  1. good thing your not going to get into a pissing match cause you would piss in your pants or on your shoes you made so many wrong statements I dont know where to begin dealers cost is not like $200 each its more like $160 each I chekd with 2 dalers friends of mine I contacted them and they laughed saying they never sold any for $240 a pair or 120 ea, if they did they would A lose alot of money B not have any left in stock and they would have sold out in like 3 min cause other dealers would have bought them as its way below dealer cost.. no matter what you say or how much you wanna piss,, you bought them for $280 a pair,, and the thread was for $240 a pair,, not the same and your whining cant make it so that was my only point,, that you didnt get them for $240 a pair or 120 ea,, and I stand by that.. any further statements by you on the subject is stupid as that is the pont of my reply to the thread,, no one cares if you bought them for $280,, the originaly subject was $240 and they not any other dealer is not selling NEW ones unopened for that,, no way, maybe if there is a demo pair that was used maybe, in a store or a REFURB or a return,, but no new.. that is what 6 av and 4 other dealers told me,, so you can now go away no one belives you BS
  2. well just cause you dont see does not mean itws not true the primary disadvantage of optical is throughtput which is limited to about 1.5 gps if you use a converter,, it fools the DVD player into thinking you have HDMI and outputs HD audio at full HD audio 7.1 bitstream normally this would be a problem for the receiver that has the optical going into it, but since the converter box has ram as a buffer it allows and compensated for the higher throughput by buffering the data in memory to allow for the reduced throughput,, using a buffer , this is what computers do all the time and EThernet does as well as video,, so this is just dong it with sound.. soundblasters cards and other computer sound cards do this all the time get it now?
  3. well, well,, lets see you bought them for $280, thats not what was said before which was $240 thats $40 more, you can find them at a ton of places for around $280-300 and cheaper on ebay so thats not a great deal.. really $240 is not $280,, and they dont sell them for $240 I stand by that and checked 4 times that is below their cost..
  4. Yeah I agree thanks ,, finally got the RC 62 for under $300 new,, which was hard to pass up can hardly wait to hear it
  5. No you still dont if you dont have HDMI then you merely get a converter box that has a buffer so it can take the optical data --store a few seconds of it at a time and then converts it to HDMI, IE optical to HDMI, they are around..
  6. YOU NEVER WANT TO USE OPTICAL for SOUND on BLU_RAY PERIOD the TOS OPTICAL cables are limited in bandwidth to 1.2-1.5 MbPS throughput so that means they will NOT do DD 7.1 HD or DTS HD properly as those require much higher bandwidth of like 5-15 MbPS use HDMI its a much higher bandwidth cable 10-15 MbPS and thus will give you the HD sound or uncompressed LPCM whihc can be 14 channels and 18 MbPS TOS fiber optic cables start to make errors at over 1.2 MbPS and have to be converted which is another disadvantage HDMI is the logical choice
  7. yeah thats not true checked with 6 av thats $249 EACH not for a pair lol they laughed at $249 a pair and said thats a common mistake big difference.. $249 a pair they would lose alot of money way below cost.. daeler cost is like $200 ea on those RS 42 are always quoted EA usually not in pairs
  8. I have a RC 25 used as a center channel, and was wondering if getting a RC 35 would work and sound better since it has 1 inch larger woofers and a slightly larger cabinet.. I have heard from several reviews and people that in fact the smaller RC 25 sounds better and cleaner, and more clear, which is surprising.. wondering if anyone has heard both and or used both and knows the truth whether it would be worth it to upgrade my RC 25 to a RC 35 .. also is a RC 52 any better thaqn the RC 25 I have now,, my understanding is , they are almost identical with same size woofers and internals and the RC 52 is just a newer model of the same RC 25 Ideally I would like to upgrade to a RC 62 but the cost is so much more than the RC 35/ 52 's and not sure if eevn that would sound that much better for the money any personal expierence opinions based on actual listening expierence would be appreciated thanks C
  9. not sure what you mean by disregard, I was just asking for your insight on some issues lol the fact that I just got some almost new RF 82's for $499 makes me happy so happy I can disregard your disregard lol in the end I always seem to do ok and get a great lucky opportunity.. [st] so you didnt rain on me
  10. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND ADVICE I ended up getting ( no hate mail please) lol a 9 monthh old pair of KLIPSCH RF 82 Towers from original owner for $499 for the pair.. Yes you read that right,,, why I like living in California lol insane deal.. sounds amazing in BEDROOM now I need to sell the spare KLISPCH KG 4's I have that I have almost never used as they were in a spare bedroom thanks again.. all I can say is , glad the democrats have scared everyone into panic about the economy unnecessarily or speakers deals like the one I got would likely not have happened lol now I will look like that maxell commercial when the guy is listeing to his stereo with his face and hair being blowin backwards. peace C
