I'm looking to add a thin subwoofer behind my head board in my bedroom theater to smooth bass response.
Behind the headboard I have about 4 feet of height to work with, about 3 feet of width, but only 10 inches of depth. The headboard is open on the sides, so no worries about this being a bad spot for a subwoofer.
With the depth issue I will have to go with a sub that uses an eight inch driver. I'm currently avoiding the custom route.
Ideally I would love to find an option that utilizes multiple 8 inch drivers, has an efficient amplifier (class D, G, H etc.) and is under 500.
I of course could just buy multiple 8 inch subs and stack them behind the headboard, but I'll only entertain that if all other avenues fail.
Any fresh ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Tuba is still available, I'll wait about another week and I'll then be posting on ebay, Craigslist etc. Though I was hoping to avoid dealing with all the craziness that can come with listing on those sites.

We made this 30 inches wide so it would fit through most doorways easily. 36" deep, 36" tall, 30" wide.

How do you like the Wrecker?
I do really enjoy the the wrecker, it is a form factor that I can hang more easily in the garage and have it aimed through the wall, which I plan on tackling soon. Horn subwoofers are sublime.

I don't include an amplifier, I have repurposed the inuke amplifier for the lilwrecker. I will take some new pics of the THT. It has been doing silent duty as a networking audio shelf as of late. So the pics may not be that pretty. I may consider audio trades, I will look into the SVS subs you mentioned.

I have a blown woofer on my silver Klipsch RSX5. I don't necessarily need a pair, but if they're only sold as a pair I'll entertain it. No one carries the replacement woofer anymore...frustrating.

I have for sale my prized pair of Klipsch CF-4's. I am located in stillwater mn and I am open to shipping them ONLY if they are picked up by shipping / freight company after payment has been made in full.
These are about an 8 out of 10 esthetically there is some water spotting on one of them (see pics in craigslist link in next post below) They sound perfect and are completely original. They are also posted on Craigslist so they may go quickly. -
I too have cf4's and would like to find a couple of class d monoblock amplifiers to run them to their full potential. Hard to find to many options, I may just go with a couple of pro audio amplifiers.

I have one and shipping would/could get expensive. Just be aware, the WAF is something to think about if that is an issue.

I'm well aware of the dimensions, the wife wants more subwoofer, so she gets more subwoofer. We plan at some point to place it behind a wall of the home theater, out of sight out of mind.

I'm not quite finding anything that I'm liking much, I would be up for trying this cerwin vega subwoofer that utilized dual 8 inch drivers, but it isn't made anymore. I may have to go another direction. I would like something that goes into the low 20 hertz range reliably, even if I had to sacrifice spl since I'm sitting near field.
