  1. Hi I forgot to add that audio is connected to reciever via optical cable.
  2. hey guys, still pretty sleepy from the weekend of setting up the speakers, playing with the ps3, and hanging out with my 16 month old daughter. good times! Ok, here I go….. i set up the 82s and was wondering how do i configure everything most awesomely. my receiver is a 5.1 yamaha with 120w per channel. the 82s, i did not configure them using the bi wire option. Is this where you connect 2 wires in both the positive and negative terminals of the speaker and join each pair together at the receiving positive and negative receiver end? on my ps3, i deselected the DTS 5.1, AAC, and the other DTS option. the only options checked are the PCM with the 2 lowest kHz. i wonder what does the higher kHz mean, more audio info? i guess a better receiver would utilize the higher PCM settings? Am I missing out here? as i understand, if my receiver is setup to perform 5.1, whereas i only have 2 fronts and 1 center, it will play as if its 5.1 without the rears. now if i setup to use 2 channel, sound comes through the fronts and none at the center. How should I configure, do I keep it at 5.1 setup? Or 2 channel setup? Whats ideal? i dont believe my receiver has crossover adjustment for the yamaha sub. what should i do in this case? does my receiver have anything to do with outputting crisp highs to the speakers? i was watching xmen last stand last night. the scene where prof x tries to stop phoenix, I notice that dialogue and crashing noises were not as high as id like. Suggestions? or is this the way the movie is? Thanks all!
  3. hey all, i started getting serious about diet and exercise jan 1. i started at 20% body fat and now at 15%. i will be participating in my first sprint triathlon the end of june. i am currently 32, 5'5, 172 lbs. my end goal is to be around 12%(i want visible stomach muscles!). i have plateued since april. i am pretty sure running more should burn the rest. btw OP, congrats!
  4. thanks all. actually its in the low 80s and they are still boxed up. just a little paranoid since they are my first speakers ever!
  5. hi, my speakers just came i was wondering if i can store them in the garage for a few days? will the heat and humidity cause any damage? i am pretty damn excited. i plan on setting things up as soon as i get the house organized.
  6. ok, thanks all....from reading through all the rf82 related posts, i think i will now spend the additional 200$ to up the ante! i havent read anyone who sold the 82s to step down to the 62s. i guess if years down the road, i could always use the 82s for rears?!
  7. hey all , thanks for the quick replies. i found out the shipping is going to be an extra 90dollars whereas the 62s ship for free. the 82s will be ~200 bucks for for the additional 1.5 woofer inches. nezff, may i ask when/why you decided to upgrade to the 63's?
  8. other than the fact that now i can purchase the 82s at about the same price i was about to pay for the 62s! but now the 62s are cheaper.......so now im all kinds of confused! ive read the the 82s give more bass due to the larger woofer size and that some say no subwoofer is needed. there is no dealer around my way that carries the 82s. all i can assume is that its a louder version of the 62s. would the 82s have a noticeable clarity improvement at medium volume level? thanks all! btw, i will also be ordering the center 62s. *i have a yamaha reciever that has supposedly 120w per channel. i plan on upgrading the reciever sometime next year and purchasing the read speakers.
  9. also, why get the rc52 as suppose the rc62? if the 63 is too loud, couldnt you just calibrate the center to lower the volume?
  10. hi all, i may be purchasing these speakers today. i hope you resolve your issues. when i heard the 62s at the audio store, i was really impressed. i am new to audio. from reading about your issue, you have problems with blending the left and right speaker noise together and that the left speaker sounds louder? other than that issue, are you happy with the sound?
  11. Hey guys, thanks for the replies. The rf 83 and 63s are past my budget for speakers. I heard the 62s and I wasreally impressed so I will stick with those. Yesterday I checked out the energy 70s since they are going for half off, and to me I prefer the 62s way more. Question, do these speakers ever go 1/2 off? Should I wait for a slick deal to pop up? I see other brands go on sale for a lot of savings, not sure if it holds true for klipchs. All I k ow I watched a YouTube video of the r 5s ? Playing 300 and it was awesome. What other parts should I order? Any kind of speaker wire recommend? These speakers are my first ever purchase in audio equipment. The sound I heard is like my ears have been unclogged!
  12. hi, the rc-62 will cost an additional 420$. i figured id enjoy the ps3 and music and wait till i get enough blu-ray content before upgrading the reciever to support trueHD etc..? probably at that same time, purchase the 2 rears. i was surprised how clear and deep the sound comes out the speakers. i didnt know what i was missing all these years!
  13. hello all, i am thinking about purchasing the rf-62 pair with the center channel for my living room (~15x15?). i currently have a yamaha rec rated at 120w? i bought the reciever @ best buy a few yrs ago. i believe these are the specs yamaha Audio D/A Converter 24bit / 192kHz Surround System Class 5.1 channel Amplifier Output Details 120.0 Watt - 6.0 Ohm - THD 0.9 % - 5.0 channel(s) ( Subwoofer ) , 120.0 Watt - 6.0 Ohm - 1.0 channel(s) ( Surround ) i stoped by the audio/video store and was impressed right away. it definitly is a major upgrade compared to the speakers that came with the yamaha. i will be watching movies, ps3, and listening to music and such. the sales person qouted my ~790 for the pair which is around 100 less from what i have seen online. what do you guys think? thanks
