  1. I've had mine since the first of the year and like it. Being a car audiophile, I expected too much from it. But after listening to friends and realizing it isn't like a car sub, i like it lot better. I'd say for the money its well worth it. I have a pair of Quartets also and am looking for something to use as surrounds. I have Quintets now but am moving to a larger house and am afraid they won't have the volume I want.
  2. Hey all, I currently have a pair of Quartets as my mains and a ksw12sub and quintet surrounds. Getting ready to move and will need a different setup. I thought about putting speakers in the wall for surrounds. Anyone have any thoughts on this? But I was leaning toward using my Quartets for my rears and buying some Rp5's or KLF 30's.Any thoughts on this? I'm kinda leaning toward the 30's. Anyone have a sweet set up they would like to share?
  3. Thanks for the tips. Thats a good idea about pre-wiring. Also excellent idea about running it by the baseboard in a pre existing home. My real concern was if the sofa is in the middle of the room with 4 feet on either side, will that be too far to place the speakers on the wall? I don't have that problem now due to my smaller living room, 12x12. And somehow have the idea that your back speakers need to be fairly closeto you. Now that I'm thinking about it, that seems un necesary. What do ya'll think?
  4. Hi all, Getting ready to build a house, and am trying to figure out how and where to place my rear channel speakers. Say you room is 14x24 ish and you want to put a sofa about mid way in the room . What options do I have in running speaker cable to the rears other than going through the floor? Is there a better method? Anybody have any other things they would like to share experience wise, either good or bad? Anything would be helpful. Rock is cool, Erik
  5. I bought mine at J and R. I read nothing but good things about them. I have heard something about "b" stock, but from what I read J and R "was" a certified distributer.
  6. I had a different sort of problem My KSW-12 blew three fuses before I sent my amp board in to get repaired. Klipsch was pretty fast about it, roughly two weeks. But from reading on this board, I think their quality department( Hey you guys have one, right?!) needs a little re-tuning. I'm hesitant to play my sub too hard now. I guess I'm gun shy. I'll break it in slow and hope the problem was fixed.
  7. I'll have to chip in with my two cents also. I ordered my sub and surrounds from J and R. The local shop wouldn't even come close. I work for my money and spend it wisely, so if I have to pay full retail, I may have just bought my last set of Klipsch speakers. Or untill the nearest dealer comes to his senses, but with this memo, I don't see that happening. I know somewhere someone at Klpsch is tracking sales. I'd like to see what impact this has over the next few quarters.
