  1. Hi Assumer, I've owned these for a year and they are outstanding speakers. I am never ceased to be amazed at how good they are. The detail and power are beautiful, and, since you asked, so is the emotion. Jokes aside, they really do perform as advertised and there isn't any type of music where I where I have found them lacking. If I had to describe them in a word, I would say "alive". I have a full set of Palladiums in my 7.2 system. I highly recommend them and I seriously doubt if I will ever replace them. I hope you enjoy them as much with music and HT as I do.
  2. Joe, Very sweet and super neat. An Inspiration. Shake
  3. Your welcome Tas, I edited my post just to say I'm never disappointed when hearing the ES after the Oppo, especially since I don't have to get off my duff. Nic
  4. Hi Tas, As usual, what is your opinion because its a winner in my book and I must admit I'm not an expert. However, my experience with the ES is that I always expect it to be very noticably outclassed by my Oppo 95 because all the really sharp guys I have over say the Oppo is very very good. They haven't said anything bad about the Sony its just that they always say something good about the Oppo. I am never disappointed when I hear the ES after listening to the Oppo. ES is slow when changing discs but I'm more than willing to put up with that to remain in my chair. That's the deal maker but it wouldn't be if the A/V wasn't so good. My opinion is based on my experence with it and the many reviews I read, The price you are paying for it is great because I paid a thousand for mine without the remote which cost me somewhere near fifty dollars direct from Sony. I waited a long time for the player to come down but I had considered buying it when is was up near two thousand. I'm so glad I did because its a real bargain now and I would grab it quick as I could for 798. I hope you are as happy with it as I am should you bite the bullet since money still doesn't grow on trees. Has a disc identIty and location system but I use a numbered list. Doesn't play SACDs and takes up a lot of room, Still really nice. Nic
  5. MichaelK, I got mine Augsut 2011 for about 60% retail on Audiogon and then got P38s about the same price with a warranty, and finally, P27S for $1800. new in the box. The point is you can get great deal on great speakers if you are patient. Nic
  6. Yes IH, Nice.I'm late for the pics as well. Shake
  7. Roost, Never heard a Khorn but sounds like you might be onto a deal. I'm told they are really something special in two channel and can work in ht although not everyone agrees on the latter. I'm crazy happy with my Pallladiums and they can sometimes be had for half price plust ten to thirty percent. Best of luck and welcome. Shake

  9. Waiting extremely patiently for Emotiva.
  10. Hi Ym, I had a few glitches with the Re and I should have followed up with them or made an update on the forum to let everyone know that maybe its not the best thing since hot potatoes. They certainly tried to be helpful...emphasis on tried. I got real people to talk to but they seemed stymied by the whole thing. Harmony is a good trusted name and although I know nothing about the unit you are talking about, I would say Harmony would be the way to go. Best, Nic
  11. Thanks Audio Android, I've been meaning to update my status because I thought interested members like yourself might think I took the big bite. I'm a more frequent contributor than I have been lately but I've just been so busy. I'm learning to handle two big hobbies and life as well. Shake
  12. Many thanks to all who are so into these two avocations and who took the time to share their experience with us. Shakabusa
  13. Apologies Islander, Funny you should mention the throttle because one of the well respected books I'm reading refers to the extremely good relationship one must have with it as the title Twist of the Wrist infers. I went down for lack of that knowledge. I blipped it in gear downshifting in a low speed turn. The bike shot out from underneath me and I hit the asphalt hard but with no serious injuries. Fortunately, I love it enough that my profound fear compelled me to learn rather than to sell it. Almost immediately I removed the passenger seat and replaced it with a hump that keeps you on it during hard accelleration. It's been a real process learning how to pin the throttle. It wants to leave you behind. Any ZX14R owners out there? Thanks, Shakabusa
  14. Thanks Islander for taking the time and interest in my safety and coolness. I'm using the hang moderately and even in reverse on slow speed turns as recommended in Total Control and the course I took. You hang your butt slightly into the direction your turning and it helps to balance on slow speed turms. Total Control is a book on how to apply track skills reasonably to street riding. Mostly I appreciate that your tone is helpful and so is your attitude. I do find hanging off slightly, at times, is helpful and I don't care how it looks. I never drag my knee. Thanks for helping to keep me alive and in one piece. Shakabusa
