  1. Need a pair for your La Scala's?
  2. Any thoughts on this as a mod? I've heard the K43 is good mod for the LS, but not for the Khorn. I read that Klipsch did have an industrial version of the Cornwall II, but I'm not sure if it came with the K43 though... I've got a pair of Cornwall 1's (mid 70's vintage) and was wondering if the K43 would be a good driver replacment for the stock K33??? Thanks guys, JB
  3. Ray, Thanks for the input !! Yep, the Audiosource does have high level inputs and that's how I'm planning to hook it up... BTW, this is an older Audiosource subwoofer that I was using in my home theater and threw in to this system for testing purposes... It is a powered subwoofer with it's own internal crossover... I tried the low level inputs, but wasn't getting the gain I needed to keep up with the Khorns... I started this because I just got these Khorns into true corners in order to get the "real" bass that everyone talks about, but so far haven't seen any. I've got a 22' x 14' room and they're sitting on the long side... Of course when I hit the "loudness" button on the preamp I get all kinds of bloated bass, but when running normally without the loudness button on and the bass & treble set to flat, I get very little deep bass.. I plan to submit a drawing of my living room layout to the board and a full description of the situation for feedback, but couldn't resist inserting it here... Any thoughts??
  4. Well... Sort of bi-wiring. Here's what I'm currently doing: Currently I'm running a Dynaco ST-70 through an Audiosource subwoofer where the subwoofers internal crossover is then shooting off the highs, mids, & upper lows to a pair of Klipschorns. Here's what I'm think of doing: From a bi-wiring perspective, running 2 sets of Lefts & 2 sets of Rights out of the Dyna, but instead of sending both to the Khorns, 1 set would go to the subwoofer which would only amplify the lows and 1 set would go to the Khorns which would be full range??? What I'm trying to do is: 1. Avoid degrading the signal going to the Khorns (currently passing throught sub's internal crossover) 2. The Khorns do go down low, just not subwoofer low.. The combo of the 2 should fill out the lower regions better than just the subwoofer & 3. Not screw up my Dyna ST-70 by presently some sort of abnormal load or something... So, at the end of the day, does this configuration present any abnormal or damaging load to the Dyna (2 sets of leads, 1 going to sub, 1 going to Khorn)??? Thanks for any & all input!!
  5. Hi Everybody, I've seen alot on the net about DIY high grade speaker cables made from Category 5 network cable and I've also heard alot of people rag on the lamp chord used in the Khorns (and others..).. so.. Has anybody here thought of building a set of cat 5 cables and rewiring the Khorn internals with it?? Any technical reasons why it shouldn't be done?? Here's a link to a DIY recipe with some technical info: http://www.geocities.com/venhaus1/diycatfivecables.html Any input or feedback on the idea would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, John
