with them)
How would either of these systems suit what I'm looking to do, or should I be looking at something different? keep in mind its technically LCRS (left/center/right/surround) for multi-channel, but a 5.1 reciever is eventually going to be a reality, so i'm fine spending a bit more on quality surrounds and center now, knowing I'll take advantage of it down the road
