  1. Yes, but it has to be done on the Admin side of it. W.C. with Panacea did the same.

I believe you're mistaken. Panacea has a post count of 67.

  2. Mr. Woody told me i was second in line to buy them right after someone from craigslist. i emailed and asked for some nicer pictures ( i also emailed you to see if you were in the running ) and he told me that he had several people before me and they were offering more than his asking price. his last email was sorry they are sold.

what i can't understand is i told him 2 hours after he posted them here i want them if they are consec serial numbers because he typed them in wrong. 24 hours later he posts the right serial numbers and asks if anyone has any questions. what part of I WANT THEM doesn't he understand

That sucks. Sounds like what I run into with craigslist all the time. I didn't think it was suppose to happen here. Good luck on your search.

  3. First one didn't work due to the country of origin.Huh?

Hmm...didn't realize UMG was also blocking that video stateside. Hmm It only told me Germany on my end. Not cool. Thanks for the heads up. Left Hug

The second one the bass sounds so horrendous I cannot make an honest comment Indifferent

Maybe I should have just stated that an emphasized midbass is not natural.

Well, that's to be expected to a degree with not being able to compare to the first one.

"It Could Be Sweet" by Portishead typically sounds like this through the web:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKlrUHAZWQ0

Is that without any midbass bump? Sounds like it on my end but I like it. Sounds alot like Sade to me.

  4. Overlap is overlap and it just becomes personal enjoyment but it is not accurate and never will be.

I'm gonna pull an "Ethan Winer" here and let the golden ears decide.

Grab the earbuds and listen to this, paying particular attention to the quality of the bass:

Then listen to the second song in this one:

In the last video, is the subwoofer actually passing a signal? Music

First one didn't work due to the country of origin.[:^)]

  5. Mid-bass is where it's at for two-channel listening....for the most part. Yes

I cannot make sense of that. Please educate me...

Wow, this one slipped through the cracks! Sorry for the delayed response Dave. Embarrassed

midbass The range of frequencies from 40-80Hz

    http://www.stereophile.com/content/sounds-audio-glossary-glossary-i-m

I realize that you're into some very deep bass. That's cool...very cool. However, I'm referring to music where the kick drum is just that....it kicks. I usually put a bump in the 40-80hz range of my PEQ that is eqing the subs.

I've had subs in the past that were capable of digging much deeper....and when trying to play them "deep" with typical rock and roll music that relies heavily on a pulsing, chest pounding effect type of bass the "deep" bass was always lagging behind. Very cool....but never fully "in" the music.....slow.

I'm not saying it's neccessary to try and break everything in your house. It just seems that the mid-bass frequencies and up are the most "musical" and they are the most effective for most types of music. Not discounting "deep" bass...I think it needs to be there for the full effect but emphasis on mid-upper bass rather than deep, infrasonic bass will be more articulate and accurate.

You will not win that argument anywhere in the audiophile world Scott. Anything to change the natural characteristics of the music or musical instruments will be in direct conflict with the goals of the audiophile world. But after saying that I am with you on the midbass punch and enjoy it immensely. I have a pair of subs that excell in midbass slam but if i want to listen to music in a critical matter they are turned off. Once you overlap your mains with a sub which between 40hz-80hz which actually the punch tends to be more towards 100hz you have left the fidelity of your main speakers. Overlap is overlap and it just becomes personal enjoyment but it is not accurate and never will be.

  6. Those who don't use them do not because we don't need them.

The word of the day, "need". Obviously one persons "needs" are different than anothers.

In all seriousness though, my Chorus II's are capable of giving great listening enjoyment without any aid.

It is those times when I really want to raise the roof I am able to do so without making my Chorus carry the burden.

Let the "club" subs feel the strain. It also doesn't neccessarily take high volumes to feel the music either. It just adds another level of enjoyment to my music experience.

  7. Many guys out there, myself included...don't neccesarily use subs to dig deeper. We use them because we enjoy the benefit of the added "energy" in the bass response. Stronger, fuller, more powerful etc.

    [Y]

I figure since I have a "club" amp might as well have a pair of "club" subs. I'll be back later I'm headed to the "club".[:D]

  8. I dont think the op mentioned chorus, but I have a set of Cll"s and my buddy has original cw"s, both unmolested. For a few years we both had near identicle amps, pioneer sx-1080 and 1050, imo the cll"s smoked the cw"s. I know there is about a 15 year difference there, and he badly needs to update the cw"s, but the chorus takes up half the space and sound so much better, would like to hear a set of cwlll"s. I believe the size of the cw"s really impresses alot of folks and they are a little swayed by that alone. If i"m not mistaken that is the reason PWK came out with the chorus in the first place, the original cw was just a huge box with alot of empty wasted space, so he re-designed it and called it chorus. I also think the Cll with the passive sounds quite a bit better than the first ported Cl. Like another poster said, I would buy whatever comes up in the heritage line and play with them awhile, if you buy smart you can always get your money back plus some.......Roost

    We hear alike Roost! [Y]

  9. I think the comments about the failure rate are suspect.

I made a comment about that in another thread because I feel for people that are having issues with that woofer. Just from three of us here on the forum which is myself, SWL and a mutual friend Mike we had 9 out of 12 woofers that were bad in our KLF 30's. That is just to name a few of us that have had issues. Seems like unless someone buys off of one of us Klipsch members they are buying KLF 30's with bad woofers.

I got a replacement from Klipsch and had to send it back because it was bad from the factory.

There is a problem somewhere but hopefully it gets worked out.

  10. The Quartet is almost 4 decilbles less sensitive @1watt/1meter. The specs say it will play 1 hz lower at 38 whereas the Chorus II is 39hz but since you own both you know that is almost hard to believe because the Chorus II seems to play lower as well. Basically the Chorus II does everything the Quartet does only bigger and better. Now if it is floor space you are looking for then the Quartet is the obvious choice. I will leave with the obvious disclaimer that this is IMHO.

  11. K-31-K

    Many thanks.

I feel for you. Out of all the speakers I've ever owned I have only had problems with one woofer and it would be the K-31-K. Klipsch told me after I bought my first batch that you couldn't purchase them any longer. This was about a year ago so I hope things have changed and the old K-31-K production line is back up and running. I have just never seen so many failures as this particular woofer.
