funny.. i thought the amp was in the sub, why could i not just use the atoms for the two fronts. i have a friend who has done this and the midrange was improved somewhat. although i dont think it would mess everything up since i mainly listen to music with just the 2 front not the rear, i leave them for dvd's and games. Just wondering if anyone watched the matrix Dvd at around 75% volume with bass on the THX dot. when Trinity jumps up in the air at the beginning when she is in a "jam" the bass is so loud it made a picture frame fall down on my wall. luckily it didnt break. i'll have to use some double sided tape on that. When people compare their Altec sub's and Cambridge and Boston, bose acoustimas.... well i laugh. Ive heard all of them and they cant even come close to matching the klipsch sub, (when it is placed properly) i dont even consider myself close to what you people call an "audiophile" but i really enjoy listening to good quality music and i love audio in genral. i know there is much better out there, but the systems that some of these people are comparing to the promedias makes me wonder if these people are in grade 6. In fact i think that the majority of these people probably think their $600 Kenwood minisystem sounds "good". when u place the klipsch sub properly and use proper media (ie: not 96kbit mp3s) then it beats the competition in terms of how low it goes and how smooth the bass is, more tight, longer extension, gives a "fuller" experience in my opinion. Ive heard the competition and the only thing that can come close is the Videologic crossfire's sub, definatly wont fill the room with as much bass as the klipsch, but people claim it to be "tighter" and faster and the crossover is higher. (i dont think thats a good thing) but the people who like a more neutral sound (not the Rock eq) think that the crossfires sound better. just my $0.02 what are some more of your opinions?

i was thinking of replacing my 2 front sats with some Paradigm Titans or Atoms... would anyone recomend this? i have the v2.400s not sure if its the first or second preamp. How do i tell?

nah u gotta use a program like dvdgenie. select 6 speakers or (5.1) and then it will downmix to 4.1 with phantom.. the way u can tell is with the optimode THX test or when u are actually playing the movie with dolby digital 5.1, open the options and look at the audio format.... it should say 5.1 dolby dig. even if its greyed out its still using it.... ------------------ Download the latest ver. of Klipsch 3d Animation: http://blake.prohosting.com/~swerv/subwoofer4.avi

very cool erdric,.. heres the updated animation with more things on it fixed.. it has music now. Subwoofer Animation ( with music ) version 4 (21 megs)

for those of you with fast connections you might want to check out version 4 of the animation which has sound and some of the problems from the other one are now fixed including no music, and the whole thing being very dark. check this one out 21 megs lasts 1:07 min Version 4 (With music) 350x255 30 fps for a slightly older and smaller version with different music check out: Version 3 with music (smaller) 14.5 megs Thanks for the input guys... as soon as i get to the sub lookin ok .... i'll start workin on the sats and maybe turn it into some sort of a nissan commercial rip-off... who knows.. hehehe

hey guys i was messing around with 3d studio max (im new to it) and i started making the promedia sub.. let me know what u think... the final one is gonna have music matching the animation of the speakers themselves... and some more ambient lighting, because its kinda hard to see the back..... but its getting there... here is the animation at around 50% completion: Subwoofer Animation (no sound) 50% finished <5.04 meg>

Hey people this is the animation at 50% completion... the one i posted before was really just a test... New Animation 320x200 50% done (no sound) be sure to come back and check out the finished product and give me some tips etc.. or changes that i could make. hmmmmmm it apears the animation is still not done uploading so, give it like 10 min it should be done

that killer bean is cool, and i havnt finished with the textures yet or even a view inside of the sub which i was going to do.. i'll probably be finished tonight on the sub.... might need some help getting the right texture for the grill or something.... still havnt figured out how to do that...... i think i'll leave the grills "off" so people can see the speaker some and stuff..

"power dvd" makes voice and explosions sound like something comming from a cheap TV with a 3 inch mono speaker. WinDVD sounds excellent. MMMMM LFE...
