  1. Thanks djk I think ill go for the kappa pro lf2 and ill try to ask bob crites if he can prepare yhe xover for the 8 ohm driver . Thanks a lot Ill try to show some picture of my cornscala when itll be finish
  2. hi djk Thanks for the answer . Did you try one of these woofer ? The eminence gamma seems to be 8ohm and k33 is 4 ohm is it technically complicated to change the xover ( sorry im kind of newbie) Ive found the eminence kappa 15c to be 4 ohm too and it looks like some people use it as a replacement for k33 ; do you think its an interesting way to go ? It is just to save money cos if its really impossible to use another woofer i would go for the crites one ... But im little short on money so i just try to save ...
  3. Hello everyone I use to be a happy owner of a pair of lascala but when i had to go back to my hometown ( Paris ) , i had no place anymore for theses big babies ... So i replace them by a pair of heresy 1 but lets be clear the sound is far far away from my lascala . I dont have this magical touch that make you feel in the music . That s why i decid to build a pair of cornscala . I already have k55 mid that i m going to use with a 511b horn , k77 tweet , my father in law will help me with cabinet building ,and i ll buy xover and horn adaptor from crites . So i have a question about the k33 replacement . I was planning to buy the 1526c from crite too , wich are at a very good price , but if you put shipping cost and taxes its becoming expensive . And since im a bit short on money... I have read about replacement on this forum like eminence kappa 15 but after reading too much different point of view im lost ... I try to be short , is anyone have try the eminence kappa 15c in a cornwall cabinet ? And does anyone can tell me if it can works on crites xover without having to change anything ? Thanks for reading Paul
  4. hi i m just having the same problem of a louder midrange and slight difference frequencies and when i just switch the driver and it was the driver so i ll just change diaphragme! maybe its the same problem
  5. hello so i finally switch the mid range and that was the probleme , so i just have to change diaphragm !! and yes my midrange is a k55x and its a slide on connector . and i think my lascala are from 2005 cos the serial number start by 05 but maybe i mistake ! thanks to everyone for your help!! now i have to buy new diaphragm and try to repair it [:|]!!
  6. thanks a lot for the answers i loosen and tighten all the screws on the cross over then on the slide-on connectors of the driver ... same problem ... but since its a slide on connector to the driver i can disconnect the midrange so do you think i should switch with the good mid ? or is it better to measure the resistance ? and by the way is there a + and - on the voice coil ? thanks pol
  7. thanks for the fast answers i put my ear on each driver and its working , just the medium on one speaker is quiet different soundig , to be short the sound coming is much louder from the other one ( even if i change channel on the amp !) can it be the crossover ? i v read more or less similar problem on other thread and they say to losen and retighten screws but i don t get wich screw , on the driver or crossover ?(newby[:$]) pol
  8. hi it s been a long time i m reading this forum , and finally i write my first post and it is for a ... problem so i have 2005 la scala (bought it last year second hand ), my amp is a marantz 2235b ( not exactly hifi but its works ) and my source is a revox turntable with a goldring 1022 since one month ago one of my speaker have a problem in the medium ( i think ) all sounds are there but some frequencies looks much louder on the other speaker ( i switch speakers on the amp , same problem on the same speaker ). it seems that it s only medium .for example if i listen to jazz the voice looks coming from the good speakers since its slightly stronger . it seems that small sound are far compare to the good speaker . i hear it very strongly if i pass from right to left channel on my amp , if i compare . i was planning to buy new diaphragm from bob crites , but i m not even sure that s coming from there . second problem ( sorry !) when i put a jazz lp like nina simone or piano jazz , sometimes sound is crakling , again from the medium , this time on both !! what to do ??? i m not a diy expert but i ll have to do it myself as much as i could since reparation are too expensive here in germany ! i reallly like my lascala , i want to take good care of them !!! can anyone help me ??? thanks pol ( be kind for my approximative english [])
