  1. Guys, you can't beat these amps, for any amount of money.  I had 45DRD's and traded them for a Nelson Pass First Watt M2.  I still have Welborne Star Chiefs and Welborne Laurel 300B's.

The only reason I got rid of my DRD's is that I had the Star Chiefs and another custom 45 tubed amp.

They were sublime on my Khorns.  So clear and precise, especially on female vocals.

    Good luck with your sale.

They are very dynamic speakers.  A huge soundstage, great bass, very clear midrange, and fast.  They have a different but pleasing sound signature with a lot of dynamic presence.

I have changed everything about my system many times except for the speakers.  They had been in those corners for almost 22 years.  If I find I miss them, I'll find another pair, or maybe Cornwalls.  I never had Cornwalls.

  3. Youthman,

I had been following the buzz on the Tekton Double Impacts on Audiogon forum and some of the other online forums.  I posted asking if anyone had a pair I could audition and a gentleman from Tampa responded saying he had a pair he wanted to get rid of.  He had moved up to Tekton's flagship speakers so we made an deal and I brought them home.

The buzz is that they are besting $20,000 speakers.  I'm not sure about that, but they are awesome.  Especially for what I paid for them!

    Come hear!

Did you use the same interconnect with the CD and the phono pre?

No, but I Swapped out the interconnects for another pair.

I'm away from home all week. I'll try the cd player interconnects when I get back home. Thanx

  5. I have a Juicy Blueberry BBX with cream preamp. I use a VPI Scout turntable with a Dynavector 10x5 high output moving coil cartridge.

I usually use the Cream setting on the pre because I think it sounds better than the MM setting.  Just for the heck of it I bought a Musical Surroundings Phenomenon ll phono pre here on the forum to see if more precise loading options would make a difference.  I ran it through one and then each of the auxiliary inputs but only get sound from the right channel. I changed interconnects.  No change.  I tried a Dynavector P75 phono preamp with the same results.  Only sound from the right channel.  My CD player works on all 4 auxiliary inputs-both channels.

    I'm stumped. Please advise! Thanx.
