  1. ah, the most controversial topic in audio, i myself use monster twisted pair for my home theatre & it works just fine, you might not notice any difference at all, if you really want to try some nice wire that is cost effective try dh labs silver sonic t-14, you can't beat it for the price, many on line dealers sell it by the foot, i have a smaller setup i use this for & its great, especially for longer runs. fine wire will bring out the best of any system, will you hear it, only you will know for sure.
  2. there is 1 wiring change i would try before you do anything else, easily reversable too, should be in the archives, if not email me
  3. i have a pair of heresey 1's i am thinking of selling, in walnut, email if interested
  4. there is a simple wiring mod to try before you try anything else & its reverable if you dont like it, search thru older mods & if you cant find it email me
  5. i used 1/2" fiberglass tacked to the sides & replaced the back panel with 3/4" mdf, all this is fluff, the key to the hereseys in my opinion is a simple wiring modification, won't cost a thing & is reversible if you don't like it, look for older posts on this bb for the mod & if you cannot find it email me
  6. recently purchased a set of used heresey's & decided to try the modifications, rebuilt the cross-overs used jensen copper foil in oil caps & solen inductors, rewired with some dh labs wire i had, damped the tweeter with rope caulk & the midrange horn with some black hole 5, lined the inside of the cabinet with 3/4" fiberglass, finally replaced the back's with 3/4" mdf with new binding posts. ok spent some bucks & while the changes were noticeable, i was expecting a drastic improvement, sorry it didn't happen, a definite improvement but not for the bucks i spent! then came this post & i figured, what the heck, nothing to loose, well i gotta admit, this seems to be the cure i was looking for! immediate improvement, the harsh glare from the tweeters was gone, did not seem to effect volume in any way, just eliminated the listener fatigue associated with the heresey, some may not agree but thanks for the post, i'm impressed with the results. was thinking about selling the heresey's but now i'll rethink that decision. thanks mike
  7. can anyone help i am trying to identify the manufacturing year & type of a pair of klipsch heresey's type: hbb, serial no. 8428115 & 8428116,can anyone post a follow up on the type, heresey 1 or 2's & the year they were manufactured? thanks
