  1. From the information I can find, it should be. I have also been considering the Grado Black1 Prestige Series. I have no intent on scrathing any records. But I was intrigued by the "Low bass" and the higher output the Shure boasted.
  2. I have purchased a Pioneer PL-115d. I love this thing. I want to install a new headshell and cartridge, and this appears to be a good deal. Can anyone give me any input? http://www.turntablelab.com/dj_equipment/40/2193/1894.html I need a new headshell and cartridge, so this looks like the best method of purchasing these items... Thanks for any help/info guys!
  3. I'm buying used. I like projects! I don't have to worry about the WAF right now... But might be an issue one day. haha I would love to have a larger room and be able to A/B both speakers. I agree that different music/songs would sound better on different speakers/gear. I am using very sub-par SS equipment right now for the CWs. A Pioneer SX-950 receiver. I like the sound, but I need to consider upgrading if I do get the La Scalas... The avatar pic is what inspired this La Scala quest...
  4. I like the idea of having both Cornwall and La Scalas. But I am very curious to hear what the Cornscala sounds like. I haven't ever been let down by the CW...
  5. All this info is reassuring. I just wanted to confirm that I was making the right choice buying these LS's. Deep down I was hoping to hear that the La Scala is hands down, a better accuracy performer. I listen to a lot of jazz and classical, and the CW seems to get a little "lost/confused" in a quick paced bass line... I'm not going to be getting rid of the Cornwalls anytime soon anyways. So, the La Scala purchase is a win & win situation. The only spare equipment I have right now is a H/K TP 430. I feel like the specs should be enough to match with the LS. Am I right to think that it should be a decent combo? ,
  6. Dtel, the % was just for comparison. Like a scale of "1-10'ish" type deal. If you follow me. Not actually a measure of anything. I will pursue this Cornscala. That has me fascinated. Indy, your post just about has me sold on the La Scala. That's what I needed to hear. I wish the K-Horn was in my budget. I have the home theater taken care of. I am purchasing the La Scalas soley for two channel use with a tuner and turntable. The room is 14 x 14.... haha.
  7. [] I know this has been talked about a thousand times. But I want to talk about it a little more before I make this purchase. I currently use Cornwalls, Heresys, and Klipsch Legend equipment... I am want to purchase some La Scala's. I think it may be just to calm/subside my addiction to Klipsch equipment... But, my actual question is to those who own or have listened to both. I'm concerned about the clarity of the La Scala. Will I notice a huge difference between the Cornwall and the La Scala on the same equipment/amp/receiver? I listen to a lot of big band, jazz, rock, and classical. The Cornwalls keep up with ease and have never let me down... Where do the La Scalas stand? Would it be ok to say they are 20% "cleaner"/"more punchy"... 30%, 10%, 5%??? I am just using the percentages for comparison. Obviously, nothing is actually being measured... Thanks for all the help in advance!
  8. A7S - 450 Subwoofer - $50 more??? Would this be worth entertaining? It has a larger driver. And I like the idea of a sealed enclosure. And thoughts?
  9. I am pretty much sold on the eD sub. Somebody want to give me a free one??! Great info and reviews.
  10. I have been keeping my eye on the A5-350, that really looks like a monster of a performer. I am glad to hear it's awesome. I will be checking local CList ads for SVS and eD stuff, but why would someone be selling these babies unless they are upgrading? :/
  11. I have been researching some Elemental Designs and SVS subs. I like what I see. I have about $800 to spend. I am not worried about how much space the cab will take up. I will be listening to a lot of movies and music. I am using KLF-20's as mains and the KLF-C7 as a center. I want a sub that can handle the 20hz - 80hz range with ease. I appreciate any advice in advance! -Thomas
  12. Gorgeous! I had the RF-5 and they did sound more "throaty" once I got them away from the wall...
  13. No, you wouldn't. I don't know of any TV that does multi-channel over its digital output. It wouldn't make sense to do that anyway since optical digital can only pass Dolby Digital and DTS for multi-channel sound. All you'd have to do is run an optical cable from your PS3 to your receiver. You'll get Dolby Digital and DTS but none of the HD audio codecs. Sounds logical. I can surely live with DTS in the mean time....
  14. Thanks fellas! I'm sure a great deal on a PS3 will come up on the local craigslist after xmas. I was worried about the load times. And most video gamers arernt too patient, so I figured they would be decent! But I don't have support for HDMI throught the Denon, I wonder if I patch the HDMI to the tv, and from the TV's optic out back to the reciever if I would gain multi channel support??? And I have all the driver's to the Cornwalls, but I'm currently servicing the cabs, and hopefully using the CT-125 tweeters...
  15. Youthman, what are you thoughts on the PS3 as a Bluray player? Load times / ease of use? Does it have spdif audio?
