i need to build a sound system like a quintet thing for my family... we want small speakers, nothing really bigger than the sats for the quintet... i know there are small ones, they can be bigger though. I need a receiver, speakers.. you know, everything involved with building a surround sound system. This will be both for music and for DVD... I just need the speakers and the power for them eg} amp receiver... This should fall around $3000 or less Here is another thing. If you could build a total HT system with around $3000 or lessamerican... including big tv, dvd, and sound w/ receiver... what would you get? thanks, i need this infor ASAP for both of these i would like to spend less than $2000 but i realize that tht may not be possible... for the just sound system... what compares to the System 6 and Quintet... are they way different? i am getting the new 5.1's. i would pay the hundred bucks more if i was you. but that is just me... have a much better sounding as well as a center channel will be great. the center channel is not the biggest change really, most easily seen but a bigger better sub, new control pod, new crossover, new sats... i would definatly get the 5.1... i saw the pro 400 and 4.1 at best buy for 250 and 299 yesterday... do not look for the price to drop is what they told me. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/

from what i understood from him, he would want a new sub and center channel and keep the old setup. have two subs and 5 satelites. if you wanted to you could buy the sub and center channel and just get rid of the CP-1 and the old sub, but what a waste. while you are at it, why not just get a y connecter and use two subs. that system would rock... now that i think of it. but the crossover in teh satelites is new, even newer than teh 4.1's. the sub ranges hae been raised to take less of the base from teh satelites, there may be some problems using old sats. with new crossover. ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/

I have a Sony PCV-RX260DS, will this run on it??? i want to buy it today while i am in town... no reason, jsut want to try something other than Windows. i have Windows ME and i want to network... something keeps my comptuers from networking... it all worked, reinstalled windows, now the settings are where they always were but it still will not network. that is ok case we are getting rid of the old computer... will this run fsat? i like speed. i have ehard it is very fast. like, is it fast on even 133 MHz Pentium processers??? faster than Win. 95 at least??? thanks ------------------ -justin http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/berry/88/

trust me, if klispch thought that they could help you guys out by making an upgrade, they would have. they made teh 4.2 for ppl wanting the 4.1... what you should do is stop complaining. the wiring in the satelites and the sub are different... that could casue problems and more ocmplaints from ppl like you who want to get more than they deserve. if you sold your 4.1 on the net, eg eBay, and considered how much you would spend on the "upgrade" you might be able to afford 5.1's. The reason it would cost more is that they would need a totally different assembly line, new boxes built, new specs, it would just be too much for a product that many ppl would probably not buy, just a sselective few. what ppl buying such systems like the promedias should do is realize that things improve. and in good companies, they listen to their customers and do waht they say... you can not get mad at klipsch for just answering our prayeres for a 4.1 system improvement and then the 5.1 system. we ask for a Digital Decoder... what are we getting? Has anyone heard of these ppl? i was in the mediajukebox forum and this perseon said that he could not hear a difference in teh EQ. I told him that cheap speakers could be the culprit and suggested Klipsch ProMedia's. He said that he had really nice speakers, infact, that they were Mission Speakers. I have never heard of these... what are they, like compared to Klipsch Paradigm and AR? Price wise, are they expensive for what you get? They are not impressive by the looks or by the specs from whati have seen. Also, what is the deal with Martin Logan speakers? are they great? I have heard that they are the very best, they are very expensive. What is a "electrostatic speaker"? They brag on tehm.. Is this why you dont see the speakers? Just a ggiant grill?
