  7. Hahaa sure did mate [Y] That chunky lead sounds like the go! Although i may need aprox 10m long but ive spent this much already so no skimping out now [] I will definately let u know how it all comes together sometime this week. Wanted it ready for State of Origin footy but cant see that happening just yet. Thanks for your help guys, it seems i came to an American site to get all the answers i need from my fellow Aussies hahaa!! Just got home from work so now its Beer o'clock! Cheers m8
  8. So thats it? I just rechecked the owners manual (which can be found here http://www.klipsch.com/images/download/56.aspx as a 4 page pdf file) & referred to Figure 3 - Low Level Connections & it does seem that option makes sense although not in plain english as you have put it Bailz lol [] So its as simple as that! Just get a lead thats long enough & plug it from the Yamaha Pre Out Subwoofer (black plug) connection to the Klipsch Sub-10 LEFT/LFE Line In (white plug) connection using just 1 lead? Wow, cant believe its that easy considering all the options the Sub & Receiver have concerning speaker setups haha! [8-)] Thanks Bailz i appreciate your contribution in solving my issue. [Y] Now back & busy at work for another week i probably wont get to buy that all important lead as quikly as i would like so i will keep checking this thread for any other comments. Also, will this 1 lead connection be the best solution to provide optimal sound quality with bass in the 5.1 surround setup? Secondly, do i ask for a specific lead or just any AV lead will do? Thanks in advance. . . . .
  9. Yeah hey mate you got the BOOM BOOM right hahaa just got it all sittin on da floor waiting for some info to wire it up, cant wait long lol. Im just south of Sydney down in the Gong & if i used the same username as you than i would be DownUnder72 [] hahaa not far off you there mate. Thanks for reading my post anyway & just hope i get some info soon. Cheers
  10. Hi mate! Im only new to this site but may be able to help with the 0-180 switch. It was explained to me as others have touched on that the switch is for the position of the Sub in your room for a better listening experience. For example, if the subwoofer is placed in front of the listener ie. near the tv & receiver end of the room you leave the switch position on 0. If however your subwoofer is placed at the opposite end of the room, behind or beside the listener than you use the switch on 180. Makes perfect sense i suppose, if the sub is in front of you switch to 0degrees & if the sub is behind you than switch it to 180degrees for the correct delay time from the sub position & the program being viewed. [8-)] Just try each setting & use whichever gives you the best sound to image quality. Hope this helps as im only a newbie to this technology but thought i would share the information i was told from the place i purchased my Klipsch Sub-10. Please if anyone can help with my post it would be much appreciated regarding wiring my Sub-10 to a Yamaha RX-V465. Heres the link http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/121312.aspx Regards []
  11. Hi everyone im new to this site & home theater setups so if you could just bare with me & my lack of knowledge with these systems. [:S] We have recently purchased the new Yamaha RX-V465 receiver & Klipsch Quintet lll speaker system with Synergy Sub-10 powered subwoofer all of which are out of the box but not setup yet. After reading the forum looking for similar setups i concluded to join & ask for your help in connecting the Sub-10 to the receiver or more to the point, the best way to connect the two components. Im at a loss as to which wiring setup would be the best possible sound solution for a 50/50 use of listening to movies & music. ie: Low Level or High Level connections? For High Level Connections im assuming that i run speaker cable ( i've got 16-Gauge Belkin speaker cable) from the Yamaha front speakers L&R connections too the Sub-10 High Level L&R Inputs & then run cables from the Sub-10 High Level L&R Outputs to the front satellite speakers? Now for Low Level Connections (of which i have no cables) im thinking that i need to use a cable from the Sub-10 Left/LFE & Right Line In connection to the Yamaha L&R Pre Out? But which type of connection do i use & have i stated the correct wiring options above? My confusion thickens as on the Yamaha receiver it also has other connections. In the Pre Outs section it has a single subwoofer plug alongside the L&R plugs. There is also another section that has only a L&R Audio Output. Here is a link that show you Front & Back panel images of the Yamaha RX-V465 that may explain the connections im refering too. http://www.yamahamusic.com.au/products/avit/htavreceivers/RX-V465.asp# I also found a link on these forums to the image of the Klipsch Sub-10 connections panel. http://www.your-home-theater-design.com/images/klipsch_subwoofer_back.jpg From what ive been reading on these forums im thinking this is not a difficult question for its members although i hope it shows you my lack of technical knowlegde towards this problem. Also the position of the Sub will be on the opposite side of a doorway so i will have to run cables around the architrave of the door opening. This may be easy using lengths of speaker cable but if it requires Pre Out cable connection than im not sure if long lead connections are available. The family is looking forward to a new listening experience but will have to wait until i can find some resolution from the helpful members here as its the only place i've asked for help. Thanks in advance for any information you can contribute.
