  1. I'll put my two cents in. I'm a big COD fan. Since the beginning on PC! I always loved the single player for being very cinematic. In todays modern age of gaming I would definitely say that multiplayer is where it shines. With the competitive gaming websites (MLG/Gamebattles), the clans, and all the events associated with it. Now I am a BIG WWII buff so, I am a little bias toward those style of games. Now I'm not saying that Modern Warfare wasn't good, it was VERY good. It pretty much boils down to personal preference. Either way they are both excellent games.

  2. Oh no, you got the upgrade bug. You better hide your wallet.

I'm infected again! NOOOOOO! On a serious note, I think I'll end up running the surrounds a little hot. The S1's aren't as efficient as other Klipsch speakers which could be the problem.I'll try the following calibration levels, Front 3 speakers all at (80dB), Subwoofer at (83dB) and surrounds at (83dB). Running them a little hot might just get me what I'm looking for.
  3. I think where I've got it right now (settings) will work but, I wonder if upgrading to a slightly bigger or better surround speaker would make a difference. Maybe even the S2's? I mean it sounds AWESOME, really! My family says it sounds awesome too but, I don't know. Kinda wish I could do some sort of comparison test. It's not that the S1's are lacking. They just don't seem to have that big, spacious, room filling sound.

  4. Put in your favorite music turn down the lights, now set only the left channel playing, now bring in two great looking blonds and sit on the sofa and after a while you will not even notice only half the speakers playing........see it's all in your head ! Big Smile

Ha Ha! Just finished my movie and wanted to check back here. I needed a good laugh and some encouragement. Thanks LOL
  5. Okay, so here is the verdict. I ran my Pioneer's Auto MCACC then manually adjusted a few settings (speaker size) and I also bumped up the rear db's a bit. Surprisingly it made a noticeable difference. Still tweaking some settings but, I am getting closer to what I want. I'm still open to further suggestions but, until then. Thanks so far dtel!

  6. Thanks for helping me out with this. The rest of the system sound phenomenal to me and everyone else that has listened to it. I could try a couple of things with placement as well as tweaking some settings in the receiver. I'll try them right now and post back with any changes I make.

  7. If your chair/sofa is all the way to the back wall that could be part of the problem

That could be the problem but, the sofa is in-line with the side surrounds which puts IT two feet from the back wall as well. As far as rear placement is concerned. My understanding is WDST speakers are meant to be placed on the sides. If rear placement would fill in that gap then, I guess it would be alright.
  8. I wonder if you guys can help me out here. Just to be quick and straight to the point, I feel like I am missing something with my surround speakers. Like a sense of spaciousness. I have a very small room (10x12x8) with my S1's placed directly to my side at five feet above the floor and two feet from the back wall. Is it me, my placement, or what? They are already mounted but, I am willing to do some patch work. Any help would be awesome, Thanks guys!

  9. I want to be the first one to say, that's awesome that you got one and that I'm glad you are happy with it. I've kept up with your posts on wanting a good 3-channel amp and after Tommyboy mentioned to me that an amp would make a noticeable upgrade in my sound, I started looking around. My budget doesn't allow for one right now but, I can still look right? Anyways have fun with it man and post pics when you get time.

  10. Ok, so say I do this... it will help me how? I mean lets be honest, even if it did (i'm sure it would) sound good. I would like an idiot set up my living room, clearly no one in the right mind would set their speakers up like that... What if I had a projector screen? you're telling me the soundstage for 2 channel would be better if I had a bigger screen makes no sense. Maybe for movies, which isn't the issue here.

I think you should carefully re-read Colter's post. He is simply trying to help you by making suggestions too working around what you already have.
  11. Hey smcilwaine287! Listen VERY CAREFULLY to what the guys here on the forum are saying. They'll definitely set you straight on exactly what you need to do, to get your system sounding the way it should. Any advice I'd be giving you, would simply be repeating exactly what these guys here are saying. I'm 19 as well and this summer I have an opportunity to start my apprenticeship with a local Home Automation company. I don't know what the requirements are for your particular job but, one of the requirements for my job is to know "Advanced Calibration of a Typical Home Theater". This would prove that I posses the skills to correct your listening problem. Like I said these are my job requirements, not yours. In the end I hope it all works out for you and that the guys here are of big help to you. Good luck!

  12. My Pioneer receiver came today in brand new condition. I mean it had everything that it came with new and then some. I could go on all night about how cool this receiver is but I really want to get my movie watching underway so, I'll keep this short. First off I love the remote, very cool. I found it quite easy to set-up and navigate. Overall a sleek looking receiver with (in my opinion) plenty of bells and whistles. The last thing I'm going to mention is the MCACC. Possibly the coolest calibration set-up I have ever experienced or done myself. For my particular room it was very accurate with distance and channel level. The acoustic EQ for either all-channels or individually is really in-depth. I'll get pics when I'm not so busy. We'll off do do some heavy listening. Later.

  13. Okay so after all this hectic back and forth I've decided to go with the Pioneer VSX-1014/k. After doing extensive reading on this particular receiver. It has seemed to get fabulous reviews with such remarks as" Truly an Elite level receiver" "Best in it's class" and so forth. Even the remote got high remarks! I'm waiting for a final response from the seller. She said she is willing to split shipping so, that's the other part that sold me. I think I made a good choice and I want to thank everyone for helping me with this. I can't wait to post pics when it gets here.[:D]

  14. i am also excited to see that X-Box is going Blu-ray too!

Please provide link to evidence of this. I have both Xbox and the PS3; have OPPO on order. I can not find any mention of XBOX going Blu Ray that is not a year old and they so "it ain't so".

I would like proof of this as well. I use my xbox almost everyday for Netflix, games, and movies.
