  1. Anyone get their amps yet? Curious how it's working out for yas!
  2. I'm interested in seeing more reviews from users of the board, espeically compairing the sound from a high end receiver to these seperate amps. I think I'll wait a while before purchasing, I still want the Denon monster amp, but that's probably never going to happen unless I win the lotto. lol
  3. I personally don't care much for them. I wanted to like them, but they are just ok. They have good midrange but the lows are seriously lacking (only a 4" cone) and highs are so so. When compaired to the B2's it's obvious that the B2's sound much better across the board. I never heard the KG 2.5 so I'm not sure how well the S1 will blend in. On the other hand, they are rather small and will be easier to fit in, which is a nice feature. What else is there to say?
  4. I have some time to dcide, I'm going to compair a rx v1900 against a 3808ci tonight. I was also thinking about going straight to a Emotiva MPS-2, but figured I could use the yammy as the preprocessor ifI upgrade to seperated amps...
  5. I returned a SC 05 due to an power issue. I was going to exchange it for another SC 05 but decided to demo the Denon 3308 against the SC 07. I found the Denon to be better sounding then the SC 07 especially when it came to vocals. The salesman recommend the RX-V3900 which they didn't have ondisplay and had to special order it to the store. I did manage to get $400 off it for some reason...i.e. $1499 compaired to $1899. Anyone have any opinions on the RX-V1900 or RX-V3900? I'm still temped to cancel the order and just get the Denon 3308, but the Yammy has more current features, just home the sound is just as good or better. Thanks!
  6. I guess you could say I’m trying to get Lamborghini performance out of a sports compact. I personally like aluminum dome tweeters. Sure these might not be the best drivers Klipsch makes but if it can sound better, I think it’s worth looking into. Also what would you rather practice on? A Lamborghini or a cheap compact? No better way to learn then hands on with a little bit of direction. I guess the consciences here is that the risk of damage outweighs any potential for improved sound. Honestly, due to the complex nature of sound I would recommend against modifying components as well. I just don't listen to my own advice...
  7. Intrested as well... What exactly is a IMG woofer composed of? Thanks!
  8. Should have guessed it since it's the circuit outputted to he woofer and not the tweeter. I'm not concerned about the warranty, it's nice that Klipsch made the speakers serviceable though. I still don't plan on making any changes to the existing crossover at the moment. Last thing I need to happen is have my speakers blow out or start on fire..eek... Like I said they sound better now and perhaps on how Klipsch intended them to sound after defaulting the EQ back to default or zeroed out values. I'm assumeing this crossover design was created in a way to sound good to most consumers while still offering driver protection for warranty reasons. Sound can be so subjective.
  9. Cool, thanks everyone! I've been trying to find my speaker book I bought 8-10 years ago. As you can tell I didn't read the section on crossovers yet but this has helped me out till I can find the book. I was worried about the space issue, but like you said it's workable. Thanks again!
  10. Well I got bored and played is safe by starting with the B3. What's your guys/girls opinion on this crossover setup from the B3? What is that white component in the middle? Thanks!
  11. Thanks guys! I'll probablly do more experimenting on my own before making any changes. Till then the speakers sound pretty good for music now and great for movies. I asked Klipsch for the frequency charts but they won't provide them. Prehaps I can atleast get the crossover diagram. Thanks!
  12. I adjusted me EQ from what the Pioneer flatened everything out and everything sounds a bit more vibrant now. I don't have a issue shipping to Dean, just need some direction on rather to do the upgrade for all speakers or if just the front can be upgraded. Not sure if I would want do to all speakers at the same time incase I don't like the sound, or want to try a different configuraton. Also I don't know what the process is for removing and sending in for the upgrade, expectations, and also payment etc.
  13. Here's a link the Infinity Pefect Speakers that I love. http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=KAPPA%20PERFECT6.1&cat=KAP&ser=KAP&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA Looks like the crossover is at 3.5kHz instead of the F3 2kHz. Would be interesting to try to bump up the range to 3.5 kHz to see if the vocals even out more?
  14. Inventor, What did you do? Upgrade the capacitor with a better brand with the same specs?
  15. Yes it does have a EQ, nice feature and it has helped. How much do the higher qaulity capacitors cost? Are we talking a few dallors here $20+
  16. Anyone know if it's possible to attain frequency response sheets for this series?
  17. They seem a bit to harsh...I have my receiver reducing the higher frequencies and it sounds ok. Also seems like vocals are to much in the higher range and missing some lower end...will the replacement help with this at all? My car has Infinity Perfect Kappa 6.5 fronts with a 10" Infinity Perfect sub and I think it sounds so much better when it comes to vocals and while they are a little bright they are not harsh at all like the F3's. I'm almost tempted to purchase some more and install them into a home speaker tower. Just not sure how well that would work lol They are definitely "Perfect" to me though and they are installed in a car! I also have klipsch Promedia 5.1 ultra, which sad to say, I think sounds better with music then the F3's and C3... I guess the F3's sound fine if not great for movies but I don't think they handle music and vocals as well as I would like. I think they might have been designed to stand out from other speakers which in a way takes away from the certain details that can be easily overlooked...sigh...I think I purchased to quick lol Lastly the bass on the F3's are ok, just not as punchy and deep as I would have thought, but that's ok because the Sub-12 picks up the slack.
  18. What can one expect as far as sound difference when upgrading the components on the F3 fronts? Is it adviseable to do the same for the center and rear? Anyone have this performed or and forum links for more information? I'm interested in having this service performed but want to know what the difference would be like before making changes. Thanks!
  19. I don't see much but I'm sure the next generation gameing console will have 7.1 surround sound.
  20. I noticied on the site here that Klipsch doesn't have any 7.1 systems. They are all 5.1... Just seems kinda strange since a lot of receivers are 7.1 nowadays...
  21. I'm interested in swapping out the tweeter and the crossover in my F3 with one from the referene series...curious how it would sound.... Anyone take their speakers apart? Since it's Klipsch I would assume the speakers are serviceable...? I would get a pair a reference series but the GF would kill me if she saw new speakers, so I guess I'm just curious to hear the difference a tweak around a bit...
  22. How do you describe the the sound difference between the series? I can't see synergy line needing to be any clearer...if anything the synergy series seems almost too detailed and slighly harsh... Is it possible to swap out the synergy parts with reference series? Just curious for tweaking reasons, curious how the different horn would sound lol
  23. I have F3, C3, B3, and the Sub 12. Looking for side surround speakers. Any sugguestions? Not interested in the S1 or he S2's due to the smaller size and specs. Thanks!
