  1. Gigbyt I went with the KSB 3.1 speakers too. I picked-up a set on ebay. Can't wait to try them out. Next step is the 7.1 amp with Dolby True HD and DTS master.I am trying to decide between an Marantz 6003, Denon 2310, or an Onkyo 806. My old amp is a Denon 2802, it's really similar to the 2310 in power and specs. Denon's are a bit of a puzzle to set-up and switch various output modes. Thanks, Scott
  2. Is there anybody out there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anybody home? [8][]
  3. Keep watch on Audiogon. I found mine there. Also Ebay reciently had a KSP-C4 which is 8" like the C7.
  4. Help me decide: I have the KLS-C7 surround and the SS-1 installed on my system now. So the next step is to identify the back channels for a 7.1 setup. See my signature for the whole setup. The first candidate is the two KSB 3.1 speakers with the 8" poly woofer. These back channels be mounted from the ceiling about 9 feet up angled down to the listening area. This speaker would have to be oriented on it's side rather than the normal stand-up orientation to clear the top of the curtains. This will have a negative affect on the directionality of the tweeter horn. The positives are: + 94 db sensitivity is a good match with the SS-1 units. + Poly woofer is a good match with the rest of the system. + 8 inch woofer will give the surround channels some bass + front firing ports will allow for closer placement to the back wall. The second candidate are two SC-1 center channels. This is a closed box design but I would be mounting 2 horizontal center channels (four 5.25" woofers total) on the same plane which I understand is not good. The positives are: + 95db sensitivity is a good match with the SS-1 units. + Poly woofer is a good match with the rest of the system. + Nice slim design would look good in this horizontal position. + I already have an SC-1, so I would only have to buy 1 matching speaker. So help me decide. Thanks, Scott
  5. I have the SS-1 surrounds installed and the C7 installed now. Really fantastic sound from both of these units. The C7 is so efficient and clear I can lower the volume mix to match the L&R KLF-20s at 0db. The SS-1 surround is rated 94db sensitivity so I have the amp gain to the surround channels turned up. I watched Jurassic Park on Saturday after my surround install and the surround effect was noticeable. Monday night football on Direct TV ESPN was equally fantastic, my son and wife were duly impressed with the new additions.
  6. Fotog, I received the C7 and played the movie Push last nite. You are right, the vocals are phenomonal , and I noticed that there is so much bass in the effects now. It sounds so good with the KLF 20s. Very clear sound. Unfortunatly UPS banged them up pretty bad in shipping. No damage to the drivers, but it went from mint to roadies in 5 days. So I submitted a damage report with UPS, I will see how that goes. I bought some SS-1s from a klipsch fanatic in town off of craigslist yesterday. I will try them out with the KLFs and see how they sound.
  7. Hi, What do you folks think about using Synergy C1s or RC-35 as suround and back channel speakers?
  8. Hey there, The RS-42 seem to be a good value at these prices. I found the Sub 12 for$349 which is a good deal. Thanks, Scott
  9. I am thinking of upgrading the surrounds for my system. What is a good match for the KLF line? I am looking at the RS-3, RS-42 thru RS-62. Am on the right track here? My room is about 24 by 24 floor carpeted with a high baffle like a concert hall. Thanks,
  10. I managed to gleen from other posts that the center channel is most important for HT setup. So I have receiently agreed to purchase a KLF C-7 to replace my SC-1. This is the recommended timbre match for my KLF Legend 20. Don't have it at home yet, as it's still in route. I found a deal that I couldn't pass up. Next question is: What is the recommeded order of my upgrade path: 1. Marantz 6003: Reasoning: Killer reviews and great prices on the 6003 as dealters blow these units out. 2. Synergy Sub-12: Reasoning. My Sony sub is pretty loose sounding and the Sub 12 is supposed to be a great sub. 3. RS-3, RS-42 or RS-52 surrounds? I can move my Quintets to my bedroom :-)
  11. I have a few questions to ask but I wanted to introduce myself first and say Hi. Regards, Scott
