  1. I didn't realize that actually....I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all per say. It just got me thinking.
  2. I've always wanted to acquire a headphone amp, but never understood the extreme cost. I have this 15 year old Onkyo 2-channel stereo amplifier that I RCA-jack my I-pod into and then plug the headphones into the headphone port of the amp. The sound is way better than just that coming out of the I-pod though likely not better than a purpose built headphone amplifier. It's more of the 'Red Green' show approach, but no duct tape is required.
  3. I'll give it a try. You're the best. Thanks. The speakers are in 'like new' condition and I plan to have them for decades to come.
  4. I have a set of Sennheiser HD555. Though arguably not 'audiophile' quality, a good value with tremendous sound. They are a so-called open ear design so realize that others around you will hear the bleed through. Above all else, extremely comfortable to wear! The cup seal is suede in nature and minimizes prespiration around the periphery. I would describe the sound as 'warm'. On the earbud front, I have a set of Etymotic ER-6s. For places where I don't want to advertise that I'm wearing headphones or simply need the compactness, they're amazingly good for such a small package. Be prepared that in exchange for their noise blocking properties, they're like wearing foam ear plugs, as in the 'I'm running a chainsaw' sense. Simply put, they can be uncomfortable in the long haul. Still, quite amazing for such a small package.
  5. After 16 years of acting as a cat scratching post & territorial boundary marker, my pair of 4.2s could use new speaker covers. Where should I look? Yes, I've checked E-Bay. Thanks all.
