  1. Thanks for all the compliments!!! Yeah there is an issue with the center location but I tell ya it sounds fine. I had all intentions to slip a riser under the center but I mad a slight miscalculation so that's were it stays until we built the house. Prior to the Heresy I had a C7 there just a bit higher and not angled up that as well sounded fine maybe that's what I'm used to but my friends always leave happy and want to get KLIPSCH'ED. For the Bucking Magnets - ---------------- On 5/18/2004 10:44:43 AM avman wrote: cool setup john! i also am wondering about the center heresy's sound as i will be using one for center as well, and may have to place it on its side as you have done. also, you may well want to make another 'road trip' and get a sweet deal on a sony lcd grand vvega when you are ready avman. ---------------- AVMAN - I might need a Po Boy and a T.V. in the future I'll give you the heads up when the time comes! For the sound well I'm quite happy with what I've put together over the years and I know it'll only get better. John
  2. Is it a 5 way binding post that takes banana plugs? If so and your handy pick up some at Radio Shack and replace the broken post.
  3. The center on the side sounds fine just a small adjustment with the AVIA and the db meter. I asked around earlier in the month about putting the Heresy on the side and most of the feedback was positive. The sub is the LF10 which at first with my retired KLF set up and wasn't thrilled with it one bit since KLF went pretty low but with the Heresy being a weak in the low end the LF10 really shines but that'll get dispatched down the road. I've been toying the idea of having the LCR all identical for that timbre matching that seems to be a driving factor in this crazy hobby. I had a choice of getting a single KLF 30 and HornEd the speaker or start over. I chose to start over and try something else and I am thrilled that I did. 3 Heresy for LCR and a pair of Heresy II for the surround. The sound is amazing!
  4. For the sheiding there is minimal distortion to the picture and not noticable with Letterbox. I plan on a new TV this year being DLP/LCD/???? and that should solve that problem. For the center thats temporary though I believe it sounds great as is just had to bump up the center volume just a hair. (We're looking at building our house this year since we just paid the land off! 5+ acres) Then the plan is have the LCR vertical at the same height. Looking at stands now got some Lovans in mind but always open to suggestion.
  5. That was fast! We'll give it a shot later tonight. Thanks, John
  6. Thanks, How did you do that? That was our goal last night and finally gave up.
  7. The stools are only a temp solution. I'm eye balling some stands by Lovan which I should have by August. For them rocking at high levels not to worry I'm a apartment dweller above the leasing office but every night at 6:15 they leave and I have no nieghbors on either side So I can be a bit liberal with the volume but it doesn't take much.
  8. Okay you win....Take 4. I think that we got it this time.
  9. okay than you win take 4 Lets try this again. <img src=:http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/heresy.jpg:><br>

I was at this all last night trying to figure it out, and she comes in here and 1,2,3 get's it done. I sure do love her
  11. Thanks to my wife, I think that we finally figured out how do do this! Feel free to ask questions and leave feedback.

  14. Phase one is complete! Well I finally got my foot in the door with an entry level Heritage Rig! LCR - Heresy I's with the center on the side. Surrounds - Heresy II's. Still have the LF10 sounds great with the new setup! I'll calibrate later tonight but for know they sound INCREDIBLE! I had the KLFs which mind you are no slouch but I can really hear a difference is that possible maybe it's all in my head but what I've put through is frightning realistic I played 2 channel Dire Straits a track called Private Investigation? close my eyes and I get chills listening. For the Matix Revolutions I can pick up more detail almost the sound is rather "holographic" It's getting close to dinner gotta run- John
  15. "so,I'm going to have 4 30's and the c-7 center" You could go for broke and get a 5th KLF 30 and transform it into a center
  16. Moon, Thanks for that - if you could add some cheesey muzak it tie it all together
  17. After a month of negotiations a date was set... May 4th I took a short roadtrip from Central Florida to New Orleans to personally deliver the goods I was breaking up a pair of KLF 30's to be transformed from floorstander to center channel. The second one found its new home in Tallahassee with fellow member I WILL WALK. I met up with AVMAN at New Orleans Audio & Video relaxed for a bit and took off to his residence. After unloading the KLF and a brief tour it time to for dinner mind you not any sandwich but a Central Grocery Muffaletta I suggest that everybdy have at least two when visiting the Big Easy- AVMAN gave me the run down of his rig and set up the demos Stevie Ray Vaughn Yes Journey Matrix Revolutions Swordfish We started out with SRV playing at moderate levels then AVMAN opened up the KLFS -Detail was amazing from every riff to the pain, sorrow and anger SRV belted out really put you Stage Left with Double Trouble and if you added in a little smoke to the room close your eyes you would believe that you were there. Then it was off to the Yes track which really showed the dynamics of his system and this time the RSW 15 roared to life with a steady amount of keyboard bass really gave the room a workout but when the keyboard bass dropped the octave at the level we were listening two words come to mind Next we moved to a live Journey track again AVMANS rig put you up front about row 4 and with the projector you could almost catch Neal Schons pick as he tossed it to the crowd- Off to the Movies Matrix Revolutions When the dock is breeched- From the footsteeps of the APUs getting into position to fight off the 1000's of squidys to the drill making its way into the dock the room wouldn't sit still the LFE was staggering and almost frightning as I held on to the couch expecting to implode from the effect-cooool Lastly Swordfish with the ball bearing chestpack. This showcased the KSP S6 for the rears upon release we had ball bearing whizzing all over the room. This was my first time hearing those surrounds and I was quite amazed being a fan of monopole rears but thats another subject. Everything that KLIPSCH is about I got to hear in one heck of a setup a moving display of detail-energy-absoulte finesse All of AVMANS rig produces and sets a benchmark for those to follow- It was a great pleasure to meet AVMAN and allow me to enjoy what he has for those couple of hours spent. And when he has the KLF modded and the Cornwall/Heresy up and running I might have to pick up some Po Boys and check it out- Just a quick note for I WILL WALK we were unable to demo his system due to my arrival time though we spoke on the phone for a bit hope all's well and enjoy your soon to be center Thanks again, John

  21. With the Barrier/Terminal strips what is the best method? Bare wire of spades? So far T Shoemaker mentioned Monster spades Still looking for more data- I'll have more questions since the Heresy Four Pack is on the way With my last question about putting a Heresy on the side and the mentioning of the Heresy II sheilding issue I went the route of Heresy LCR and Heresy II for the rears. I'm going to need some stands to get them off the floor I was thinking about the Lovan Jazz 1800 for L & R but as always looking for more data- Thanks again, John
  22. I just took took the step KLF's out Heritage in - granted it's not the big league but you gotta start somewhere. In one week I'll have 3 Heresys up front and a pair of Heresy II's for rear duty! I'll post pictures once everything is in place!
  23. Try this again. Looking for the best way to hook up my two sets of Heresys which should arrive in a week or so! Can somebody decipher what year they are 605597 is on one set the other set 89T688 What is the best method next to using bare wire? Is there a particular sized spade I'm looking for? and any custom on-line wire shops that can cater to my needs? Spade and Banana terminations.
  24. I believe Gorilla Glue has been mentioned in the past for such repairs.
