Thanks for the advice and info ( I love this site) , I just e mailed Monster. I am planing on upgrading my video soon, so I am sure it would be worth it. If nothing else I will have a kick *** surge protector, better than the $15 power strip I have all my stuff plugged into now. Doesnt Monster guaranty/ waranty up to XXX amount of dollars ? Also with somthing like this, I like a local seller. So if it turns out to be a black box, I can hunt him down and slash his tires.

I have a chance to get the above unit. Do any of you guys have experience with this, or something like it. Can you really hear a difference with all your components going thru it? Also, I live in an old apartment building and all the sockets are old school two prong. Will it hurt to use one of those adapters with this unit? Thanks. Rich

I am sure it is not funny if you are in that position. However, I am not. I have my small apartment, with my system in it ( just added a Rotel CD player tonight) and I come over here when I want /need to get away. I am 42, never married, no kids, had a vasectomy 2 years ago. I ROCK ! And so does my and my GF's speakers. It is all about priorities boys, priorities. And seriously, I cant complain.

WAF? What is that ? As far as my budget . I was hoping to get some ideas here and then pick one up on CL or Ebay, or the Garage sale form on this site. I am aware that bigger is better, but I figured that since the speakers I have are so small, a smaller sub would get the job done. Thanks.

Hi guys. I put a small system together at my girlfriends place. It has KG .5's for the front and rears, and a KV 1 for the center. I was hoping you guys could let me know the best sub for this system. (Klipsch or not) I have a SW 8 and I am not sure if she would be ok with something that large( I know, its not that big) Thanks for your help. This site has helped a bunch.

Ok guys, I need some help. I have one system at my apt. and my girlfriend finally gave me the go ahead to do one at her place. My system is 2 SB-1's in the rear, 2 KG 1.5's in front, a KV 2 center and a SW8 for the sub. I have recently aquired 2 KG.5's and a KV 1 for the girl friends place. She wants small, and black which I am fine with. Question : Should I put the KG .5's in my system as the rears and use the SB 1's as the fronts for her system ? If I do that, what would be good rears? OR. Get 2 more KG .5's for her place to finish up? Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. This place rocks.

I hear you. Have been checking Craigs List, and a lot of good stuff is coming up here in Denver. I want to buy it all, but, you know. I am lucky, I have my system in my apt. Live with the GF alot so I get to come over here and crank it up. Trying to get the go ahead to do a system in the GF's condo. I think it will be easier than mine. She likes black, I like wood. Hence the four different wood colors of my speakers. I know I am not done. I did an internship at a recording studio and am just now getting back into good sound. Feels good to be back.

Thanks. Reading about some of the systems and installs on the site, I do feel like it is entry level. But that is fine with me. It is a starting point, and perfect for the space it is in.

I found a pair in the trash many years ago. The woofers were blown, I went to the local vintage sound place and bought two and replaced them. Is there any way to determine if what I put in is inferior(I am assuming they are). Also, is there somewhere I can get OEM replacements? That is what I would like to do. Thanks guys.

After adding a SW 8 and two SB 1's as surrounds ( got them from Craigs List), in addition to a KV 2 from e Bay, to the KG 1.5's that I found in the trash many years ago I have a system that I love. I have a Yamaha HTR 5730 and I just bought a Pioneer VSX-D 509S . I am wondering which one I should base my system off of. I will be listening to music , and when I get everything together , as a home theater. I am using KG 1.5 as mains, SW-8 sub, SB-1 for surrounds and a KV-2 for a center. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

She had two SB-1's, an Pioneer VSX-D 509S reciever and a Niles SPS-4 Speaker Selection system. I got it all for $ 200.00. Question: I have a Yamaha HTR 5730, which reciever would you reccomend using. Reading the reviews they seem about the same. Does anyone have any first hand experience regarding the two? Thanks. Rich I think I am addicted.

No, I dont. Thanks. Going to check out some Synergy's and see if I can use them as my surrounds after work. Lady wants $75 for them and a Pioneer reciever. She doesnt really know what they are.

I currently have two KG 1.5 's as my mains and a SW 8 subwoofer. I would like to add a center channel and two surrounds. I was thinking of two more KG 1.5's or the KG .5's for the surrounds. But I have no idea as far as a center speaker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, awesome site/forum. I am really glad I found you guys.