  15. Quiet Hollow, sroback, and all, What an adventure the Busa has been. I'm scrambling like crazy to get up to speed in knowing how to handle my white rocket. I've been reading Twist of the Wrist II, watching the video, and reading Total Control. Those are the most helpful of the many others I've picked up at the library. Its fun when some of the skills just sort of appear in my riding repertoire. I'm learning how to correctly corner at low and high speeds, move on the seat, hang off the bike, and many other skills taught in these books. I've also taken a skills course after I dumped it at low speed. Too bad I didn't take it before. Besides the work I'm putting into it, I'm having a great time and its hard to choose between my theater and the bike sometimes but usually time, weather, fatigue, all work to help me make the choice. I'm getting more and more confident and can really pin the throttle now but still with much respect. I've only been up to 150 so far. Also my buddy bragged that his Rocket would toast me 0-60....not! I get a good bite in a drag race and I hooked in perfectly; Fortunately I had him with the timing in the start as well. I'm really proud of that one since he's got tons more seat time than I. My wife has completely accepted the reality of me owning a bike and that's a huge monkey of my back. So that's the skinny. I've been so busy riding and working on my theater that I've been absent from the forums. I don't like that as this has been one of my favorite pastimes. For my theater, I'm going to build a room within a room to kill the noise. I can't wait for that. More reports to come. Thanks for the invitation to keep the thread going QH and thanks for the great story of you on the Busa at 175+ sr. Shakabusa`
  16. Hi z76, you have a very nice system. Of course I love the 37s since I have them too. I don't, however, have beautiful, heavy, natural wood furniture as do you. It's a great touch that makes it look rich and of its own class. Very nice indeed. Shake
  17. QHollow, I must not be listening as critically as you because I take for granted that the Master DTS is the best but now I have my doubts after reading your post. I'm also one of those Guys who like to listen at horrific volumes at least for brief periods. I guess i'll have to open my ears and turn on my brain once in a while. Regarding the thread, I'm befuddled that no one finds this soundtrack as watchable as I do. I have seen it more than maybe any other movie because I find the audio so compelling, complex, and interesting. Shake
  18. Thank you tKHorns, I'm truly out of my league with this one. I do precious little on my machines. If the tool didn't come with it I'm not doing it. It has to do with my get er done attitude. I have seen many fine mechanics with fine tools doing their thing. Those are the guys I pay to do my work because in the long run it works out cheaper to have them do once rather than me do it five times and have parts left over that I don't know where they came from! I have some friends who I can ask and report back with a reliable answer. Shake
  19. JL, Thanks. Noticed your avatar some time back and I thought why Man this is all about audio. Now I get it. Thanks. Shake
  20. All, Much better when showing Members something you remember to post the picture. Here's the beauty. Shake
  21. All, Just had to show you my buddy Chris' Triumph Triple. I think its one of the most beautiful bikes I've seen. Thanks, Shake
  22. All, Hard to believe I'll be starting my second day with a Busa today. It's metallic white with gold and silver accents. Ararakapovic headers and mighty insanely fast. Its a 2011 with about 2345mi but who's counting. My buddy who's been riding for over thirty years fell quickly in love with it and he has a Triumph Triple that is so beautiful, I won't show it on the same post as my Hyabusa. He's been taking me out and teaching me how to ride with plenty of fun and saftety first. You would be surprised at how well it handles in the twisties and it walks away from most anything once it comes out of the turn with this slow pokey turn man at the helm. This is incredibly fun and thanks to all who encouraged me to get it and stay safe. The safe part is the most important. Wheels down guys. Thanks, Shakabusa
  23. Thank You, QH, it will be fun and give me an idea for the next move. I' m thinking low mileage stock Busa. Nice piicture...like,you are ready to go after a quick beverage. Shake
  24. All, Busa is 9.92 @141 according to one source. I' beginning to think 11.3 is not so bad cause I know I can find a used bike that will do that. Shakee
