  1. i just bought the SR8002 for 1399 from 6ave. sweet!!
  2. The 7001 has 4in/1out. You can see the specs here. The Marantz 7002 has 4in/2out. There are probably a few reasons why you might need 2 outs, most people would not. In a dedicated theater room, you could have one HDMI out going to a plasma mounted on the wall for normal TV viewing. Then when it's movie time, drop down a motorized screen in front of the plasma and have the second HDMI going to the projector. In an ideal world, that's what I would have going on. LOL. the reason id have 2 is so i can watch the same thing in my workout room. ihave a dvr in the bed room and id need a second hdmi going to the work out room so i dont have to watch commercials. and my remote is the RF so it works through walls on 2.4 ghz channel. thank god for direct tv.
  3. music is my main reason for getting it aswell. i want to be able to 2ch it when im not watchinng movies and ge that awesome crisp punch fromt the rf83s
  4. the marantz has the exact capability i was looking for!!!! to be able to put A front speakers and B front speakers. I want to do 4 rf-83's and really beat up the room. this receiver is awesome
  5. Reading through this forum, I've read a lot of praises about the marantz. I decided to get one as well. I'm going with the sr8002. I hope I like it.
  6. That's awesome. I put in about 10 requests. I can't wait to see what kind of deals I can get
  7. Thanks for the info. Ill make sure they can breathe. If the don't sound good, I have 7 days to return them for a full refund
  8. okay... thanks, will do. i hope 6ave can give me a good name your price deal too it looks like he just joined today, i hope i sent a message to the right guy
  9. oh man oh man... time to go shopping []
  10. The more clean power you feed them, the louder they will go. Let's just say they can do permanent damage. I installed wiring for 7.1 although currently I'm running a 5.1 system. I would like to purchase the RS-52 or RS-62 but I have four young children and am putting my wife through graduate school so funds for the theater room take a back seat to my family's needs. We have worked hard to get out of debt so I am only willing to purchase things that I can pay cash for and right now, cash is going towards more important things. Well i have the rc-62 and pretty much decided that i am getting the rs-62, rb-61, rf-83, and rw-12d... my only hesitation is the receiver. i was told that rotel 1550 would have the in your face power that i would want to push those speakers with, but its doesnt have any geek goodies. youthman... is there another stand alone receiver that has goodies and more power (current) than that yamaha RX-V3900 and has goodies like hd radio, bluetooth and sirius maybe?
  11. would the RB-51 work well for a not so large room as surround sound back? and how do i want to mount the rs-42's for surround side because its got spearkers on 2 sides...
  12. will the RF-83's not be as loud as i need them to be? my ears should bleed right? if so, then thats really all i need... im sure the other stuff recommended will be great, but im sorta trying to be partial to klipsch and make it work. i realize the yamaha might not be the best for pushing current as a rotel would be but it has bells and wistles... like hd radio. and why dont you have surround side speakers? is there a special reason your left them out?
  13. that would make my ears bleeds [li] what is zoning?
  14. can you show me a picture of your surround back speakers?
  15. i am very creative, i will make over kill fit. what about that zoning stuff? what speakers do i need to put for that to work?
  16. If i had a nick name..... it would beeee OVERKILL. If there were lounder more powerful fronts like tripple 10's then I'd probably be buying those... [6] I wanted a 7.2 system where i could hook up 2 subs and have a 3rd heart beat every time i listened to music, but from the sound of it, (overkill) then the RF-83's seem like they will do the trick. I have 7.1 right now... let me show with these pics. no matter what i buy, ill make it work some how... just call me Overkill left front right front center all front right rear left rear all rear
  17. im refering to the best klipsch surround speakers that the yamaha can push without dieing. if you look at the connection chart... it has zoning. zone 2 and zone 3.... im not so sure what that is, but they look like speaker hookups. if i can put a speaker there, then i would like to. i just need to know the best/ and types of speakers i can configure this thing with and different types of configurations i can do with what klipsch has to offer. unlessssssssss i wont have the power to run the speakers, and in that case ill have to go with a more powerful receiver that has the options that im needing... like blutooth and wifi and such.
