  1. Bill very cool. Thank you for an eye opener. Nic
  2. Thanks Cfkb, I have thought about Emottiva but Klipsch Tech Ser has steered me away from them because at least one Tech felt that the amps weren't up to snuff for Pallladiums. Thank you also for your other recommendations. I guess if the dealer gives me the opportunity to return the Anthem Statement P5, I'll give it a shot. but get this, you need two 15amp outlets to power it up! It actually has two power cords! I'm going to have to spend a few hundred bucks to rewire my basement Believe me, I realize these are problems that some people wish they had so I'm still lucky and you won't hear too much complaining from me. Thanks again for hanging with me, Nic
  3. I need to try to stay under $6000.00 for those who have other suggestions. Since Klipsch Tech Services said P38s do better with 300 or more wpc, it is pretty much out. Thanks, Nic
  4. Hi Kfkb, I just updated my profile as I returned the Parasound Halo A51. I was unhappy with it as it seemed a little bright and lacking in bottom which the salesman at Audio Advisor said was unlike the feedback they usually get for the amp. I should give some thanks to Audio Advisor for being prompt about handling the return even though the outer box had been destroyed when it was shipped to me. Back to the issue. I'm thinking I want to match up an Anthem Statement P5 that would give me 500wpc with the 4 ohm Palladiums I have. I know this might seem like overkill with the efficiency of Klipsch but even Klipsch Tech Services said the 200wpc McIntosh 205 was a little weak for the the P38s as they do better with over 300wpc. So I guess I have my own answer at least that far but I'm not really a big fan of Anthem and I can't afford a big watt name amp like Krell or Levinson. I have been using my Denon 4810 as a pre-pro. According to Denon Tech Services its a very good solid performer in that role. It actually sounds pretty good pushing only 5 channels as the watts are not severely diminished from the advertised 140wpc. Its the only thing I have to power my system right now. The P5 does not come cheap at $5900.00 The main problem is that amplifier specs are over my head. I guess I'm going to have to go slow on this, do some homework and hope that those wiser than I will help out. Thanks for taking an interest. Nic
  5. P5 are 500wpc through 4 ohms, Mc is 200 through same. Thanks
  6. P5 500wpc or Mcintosh MC 205 200wpc? thanks Nic
  7. Considering Anthem statement p5 vs macintosh 205 either mated with Palladium system. Help anyone please. Nic
  8. DizRotus, Thanks. I was beginning to feel like I had committed the unpardonable sin. We plan to have a beautiful finished space downstairs. However, we just got done buying a home, two cars, a fine HT System, and a host of other things...all paid for, not on credit, so we're lucky we even have hot and cold running water. Of course that's no excuse for not picking up the towel or the extra wiring. What's done is done and thanks again for giving me a little wiggleroom. Nic
  9. DizRotus, I think this is my favorite. Simple yet to the point...amusing. Nic
  10. Skule, I think since my original photo was met with such wild excititation, enthusiasm, and admiration that I'm going to wait a bit before adding more. Kind of a quit while you're ahead strategy. Contrary to what you might intuitively think is a waste of money my set-up does, in all seriousness, create a lifelike sonic environment that I'm very happy with and proud of. Be that as it may it's likely that I will find a pair of 27 sides and use the 37s for wides as Audysessy recommends for front ends like the Denon 4810; I'd love to have a 7.1 system like you do. Finally, I'm sure like many others I'll be awed by the photos of your system. Klipshfully Yours, Nic
  11. t, I'm tempted by bravado to say yeah, when you pry them from my cold dead hands but you have guns. Nic
  12. All, I don't know if I should run, fight, laugh, or listen to my Palladiums...I think I'll laugh and listen to my Palladiums! Nic
  13. Shame on me for the backround but it will be finished eventually. The upside is now I have five Palladiums!
  14. Hi All, Finally decided on the Parasound Halo A-51 with time to return so please speak now or forever hold your peace. I'll have 400wpc through 4 ohms. Will add P38s and 27C. Nic
  15. Hi Ironsave, Please take my comments with a grain of salt because I've found that my opinions and popularity have dramatically improved since I recently became a Palladium owner; I'm half kidding. I've found forum members to be a fine bunch. Regardless my response does not really speak to the heart of your question; You said "any and all" so I'll tell you what my experience has been. I have my 37s and the 27 center in a 16X24 room with RF-83s in the back and you can hardly get me out with a sledge hammer. I mean I love them to death. Second comment is second hand information that comes from someone with a great reputation for his business dealings on Audiogon. He also has enough money to have owned lots of expensive speakers. He sold me my 37s and said that I could use even 39s in my room (although I think he may have meant a stereo application). He has 39s on order for a room larger than mine and he practically swears that Palladiums are the best thing since the wheel. My reading of the Stereophile review of the 39 left me with the opinion that they were good but not great among the more expensive speakers and the best horn loaded speaker the reviewer had heard to date. Wish I could be more precise and simple but I would be stretching the truth. Nic
  16. nezff, Very nice neat looking install. Nic
  17. cornfedksboy, I had sound before the movers left the house and I'm not going to let a little construction stop me now.. I'll just move them to the other end of our long basement. Hope you are fine. I loved KS when I used to travel through it driving a big truck. Thanks, Nic
