  1. WRONG......! I was planning to get them repaired at MY EXPENSES... KLIPSCH Customer Support refused and suggested to buy a new pair... These phones had great sound but I always struggled with the cable....So the answer to you is plain and simple The cable in all Klipsch Headphones is a POOR DESIGN, and when you spend almost $300 dollars for it, you expect a better product. CASE CLOSED!
  2. THE CABLE....THE CABLE .....KLIPSCH....LISTEN....THE CABLE ....THE CABLE...THE CABLE FIX IT .....FIX IT... THE CABLE ....THE CABLE....THE CABLE
  3. NOTHING NEW! THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CABLE DESIGN....THEY TANGLE REALLY BAD AND EVENTUALLY BREAK..... ALSO KLIPSCH WARRANTY SUCKS AND THEY WILL NOT REPLACE NEITHER REPAIR YOUR HEADPHONES AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRES! Buy WESTONES....much better
  4. UNTIL KLIPSCH RESOLVE THIS TERRIBLE CABLE DESIGN ...I WILL STAY AWAY FROM ANY HEADPHONE FROM KLIPSCH... I owned a pair of Custom-3 and paid $299 (expensive) only to have them tangling all the time and eventually the cable broke and right channel stopped working. Good sound but ones should expect better quality for the money spent.
  5. RETURN THEM.....TRUST ME YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! THESE CABLES WILL EVENTUALLY BREAKE AND IF YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY KLIPSCH WILL NOT REPLACE THEM OR REPAIR.....
  6. 2 years ago I bought the Klipsch Custom-3 and although a friend advice was to go for Westone 2, I spent almost $300 US dollars in this pair of headphones. What is really hard to understand is that these headphones sound excellent, they were comfortable and in general very balanced sound for any kind of music. So many may be thinking, well...what are you disappointed about? 1. ) THE CABLE, THE CABLE....Listen KLIPSCH...THE CABLE, THE CABLE These Cables were constantly tangling, and although I managed to take good care of them, treating them with more care than my baby girl, they kept tangling, Every time they rubbed against anything the noise travel through the cable. Eventually happened what is the result of poor designed cables...The right ear stopped working, the cable somewhere broke the threads and stopped working. Unfortunately for me it happened out of Warranty so my only choice was to replace them or call Klipsch to get them repair ( AT MY EXPENSES). 2. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I called customer service and explained the situation, I offer to pay everything (shipping, replacing the cables, and any fees they would deemed necessary as long as they were at a reasonable cost). SORRY SIR! SINCE YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY WE CANNOT REPLACE THEM AND WE DO NOT REPAIR HEADPHONES, PLEASE BUY NEW SET..... This guy or he is stupid or he is thinking I am stupid........Simple solution for me....... I went to WESTONE and bought a new pair of WESTONE 2....I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MY FRIEND.....I would still have headphones.....
  7. I just want to share with you my 2 years using the Custom-3: Let me start by saying that this has been MONEY WELL SPENT...yes i have enjoy these earphones all along these years. However there are few observations that I think could help klipsch engineer for future improvements. Ear Tips: The ear tips although are well designed are not quite suitable during exercising. The soft silicon will make the loose seal when sweating and under constant movement. My solution was to adapt black olives (shure foam tips) that fit well these earphones. Comply tips were ok but once they get ear wax or prolonged use, they must be trashed since over time they loose sealing capacity in your ears. I finding myself to adapt special ear tips made by audiologist (custom mold). Noise Isolation: One of the reasons why i bought these earphones was due to the fact that I am a frequent business air traveler. On this field, The supplied silicon tips were somehow disappointing. They create some isolation but not enough to minimize the engine roar to a point that the noise is reduced to acceptable levels. Once again, i found that adapting the black olives from Shure helped more on this problem. Bass: Only if you get proper seal you get nice bass. This apply to all earphones but i found the C-3 to give the enough amount of bass specially when listening to Jazz, Rock and some Classic. In simple words bass does not take over the mid and high end of the sound spectrum. You will see big difference n Bass response depending on the type of music file. MP3 encoding must be at 320 kps to enjoy the richness of sound. For some reason AAC and loosless encoding work the best for me. Mid and Highs: These earphones really excel here. They give me the full detail of timbals, violins, guitar solos, etc when listening in AAC and loosless audio format. The audio quality is outstanding and they sound good in all type of music genders. Listening Yoyomama with the C-3 is a real treat to your ears. Quality: These are well made earphones. Congratulation to Klipsch engineers for attention to details. The cable, although has not been an issue for me, have tendency to tangle and you must be careful or you will end up with cut cables or nods all over the place. The construction of the cable insulation is ok but not flexible enough and could lead to short cuts in the wiring if not handle with care. Comfort: One the strength of these earphones. I find them very comfortable up to the point that i can sleep with them on my ears ( listening relaxation music). I can wear them for hours and hardly noticing they are in my ears. I love the over the ear plastic extension which makes them adaptable to different types of ear sizes. What is missing? Klipsch is missing the Custom - 4 with triple drive. When is time to get my new pair of earphones i will go for the Westone-3 or UMX3. Hopefully by then Klipsch engineers will have something on that league for real audiophile listeners like myself. Klipsch really need to improve noise isolation with ear tips, although well designed, that can provide that extra seal for demanding ears. I will continue enjoying this earphones and regardless of what i found them missing, they are still a great pair of earphones that has given me 2 years of good quality sound in a small package. Enjoy. Enrique Rodney Troncoso
  8. I have lost the cleaning tool for my brand new Custom-3 headphones and I am wondering if anybody knows where i ca get this tool. One BIG DOWN FOR KLIPSCH is that they do not offer any accessories for sale and now I don't know what to do if I need to clean my headphones. I guess i will end up using a paper clip! Please advice
  9. Hi dheerpat, I have a pair of Custom-3 headphones and they sound great to me. I don't know about your ear anatomy but once you have a good seal (which is also required with other headphones) you will hear the richness of sound and bass. Have you checked the quality of your songs.. If they are less than 200 bps then these headphones will not make any difference. Having said that, you can always return them since you have 30 days to do that. just my two cents!
  10. These are way better than Etymotics. You can hardly feel them in your ears and the sound...well all depends on your taste but for such small headphones armature these are awesome!
  11. Nothing like the Klipsch Custom-3. Beautiful design, comfortables, excellent noise isolation. I just returned SE210 and bought these babies. They provide crispy and deep music when needed.
  12. Toasted Sorbet, I have the same problem. The Serial number was not where to be found so I just submitted the registration. I don't think the headphone have serial numbers but if they do, we need to ask klipsch where to find it. I hope Clipsch send me the free gel tips......I am enjoying these great headphones wishing that soon Kilpsch have some additional foam tips for sale. Enjoy the music
