  1. The C-3 is the exact match for the center speaker and the S-3 are the rear speakers. The center is normally 329 at best buy but you can get it for 200 on amazon now and the rear speakers are 300; both prices include shipping. Amazing prices and great sound .
  2. I don't know why everyone likes Harman Kardon receiver? I had a avr-635 and it seemed great. It sounded good for movies, had the latest fefatures, and the automatic setup made a difference with my speakers. Then, I got the uprade bug and got the avr-645. Worst receiver choice ever! This is when HD-DVD plapyers were just out. Right out of the box, it did not work with the hd-dvd player and that is why I upgraded to it. I was sent an AVR-745 from harman kardon for the trouble I was having with my original avr-635 and that went bad too. It had a new video processing htat allowed the hd player to work and decoded the true hd. It came with the harmony remote and had an extra sub prot that the auto setup would even recognize. I thought this was my last receiver. One day, this brand new receiver kept shutting off. I traced it back to the center channel port on the recier. Wires and speaker were fine so something was shorting out in the receiver. When playing logic 7, the sub box on the receiver does not light up. People on forums said they used the DVE and found that it was not playing something. The firmware was taken off the website that they had on there for a while becasue of bugs. Why do people like a receiver that cannot decode sound right(logic 7 problem), has many quality control issues(mine broke in 5 months and look at all the referbs out there), and right out of the box the avr-645 you could not use the hdmi for video with an hd dvd palyer. The answer from support about the avr-645 was it was old and I should have gotten one of their lower models because it was produced later. The onkyo 805 is what I got to replace the AVR-745. No problems at all. Decodes the sound right, and even has the new true hd and dts ma formats. The remote is easier to use than that harmony remote. I guess if you wanted a harman kardon recier, it would not be bad to get the avr-635, but don't get one with hdmi and all the problems. Not many other receivers have logic 7, and it cannot decode it right.
  3. It was hard finding some one at best buy just to ask if they had a RC-62 center speaker in stock just incase I bought the speakers. I think if I waited or got the right guy, I could get the RF-62 for the same price I paid for the F-3 speakers and a few dollars more for the RF-82. The rest of the speakers are not onsale and with me being 21 it is hard enough to go to a store when you want to buy something and be taken seriously. So, I don't think a high end place would give me a discount. For the money, I will probably not get them. It wold at least be 1500 more than I paid to upgrade (including th new sub for the reference line) and that is double the price. Right now I could get the sub to comple my set (400), and even get an extra back speaker for 7.1 (300) and still be under what it costs for a reference 5.1 system.
  4. I have the synergy F-3, C-3, S-3 Klipsch speaker system. All I need is the subwoofer. Right now, I am using a Harman Kardon hkts 14 subwoofer. How much of a difference will the sub-12 make? Also, I got the F-3 speakers on black friday for 500. In total, I have 1200 in the set. I went to the magnolia store at best buy and they have the reference towers onsale. If I had not bought the synergy set, that wold have been a good price and I would have bought them instead. If I could get what I paid for the speakers, would it be a good idea to upgrade to either the RF-62 or RF-82 set? If I did, I probably could not afford the sub for the RF-62 or RF-82 set right away. What is the difference between the S-3 surround speaker and the RS-52 surround speaker? I heard that someone got the pair of RF-62 speakers for 500 which is what I paid for the F-3s. Home much of a difference would I see between the Synergy set I have and the RF-62 speaker set?
