  1. You dont have to believe me after all you dont even know me, here is the reply from a Klipsch rep. Maybe this will help make you a believer. Hi John --fellow Hoosier! -- Yes, the cherry finishes are being discontinued. You can probably find some good deals through our online partners like Vanns.com or Onecall.com, or Ovation likely has them here locally. Let me know if you have additional questions! --Amy Amy Unger Forum Administrator amy.unger@klipsch.com I take a random photo at Klipsch every day Visit us on Flickr and Twitter!
  2. That is why I was able to find the cherry stuff so cheap and the black at msrp.
  3. Direct from a Klipsch rep and some authorized sellers. [:$] Your right tommy boy who am I kidding. there will be no comparision.
  4. Normally I would say you are right, however Klipsch is not making any more rf speakers in cherry and if I want a match I would have to start looking soon as they will be in limited suppy in the future. I will see how the 63s do but if i can get another good deal on 83s like I did the 63s I would likely get them as long as I can still use the 63s in my system. So I was just wanting to know if they will work good in the back half of a 5.1 or 7.1 or do I just use surround speakers only?
  5. So are you saying the rf 63s would be ok to use as rears but not so good as sides? I just want to make sure I can use the rf63's if I dobuy the rf 83's
  6. If I end up getting the rf 83 and place them up front where should I put the rf 63's in the rear or sides for 7.1? Or would it be better to use the klipsch surround speakers for the sides and back. Is there any benefit to using the 63s in the sides or rear? Or are they betterr suited to be fronts only? Will the 63's sound better than the RS 62's? Or vise versa? They both would cost me the same, just wondering which one would sound better in the back or side of a 7.1 system.
  7. OH "MEDIOCRE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT A MINUTE. Let me call and cancel my order ASAP i'll stick with my BLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  8. That was where klipsch recommends it place in a corner. Isnt that what you want "boomy" or is the base to harsh by placing it near a corner I have this one about 1ft of the corner each was right now. I may have to move it and give that a listen. I am still trying to set the sub up correctly. Not sure about the 0 or 180 switch.
  9. Your right! You think the 83s up front and 63s at the rear would sound incredible? What could a better sub do for the system? I need to find someone that knows how to calibrate this receiver and speakers. It does have a mic for auto calibration but I want to make sure its set right. Someone suggested 2 subs what would I do Y them together? ANd do I place it in the other front corner? I am sure the rc 64 will be a big improvement over the Bose center speaker!!!! The center may be here by friday but I may wait til xmas to open everrything as this will be my presents from the wife and kids. But the wait will kill me!!!!!!
  10. Yea, I wont I need the expert advise from you guys, as I know little about setting the system up. I am still looking for rf 83 cherry if I find a good buy on they I will use the 83's up font and the 63's in the rear. How do you think this set up will sound and will the sub 12 work ok? I am hoping for a great improvement over the bose. I hope it was money well spent zthat rc 64 is huge and heavy 63 lbs!!!!! Heavier than I would want to put on a wall shelf, so I may try to place it on top the tv somehow. Are these 63's and rc64 going to sound great and rock the house??????????? Let me know what you think!!!!!
  11. on the sub 12 where does the phase get set at 0 or 180 and do I set the dial on the sub to 120hz. I have it set at 80 on the receiver. I have no clue how to properly set and tune this thing. The receiver is the onkyo 706 if that helps.
  12. well i purchased the cherry rf63's and a cherry rc64 found another good deal on them $599 ea. I wanted the 83's but could not pass this up. If I find a deal on cherry 83's I will move these 63's to the rears.
  13. Ok give me some more advise on which speakerr sounds better RF-83 or RF-63 with the RC-64 as the center. Will my sub 12 work with this set up okay? What is the difference between a authorized and nonauthorized dealer? Help me out I am looking to buy Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Anyone hear of or buy from highdecibels.com ???? They seam to have low prices on there stuff.