  11. thanks BILL so do you really thing that if I get the SYN F3's for L R and use my RC 62 center it will sound that different even thought they are all Klipsch and a sister line.? Granted the RB 81 will match the RC 62 in that its a same line dont you think that the SYN F3's would really give alot more sound.. and considering the center is really for dialog mostly wouldnt I be better off with more sound and better sound from the L R F3's even though it may sound evey so slightly different than the center RC 62 and isnt that a good tradeoff than to compromise more on the LR and get RB81 's with less sound even though they will match the center slightly better, seems as its kinda a draw or maybe 60/40 toward the F3 I can always get a matching center as they are the cheapest speakers, so bottom line, forget the center I have for a sec = would you get for L R Home THEATRE RB 81 or F3 if you could get them for exact same price? thanks man for your insight
  12. thanks well being in LA CA there is no shortage of klipsch around here,, lol thing is, its hard to believe that the BOOKSHELF RB 61/81 woudl sound better than the SYN F3's as the F3's have so much more cabinet to resonance with and make more SPL and more bass etc.. always thought floors would sound better than bookshelfs but you think that the reference say RF35 or R52 or 62 would sound alot better than the SYN F3's ? also what do you all think of DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY, Im a klipsch man but I found a great price on these MYTHOS 4's like $300 ea http://www.definitivetech.com/Products/Series/MythosSeries.aspx and they have 4 5 inch woofers, with 2 passive radiators and a tweeter in all aircraft aluminum and glass cabinet for rigidity HOME THEATER MAG and HDTV Mag both say they sound like $5000 + speakers let me know thanks
  13. I have 3 yamaha amps 2 of which were $1500 + and used to have a denon before the POS died Just got the new PIONEER 1019 and it runs circles around any other AMP under $1500 inclduing the yamahas I paid 3 times the price for PERIOD Pioneer is phasing out the ELITE series and incorporating the older techology into this line with a few cost cuts but not many.. with the same circutry as the ELITE VSX's that cost $2000 + the amp is editors choice for under $1000 everywhere from CNET to HT mag and others techies luv it for following reasons 120Watts x 7 with modified discreet amps 4 HDMI ports with full and true upscaling to 1080 p and all reassignable andprogramable full DOLBY DIGITAL including HD, TRUE HD and HD MA and THX NEURAL DTS-HD Master Audio full USB and IPOD and IPHONE / BLACKBERRY CONNECTIONS and support with no adapters necessary full WINDOWS WMD video and audio support for windows media Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration Circuit (MCACC) supports album art and SIRUS RADIO beautiful looking with bright blue LCD and 2nd zone outputs runs cool as uses newer circutry unlike Yamaha and Denon which use 2-4 year old crap carried over that takes alot more power and runs hotter than this one bottom line this thing is as loud as a $2000 AMP and sonds as clean as anything under $1500 and best part its $499 lol GET ONE you will be insanely happy
  14. HI Im thinking of replacing my KG4's for my fronts for my new surround system I like them for classical music but they are not as accurate or bright or have as much punch as the newer Klipsches it would seem... I have a chance to get some used synergy F3 's for cheap around $350 a pair or some RB 81's for fronts for the surround I heard 2 people who have the synergy III F2's tell me they are not happy with them and they sound thin and weak compared to the Reference series speakers both floor and bookshelfs which has me concerned.. I was leaning to the SYN III F3's until I heard this,, Am really I better off getting a Reference Series like the RF 35 or RF 52 Floors or the RB 62's or RB 82's Books and are they that much cleaner and better or will the F3 be fine and those 2 people just FOS ? lol IE-- is the reference series floors or even its bookshelfs that much better sounding that the F synergy series , seems to me the internals are the same crossover etc and its just the woofers materials and other slight differencesin construction mats that should not make that much difference between similiar models in the 2 lines so WHICH WOULD YOU GUYS CHOOSE for movies and general digital playback in a room that is 15 x 15 feet my current setup is as follows I choose each speak type and brand for its position and what its best known for KG 4 fronts RC 62 center B & W Bookshelf SIDE surrounds (expensive) Klipsch S2 Rear Surrounds VELODYNE 12" front SUB B & W 6" REAR Mini Sub my budget is limited to around $450 which means slightly used speakers but that is OK as you can get very expensive Klipsches used for under $500 thanks for the help [] C-
