  1. Thanks Marvel.I should have did a search as there is lot to read in this BB.
  2. I have a khorn clone and would like to purchases this amp for use with them.I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these amps.I would also like any recommendation for a preamp to marry to this amp.I am using the Crites C125 tweet , CW1526c woofer , PD5-4H / 401 horn and the A/4500 cross over if that matters. Thanks
  3. I am using my iPad and it's not working well.I am building k horns and using the Georgians as refrance.I also have the Speakerlab plan John Warren at Audio Engineering said the Georgian plans are close to the k except for a couple of panels.I wanted to check the splitter measurements against the Speakerlab plans. Thanks Woody
  4. Trying to respond with my iPad and it's not working well.I got the Georgian plans from John Warren at Audiioengineering .He said if you follow them you would have a more accurate build for a k horn than the Speakerlab plans .They are pretty much the same except for a couple of panels. One example would be the 3x13 cut out verses 6x13.Etc.
  5. I am building k and using Speakerlab lab plans and the Georgian s as refrance .i wanted to check the splitter measurements against the Speakerlab plans Thanks
  6. Hi. I am building a set from Georgian plans and I can't find the demensions of the splitter board that is directly opposite the woofer. All I need is the distance from the 1/2 plywood to it .I know the angle and can figure out from there. Thanks Woody
  7. thanks Gary lots of useful info. But does anyone out there have some demensions of the original , such as the front panel , side panels and the width of the motor boad as this would sure help to determine which plan to follow.I did some measurements in one of the links. I will check my drawings tonight.I have the speaker lab plans and the 2 German ones. The speaker lab plans do differ from the metric counter parts. thanks for the help Woody
  8. Posted the same thing in the mod section . I sent you an e-mail maybe you would like to compare notes.
  9. Hi all , I am 54 years young and going through a mid life crises as so the wife says and want to build some k horns.I have a well equipped work shop and can't wait to start these puppies .So far I have the Speaker Lab plans and some metric ones from the internet .I have ordered parts from Mr Crites : cw1526c woofers , ct125 tweets ,Pd-5th mids , k-401 composites from a Klipsch supplier and the a4500 crossovers .I thought I had enough to go on but a when I study the speaker lab plans One sees the woofer board is 1 inch wider than the metric plans and since the speaker lab plans were supposed to be a good copy , who is right? The plan was to use the speaker lab plans and fine tune them to look like the original K horns with some improvements such as 3/4 ply for panels behind the woofer. One wonders if this upgrade was why the four corner blocks were clipped on the original K's and to allow for the change in volume behind the woofer. I was hoping some one else has ran into the same problem and can point me in the right direction.I have spent hours scouring the internet and find more questions than answers , so here goes : 1) has anyone compared speaker labs or the metric plans to the original K's for accuracy 2) any other better plans out there 3)also speaker lab plans a attach the woofer to a 3/4 plywood and the metric use 1/2 inch.Any one know what the originals used? It seems that most are happy in the end building the speaker lab versions as I am sure I will be , but if I need to make some changes or change course before I start would be a great help to the build. Thanks to all that may take the time to read my post and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from Marvin from the soon to be cold Saskatchewan Yep this is a winter project
  10. I am looking at a set of old lascallas( 1984 ) tommorrow that will probably need rebuilding at some point.I was wondering how we can get replacement parts here in Canada . I called today and Klipsch is closed .I was hoping someone may have had some experiance in this. thanks
  11. thanks for the response . so at any point did klipsch have two base drivers in the set?
  12. I am going to look at a pair of about 1984 lascallas and the sellers stated that they have only one bass driver in the pair and that is the way they were sold as new?? I have searched and can not find anything I have always assumed each cabinet held a tweeter , mid horn and a bass driver, can anyone point me in the right direction..
