  1. Well, here are my two boys, Boogie and Scooter, weighting in at 21 pounds each they pretty much things around here. They are brothers and have been with me for about 7 years. I just pray they are with me for many years to come. I have had others cats and it effects greatly when one of them passes on, but so is life, I just hope they will have a better life on the other side.

  2. Boy, I tried something last night that was pretty darn good. I deep fried some baby back ribs, I have to admit real decent of course anything fried has got to be good. After eating then I believe I need to make some changes, they tasted just a tad bitter to me, others didn't think so, too much liquid smoke would be my guess. Well, anyway as good as they were, I think I can make them a little better.

I am, well Sweetie Pie is making good head way on the typing of all the receipts, the fried ribs will be in there.

  3. Folks, I'm sorry, I have been sick as a dog the past several week and have not been able to do much on the cookbook. Well, SweetiePie has consented to help do all the typing. The software I purchased will work fine, just requires a lot of typing, my old fingers don't work so good any more. I have gathered about 50 good receipts from all who have donated to the cause. It will just take some time to get them entered in the software, so in the meantime keep them coming and I will be working on them.

    Thanks again.

  4. I am going to try to find some software to use for making a cookbook. Maybe something you can copy/scan and it will format it for you. Anyone got any suggestions before I start wading throughout a bunch of software?

I started one, but it wasn't with any special software. it started out with Wordperfect back in 1993 and now I have it all in MS Word. My list continues to grow, and with this thread, it's likely gonna grow a few more pages. I only save recipes that I've tried and like. I'll share some here, let me go look what I'm want to post... it's cut and past.

My recipes were written exactly like the 1 provided in the opening of this thread. I find it straight forward and easy to follow. back in a little....

I wanted to find some software just so I wouldn;t have to do a lot of typing, old fingers don't work too good. I have complied bout 50 so far, they are all good (my opinion) had a few friends give me some of theirs.

I am using an IMac so I have to convert everything to Windows Word for the software which I haven't got yet. and I hope it well be a simple cut and paste, looking for a nice consistance in recipes.

I well make sure everyone who has shown interest gets a copy.

  5. Well I just purchased some software for recipes/cookbook. I will try to type/scan/copy/paste or what ever means to get the recipes in some type of consistent format. Please bare with me as I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to this computer stuff. Pictures will be fine or anything else you wand to include. There is some other good stuff in the BBQ thread. So, give me your favorite recipes.

  6. Well, I'll go second. This is a very tasty thing called Southwestern Shrimp. You can use lots of variations on this, but I like this version best.

    Southwestern Shrimp

1# large Gulf Pink Shrimp. the big suckers. cook about 3/4 done, peel, devein and remove tail, butterfly, leave a little hinge on the back side.

Cut small strips of yellow cheddar cheese

Cut strips of Jalapenos Peppers, size depends on your taste

Cut strips of Bacon long enough to wrap the shrimp with the cheese and halapenos, cook the bacon about halt way done.

Unfold shrimp, lay in the cheese, Jalapenos, fold shut and wrap the entire thing with the strips of bacon, use tooth pick to hold the whole thing together.

You can use a outdoor grill or your oven broiler, cook until the bacon is cooked, when almost done put a little of your favorite BBQ sauce, finish cooking

Just remember, don't eat the toothpick

    Enjoy

  7. Like usual, I'm not sure I understand either. A friend has an old JBL non-powered subwoofer and I was thinking of putting in my shop system. I have a few options for power.

Let me get some of the particulars on the sub and I suspect I will have other questions. Thanks