  15. That's who had the deal. I called to order and they said they only have one and will not be getting anymore because they are not going to carry them anymore. I guess I am stuck with the Bose for now!
  16. Well I went to order the cherry rf-63's but the price was so low because they only had one and they are not going to carry them anymore. I am trying to see if I can find another dealer that has a good deal on them but no luck yet.
  17. Thanks, I would love to get the 83's but its hard to pass on the price of the 63's at $599.00. Since you have the 83's do they out perform the 63's if so in what way? Does the rc 62 or 64 center channel match better with the 83 or 63 or both equally. And what is timber???? Also I will mostly use these speakers for movies, xbox 360,music and ps3 in that order. Will the speakers perform well for HT and gaming? I have heard some people complain that there is a break in and klipsch sound flat or harsh is any of this true?
  18. ok, now what about the rf 82 vs the rf 63 which is a better sounding speaker and can deliver higher quality sound with less distortion while providing good highs, mid and base. If you were buying which one would you get not looking at price.
  19. What is a good price for the rf-83's? If I can get them close to the 599 to 799 price I may get those instead.
  20. Wow you are right the cherry 83's look good over there. How big is your room? I thought the 83's might be overkill but now you got me wondering. can the 63's crank out the music and movie ssounds loudly with no distortion or do I need to move up to the 83's for my large room? Is the 599 price a good price for the cherry 63's. Would the 83's or 63's be a better match for my receiver onkyo 706. Is either speaker to much for the amp? or can the amp handle both with the rc-64 and surrounds?
  21. I am looking for a little more sound and I think the rf-63's would be better than the XF. I was looking to use the XF center but was quickly told that it was not a good match for the rf-63. A shelf may be my only option. But it would be sitting back behind the tv and to the top of it. I dont know if it would sound different coming from the rear of the tv as opposed to the front. Can the rc-62 match up to the rf-63 or to I need the rc-64 center. The 64 is almost 3ft long and I would need to mount a 4 foot shelf. It can be done with a little extra work. Is the rf-63 setup better that the XF-48 setup??? Or not?Does anyone know if klipsch is discontinuing the rf series in cherry? I may be piecing the system together over time and I do not want to have it discontinued while I am building my sound system.
  22. So wood color is just personal preference. It looks like the matching surround speakers for the RF-63 only come in black. I would like everything to match if I can. Are the 63's better speakers than the 82's. That center rc-64 is huge 34" i think. That is why i asked about the rc-62 it seems more managable in my stand. I see alot of people haave the cherry speakers and have mixed in blacks. Is there a preference for the cherry or black or is it just what you like. I am not sure how the cherry would look. All my othere a/v stuff is black or silver. Can I place a center speak like the rc-64 so close to ther ground or would I loose quality? Does anyone know if the black rf-63 ever sell for $600 a piece? Why are the cherry ones so much cheaper?
  23. How does the RF-82 compare with the RF-63? Is one better than the other and why? What are the strong and weak points of each?
  24. There is no way to adjust the shelf they are glass and rest on square steel tubing. It is the sony stand that matched the 60" sony lcd projection tv I have purchased about 3yrs ago. The only thing I may be able to do is notch out the steel tube that supports the top shelf and then I would get 8" on the bottom rack but that is so close to the ground. If I put a shelf on the wall it would be sitting about 2 1/2 ft behind the tv and I do not think it would look so good.Yea the $1200 for a pair of rf-63 is making me think about the cherry for the $$ savings over the black, but to me the black goes betterin my home and the cherry is more retro looking, if that makes since. Is there any difference in sound quality between the black or cherry? Is it different wood or are they just refering to the color and the wood is the same. Is tghe RC-62 a good match for the RF-63??? I see its 8" high so I may be able to cut the square tubing and place it on the bottom rack. Do you tink that it would then be sitting to low to the ground. It woould only be about 1 1/2" off the ground.
