Well I got the replacement rc64 for the 1st one that UPS damaged. Got it on Christmas eve just like the seller promised. They have been great to deal with over this 1st damaged rc64. Well once again I can thank UPS for another damaged product!!!!!!!!!![8o|] The box was soaking wet with a fist size hole in the side at the grill and alot of other box damage. UPS noted the damage, and I was hoping it would be OK! So I unboxed and and of course the grill was broken and the fabric damaged. It also has some splintering of the wood on the front corners. Called the Company again and they were also mad it was damaged again. They are going to make Ups pay for the return shipping of this one and are probably going to send me another one out Monday on a palet with a freight carrier instead. They are hoping that if its on a palet and a freight company has it, it will be handled better. I hope so!!! Anyway this is what has been going on with the rc 64, The seller has been great so far, UPS has Sucked 2 times. Even the UPS driver could not believe how the box looked and how wet it was. Why is it when I calibrate my speakers with the onkyo 706 audessye, it always sets the center lower than the front left and right. It makes it hard to hear the speaking parts and the other noise seams too loud. Do I just manually set it or should the center be lower?

Klipsch is not making several items in cherry anymore.

I switched mine over to bitstream. I cannot tell if anything is different or not. Still plays regular dvd's and the only bluray I have is underdog and its playing ok. but I still can not select truhd or other formats. You should set your PS3 to output Bitstream if you are using an optical digital connection (i.e., Toslink) from the PS3 to your Audio/Video Receiver (AVR), and you should set it to LPCM if you using a HDMI connection to an AVR. The PS3 will not bitstream advanced audio formats to your AVR (i.e., it can only bitstream basic Dolby Digital and DTS surround audio formats). Ok, I swiched bact to lpcm because I use hdmi. Do I need a different bluray player to get the new formats 7.1 and dolby tru hd ect.. to get the best sound? If so any Sony blu ray player that do that?

can you expalin in more detail? What is the difference? What is pcm and bitstreaming mean? Do I need a differennt blu ray to get the true hd formats ect.

OH, OK, I thought that I would be able to see the new formats. So only PCM will be displayed. Any good movies that I can try out in the new formats with 7.1

Yea, that Bose center was the main reason I wanted something else. I can not wait til I get this replacement rc64. I was so mad when I saw the damage on the first one sent to me. Well at least they are 2nd day airing one to me will be her on the 24th. I am sure it will sound great the 83's and 63's kick @ss

The rf83s got here and are now set up testing it out with my sons movie transformers. 83's up front 63's at the sides for now . New center channel has been shipped and should be here Christmas eve. Still Blose center and rear. But not for long rs62's in rounte

They are sending me out a new center channel first thing Monday, I just received another email today Sunday saying how sorry they are. So far I am very please with the attempt to replace my speaker before Christmas.

I got an email late tonight from customer service. She said she will contact me by phone first thing Monday morning and send me a replacement in time for Christmas. If they can pull that off, they are a good company to deal with IMHO. I will let you guys know Monday what happens when she calls me.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a problem! I heard something rattle when I was moving the center channel, so I unboxed it and removed the grill when I noticed one of the woofers was beat up from the inside. I called the company I ordered from (I guess I will see if they are good to deal with). I spoke with the store manager and he said the magnet probably came off. That is what it looks like to me. He said he could send me a new woofer and I can fix it myself or he said that he will just send me a new one out on Monday and when it arrives I can send the damaged one back with t he UPS driver. So that is the route I am taking, he even said they may be able to express ship since it was for a Christmas present. He did state that "it was a good thing you bought from an authorized dealer" Boy was I upset[8o|] when I saw the woofer damage, especally since its a rc 64cherry that is not being made now. How hard would it have for me if I wanted to change out the woofer myself? Anyway seems like they are going to make it right and assured me that they will take care of me!

I guess knife edge back sounds cooler than FULL VENEER!!! Thanks for explaining that to me.

In the description of the reference line it states "the RF-83 comes with a knife-edge back and low-diffraction, magnetically attached grille to further accentuate the elegance of this speaker." What do they mean by "knife edge"?

Youthman, I am no audio expert by no means but I would think if you enclose those rf 83, they will not be sounding as good as they do now.

Yea, I know I need to run the set up but everytime I do it my wife starts complaining about it. Maybe she also has super sonic hearing like a dog. I think the sound of the speaker set up drives her crazy. I will post some pics after I get the mantle shelf made for the center it is still in the design stage.

No, I really dont! It was great that my wife could tell a difference. I just plugged them in and I did not run the set up. You think they will sound even better after I run the set up on them. That center has got to be awesome!!!! I can not wait, til I get that up and running and then put the 83 in front. Thanks Youthman for making me want your rf 83 cherry's.

Well, I finally hooked up the rf 63 to the front left and right. I left the center bose until I can mount the rc64. All I can say is the rf 63's sound great compared to the blose left and right. I can not wait til I can replace the center, its going to sound awsome!!!!!!!!!!!! My rf 83's are in shipping now and should be her by Christmas. Anyway my front 63's are putting the bose to shame. I cant wait to see what the 83's and rc 64 will do. Even my wife could tell a difference so that says alot to me. : ) The left and right now drown out the bose center.

Does it matter how high above my tv that I mount my center channel shelf? I know I can angle the center down but does it affect the sound comming from the center if its to high above the tv? I am thinking about mounting the shelf about 2-3ft above my 60" sony so the shelf will be about 6-7ft from the ground. Whats the opinions in here?

Only problem with that is the wife and kids want it set up for surround sound. I might be able to hook them up to the second room source and just use it for audio and use the bose until I can set the rest up.
