  1. I am not worried about the 5.1. I would just like to have it in case of future speakers. I currently have 2 speakers and a sub. I could even use a 2.1 amp. I am just wondering if there are any 2.1 or 5.1 receivers with 100w per/ch. That have an input selection that says optical or something like that.
  2. My previous setup was a samsung 32inch with my yamaha htr 5730. I was just plugged in with an av to headphone jack to the audio out headphone jack in the back of the tv. I got a new TV and the only audio out it has is an optical out. My reciever has an optical out but it has to be paired with an AV out to work. My question is are there any 5.1 receivers with 100w per ch. that will run any sound going through the TV with just an optical out. Any help would be great. I would really like to have my sound back while watching tv or playing games. Thanks, Kevin
  3. Would the KG4's be equivalent to the Heresy's, Forte's, or Chorus's. I have seen excellent quality of these go for actually quite cheap.
  4. I am kind of in a bind right now. I have two EPI 180's, two Infinity RSe's, and a velodyne subwoofer. I listen to a lot of 2.1 for music but also love to watch movies. I think I could get around $400 out of the four speakers still keeping the subwoofer. I am having trouble deciding what to buy once I sell the speakers. Obviously I want Klipsch but I do not know which ones. I think I can stretch my budget to about 500. I want the all around best sounding klipsch. I also want them to be very loud (AKA shake your house loud). I am running a Yamaha HTR 3750 103w/ch 5 ch. receiver, which I could sell if the speakers you recommend would do better with a different receiver. Also in the future when my wallet is a little thicker I want to be able to match these with 3 more for a 5.1 setup. My question is what is the best sounding, loudest Klipsch floor speaker old or new I do not care. Still keeping in mind my 500 dollar budget. However, I like the fact that old Klipsch speakers hold their value very well, and I like the look of old (I am only 19, so yes they are old). Also could you recommend what other 3 speakers I should match with the two fronts later on down the road. I hope you guys can help me spend my money well. Thanks for all the help, Kevin
  5. I have searched but had no luck at finding what I am looking for. I have a 12x12 apartment bedroom I am trying to find a complete 5.1 setup for. I am looking in around the 350 dollar range and am having trouble deciding what to get. I am also trying to find a good center for my living room. I like listening to music and movies and prefer a great all around sound, LOUD bass and crystal highs. For my living room I am running a velodyne va 1215 xii, EPI 180's front, Infinity RSe's rear, and yamaha htr 3750 5.1 reciever. I picked all of this up all brand new rebuilt by a professional for $500. I beleive the sub alone was well over 1000 new. I am looking for a good matching center for the living room in the 100 dollar range and also would like your guys recommendations on a wall mount 5.1 complete with amp setup for around 350. Thanks a bunch, Kevin
  6. Well guys thanks for all of your help but i picked up some speakers in Kansas City the other day. I got two EPI M180 which have to 8 inch woofers and two inverted dome tweeters. They are now in excellent condition after I recovered the grills. I also got a pair of almost mint Infinity RSe speakers which have a 10 inch woofer and electrostatic tweeter. All four were recently rebuilt with oem materials and done by some guys who specialize in EPI and Infinity speakers, including new foam, cones, crossovers, capacitors for the EPI's, and dust covers. I picked this all up for 250 dollars which I think is a steal for all of them in almost new condition. However, thanks for all of the help and even though I didn't get Klipsch I am still a diehard Klipsch fan. When I find a good set of Forte's, Cornwall's, or some other style for cheap I will jump at the chance to get them.
  7. Yesterday I went to look at some speakers and decided to pick up four of them. They are not klipsch which was what I was hoping for but are great quality. I picked up a pair of EPI 180's and a pair of mid 80's infinity speakers 2 way with ribbon tweeters. All four were reconed, refoamed, with all new crossovers, capaciters and so on. The cabinets were in amazing condition and all original. I got all four of them for $200 and let me tell you they sound great. Just thought I would share my excitement with you all.
  8. I am located in Lawrence, Kansas currently (KU). But I am in Wichita, Kansas at my parents house all of the time.
  9. I grew up listening to my dad's KG 4.2's which he still uses to this day and their quality of highs and bass is amazing. I am looking at buying 2 floor speakers and really would like a pair of 4.2's but am on a budget (250 dollars). I have a 5.1 yamaha amp with 105w x 5 channel RMS. I am looking the KG 4.2's or something with comparable bass and highs being able to go just as loud without distortion. What would you guys consider. I would also like, in the future, to add some rear speakers and/or a subwoofer to this setup. Thanks, Kevin
