  1. I do wonder if the Kapa 16C is realy 96db... seems Im always off by 2db with it... Tends to be 2db lower than expected.
  2. So this project is quickly coming to an end and I get to enjoy my spoils. Veering is bolted in, wire looms run and double checked. Will the levels set with pink noise the mids are 1.5db hot but sound right. I debated trying -15+2=-13 which would prob be perfect but the sound is so good I’m not interested in moving more. The AP12-500 is set at -12db down on the auto former and the tweeters are dialed back all the way. The soundstage is huge and detailed… everything I love about heritage speakers but bigger. I have to say this is the best sound I’ve ever had in my home... Really loving it. I played the audiogon presents “wake up your ears by Chesky records – Dancing flute and drum.” The bass was so intense and the you could hear the flute moving through the song… Its now my go to demo for amps or speakers.
  3. We had a ATR 1/2" Tape... Pro Real to Real... not my thing but bad *** none the less.
  4. Dave and everyone thanks a ton.i wanted to invite everyone close out but didn't want the moderators to get angry. That said, we are in room 1311. Come in and kick me in the shins and say hello. Newrecordday.com interviewed me and several journals... Fingers crossed it goes well. Chapman T5 were paired with out mono blocks... We got our hands on a VPI prime and Ralph at Sonic Studio (Amarra ) showed off what the IRC func can do to tame a terrible room and showed off Amarra for Tidal. I was never a streaming guy until the Demo... tidal is too cool. The headphones were Mr Speakers Ethers. Each day has presented new challenges but also crazy new opertunies. None have come to fruition just yet but I'll share soon. Long story short it's been an unforgettable experiences.... Big thanks to Dave ( who custom made a base for the VPI) andScott Hicks.
  5. Hope to see some friends there. Been a long week I must say but starting to get fun.
  6. Ill measure the output of the mid vs the woofer with pink noise and pad down to pretty close, then the final adjustment is made by ear.
  7. Thanks... its looks great, should sound just like my splits have. I’m already thinking about the next one :-). Dave cutting the Baffle makes the building go a lot easier and with tighter clearances... The Woofer fits like a glove... not even a 1/32 reveal. The support rig for the woofer stiffens the baffles where it counts.
  8. Its Dave Harris' Fastlaneaudio... its his horns. Thanks for the kind words.
  9. Everyone, Hope you can make it to THE Show Newport... its going to be a ton of fun. Maybe we can get a bunch of the forum members to meetup for lunch.
  10. Light at the end of the tunnel. The T-nuts installed 10-24's to secure the woofer. Foam tape on the baffled to seal the woofer to the baffle. Binding posts in, and 1st bit of the wire loom run. ALKs AP12-500, ES5800 in route... ETA thurs.