  18. Let's back up, because we can spend as much of your money as you want. What is your budget for a Home Theater? I dont really have a budgett. but...... my room is pretty small. so small that i cant fit a king size bed in it if i want a dresser and a computer desk in the same room. BUTTTT i want to wreck this box with sound!! so im trying to go big. but not too big. I think ive made up my mind on the yamahas and the rf-83's, adding a quality sub should give me all the music blasting i desire im hoping. so now as i stated in the previous post... i want to configure this receiver for greatness. tell me what to do?
  19. Okay, I think I have it now. Since the RF-83's are so efficient as stated, then the Yamaha should be able to push them with a .1 sub to sound really good for music and bang the heck out of my room. The reason I'm deciding on the receiver is that it has wifi, bluetooth, and all this other geeky stuff that will thrill me to death. So by making that decision, I could run a really good sub... the RW-12d with those beastly fronts and really tear it up, correct? That should take care of my music cravings. If I ever need or crave more, then I'll just have to see what I can do to compromise. Now that I have the receiver chosen, and the 2 fronts with sub.... I'm ready to decide on the rest of the setup.... Here is the diagram that shows the connections: http://www.texas-rebel.com/mystuff/surround.jpg I want to put the best setup on the receiver now for surround sound? Can this be done?
  20. Now this sounds like a good idea. And im asuming you are talking about This: http://emotiva.com/umc1.shtmAnd This: http://emotiva.com/xpa5.shtm But wouldnt I want more channels if I wanting a 7.1 or 7.2 setup? And what advantage does this seperate setup have over a 7.1 or 7.2 receiver?
  21. I'm definately wanting 7.1 or 7.2... now I've looked at the Klipsch heritage and it just looks tooooooo big. I'm thinking the RF-83's would be good for music if i run 2 fronts plus a .1 sub for added bass on 2ch stereo (2.1 my current receiver supports that. 2 fronts and a sub). Then for movies, I could switch to surround sound and those RF-83's would make good strong fronts? My only concern now is that I want a receiver that can push the rf-83's for movies and music with no issues. I thought the yamaha could do that but apparently not. please advise
  22. Okay so heres the deal. Since the Yamaha cannot compete with power, I need some suggestions on a very good receiver that will... that comes with HD radio, XM, Sirius hook ups... ALL THE BELLS AND WISTLES. Now again, I want to beat down the block... so for music... if I have A and B front inputs, Im probably gonna want RF-83's on each so that when I want, I can switch to 2ch Stereo and beat down the house, but when it comes to watching a movie, I would want those fronts to work well in the surround set up. Im only discussing front speakers here. Lets see if this is a good idea before I discuss the rest of the setup up. Is there something wrong with having 4- RF-83's if i have 4 front channel inputs? will a movie not sound good with those large speakers on the front? Now remember, my understanding is that most AVR's come with A and B front inputs. Not anymore. Those were to use for stereo in two different rooms and not the same room. Okay, then that throws me allllll off. Lets start over. I need to decide on a receiver before i make any other decisions. Whats a good receiver with all the bells and whistles that will work well with the rf-83's and much more Ive heard denan is really good but what about Integra?? http://www.wwstereo.com/#/ecommerce/store/Audio/11/84509/9_1_33_-1__0_0_0_-1/ Integra DTR-8.8
  23. Yea but I though A and B were supposed to be big fronts... most systems ive used always had options to connect up to 4 huge fronts???? Dont most systems have A & B front inputs? please make sense of that for me?
  24. but also, i want to be able to deliver a hug punch, and not just in movies. i want the vibrations to rumble through my body, so i would want the best fronts and the best sub i can get without spending 10,000 dollars
  25. Wdo you mean by having RF-83's as surround would be over kill? what do you mean by as surrounds? And what do you mean by beefier? Is that yamaha not good enough to handle RF-83's? And arent the RF-82's better to have than the RF-3's??
