  1. yep the bandpass add on for the ti mids n tweets, nice huh, course i just got the x-overs with bandpass board from the get go, all i can say about the whole upgrade is that it's uber-smooth from top to bottom with no gaps. Congrats John, so watcha think ? how would you describe the difference with it added on?
  2. Try powercycling your router or updating its firmware, quick tip, if you log in to its little Admin portal most have little built in update pages to do this or just google-fu the model the number + manual and see if you can find instructions or firmware patch file.
  3. The mids sound seemless and smooth with the Crites Ti Tweeter, there may be some x-over weirdness happening if you indicated you recently upgraded here : http://community.klipsch.com/forums/p/141614/1499437.aspx#1499437 Im still running stock, the other two folks i know that havem, John-Chitown i believe has Crites' x-overs with stock values newer parts, and SET12 has his mutant self made x-overs. Ti mids with Phenolic Tweet would not sound as seemless as having the Ti tweet, unsure if your running it that way.
  4. Sci-fi for me would be the end all -- Holodeck ... computer ..load Pink Floyd concert circa 197x ... or those that prefer speakers ... computer load speaker system blah blah with list of these modifications ... woot!!
  5. Heh ... sighs .. *sad face* but hopes for the best
  6. Got 3 decks that need a little tape head TLC -- Technics RS1506 - 4 track version -- Teac 3340s - 4 track -- Teac 4300sx - 2 track, anyone know who redoes heads very well on the dime?
  7. Btw im still running stock networks fellas, they are still at the top of mids food chain regardless modded or not, K53Ti > Crites > Stock Diaphragms.
  8. Cool, we told ya you'd like em, yes everything sounds much more realistic, definitely a better window into the music, keep us posted with more impressions.
  9. If something happens to the employees we're all gonna be collectively peeved, course could i also suggest starting Clipsch : The Other Horn Company ? Let us know if you need donations to make this happen ...
  10. Just remember that the fat connection on the diaphragm is your hot/yellow, i had to snip off my connectors on the forte's because they didn't fit, and soldered the wires on directly, have fun and yes the packaging was unfortunately meh ;( , but at least i gottem. ;D
  11. With Bob's Ti Tweets and the Ti Mids, integrate perfectly, i havent noticed any audible oddities just a big improvement over phenolics, with x-over upgrades this is effectively a Forte III, i can't imagine the improvement, im spazztic just thinking about it.
  12. Yep thems the diaphragms only, its like 187 after taxes, they were noticeably better right out of the box SET, you will be surprised, i did a direct AB back and forth between bob's and K53 Ti's and preferred the Ti's by a large margin even after having a couple hundred hrs of burn in on Bobs, im sure the Ti's will improve in their own way as well, it integrates seemlessly with Bob's own Ti Tweeters that i have installed, much respect to bob for improving on the standard phenolic mids with his own version.
  13. I know crazy, i havent contacted klipsch yet, i feel like a numbnut for not knowing, but yes frickin fantastic jump in transparency, im waiting for SET12 on this forum and on the audiokarma forum who has those ridiculous xovers on his fortes to chime in and let us know if he's ordered them or has them already, he showed interest last i spoke to him, I guess the only thing that beats this would be beryllium diaphragms if thats even possible, would probably cost some serious beaucoup bucks tho, but klispch or crites for insanity's sake lets make it happen, wouldn't mind some 30hz-50khz Forte's !!
  14. I completely forgot about that ... i didnt even ask if was 85.00 with drivers per .. because at 84.00 for just the diaphragms it would be a no brainer to have spare parts if it simply a dollar more. Damn.
  15. I had the Crites diaphragms for a good 6 months or more, so they definitely got some good burn in time, between movies and music, they were a definite upgrade from the stock at the time, Bobs' diaphragms definitely need time to open up, out the box the soundstage can sound collapsed but after sometime they really open up, it really isnt a fair comparison to compare them to out of the box versions but vs the fully burned in version they are still an upgrade, but aside from they that the Ti's are a definite upgrade from Bobs' and credit to bob for providing the Ti tweets, this setup matches well with my modern warm sounding Harman Kardon 7.1 Receiver
  16. Stock Phenolics --- > Bob Crite's New Improved Phenolic -- > Klipsch K53 Ti Diaphragms The Ti is nice upgrade from both types of phenolics I've had, I even compared the stock phenolics to the crites and noticed they were nice improvement but this is definite step above even that set of diaphragms, they definitely integrate more seamlessly with the Ti tweeters diaphragms i got from Bob.
  17. Installed K53 Ti's ...coming Bob Crites' Improved Phenolic Mids. Incredibly impressed, they are another no brainer purchase, better in every respect with no downside sonics wise, just simply outstanding, i did a side by comparison, with bobs .. and one ti driver, reversing stereo comparing tracks ... reversing stereo again with foobar2000, leaning to one side than the other to see how both did with each tracks, and the Ti was significantly more transparent and natural, you can definitely hear more into the music, whatever you liked from the Ti tweeter upgrade youll get in the midrange but oh so much sweeter, btw one thing i noticed was that i got a blank diaphragm with no yellow or gray mark indicating polarity and different connectors that didnt fit, i had to snip off my connectors and directly solder the wires onto the diaphragms connectors, apparently the fatter of the two connections on the diaphragms is the postive or hot, found this out by doing a quick search on the klipsch forums, aside from that im addictive and amazed, ill definitely be up listening to tunes as late as i can hehe. Anyways ill be burning these things for quite sometime to see how they evolve. Oh, that 84.00 each is for the Ti diaphragms, they come packaged just like you get from bobs in a little box,, not sure with the word kit comes into play, its the same dealy you install them the same you would bobs : http://www.critesspeakers.com/k-53_diaphragm_replacement.html
  18. Looks like the k53ti diaphragm kit are 84.00 each not a pair ... came out to 187 and some change.
  19. Yeah how do we get the option to buy just the diaphragms without resorting to buying the whole darn driver like you did..
  20. Hehe Jackson likes to chime in and make random smartass comments from time to time Cool tolt pipeline, im on the other side in kingsgate, kirkland off of NE124th ...
  21. Just to let you know bob's diaphragms take a fantastically long time to burn in, but when they do they sound very very nice, the soundstage improves, becomes even smoother. I guess I'm gonna have to grab some Ti diaphragms to see what the hooplas about.
  22. Cool, keep us posted, sounds like its gonna be an interesting comparison ... that and itll be damn good to have tunes again.
  23. Yeah i know huh but yeah I'd be down to get some three floyds brewski's if were in that area ... course if you were in my neck of the woods, Redhook brewery is only a couple blocks from my house, not to mention the two wineries next to it, and too many other microbreweries to list in my vicinity. ;p ;D
  24. Cool at least you got something, im curious to hear a direct comparison between klipsch's Ti mid diaphragms and crites' new improved phenolic, keep us posted
  25. I decided to put the stock ones in for a bit to listen to them .... ick ... after a couple minutes of listening yes they have that slightly better height but at the sacrifice of detail, its sounds muffled in comparison to crites' midrange diaphgragms, this was especially noticeable when listening to vinyl, the thinness that i noticed with crites was simply a correction, it was more detail, was flatter, way smoother and you could hear more into the depth of the music, at the same volume level the stock was ever slightly louder, that upper midrange harshness that everyone speaks of is very very noticeable after having swapped back. Anyways it was a 1 hr experiment, I played a variety of jazz, supertramp, rush 2012, the xx, cowboy junkies trinities sessions .. all on LP, anyways it gave me the satisfaction of having made a good purchase, the crites mids are back in the speakers pumpin good tunes.
