  1. i got my stand from bobs discound furniture actually, lol it was around $300, hey guys im pretty stumped here i just got in one of my kw-120 subs and my ka-1000 amp, i hooked it all up and its making a low humming noise but thats not the biggest issue...... it doesnt really thump like it def should. i have the sw preout out of my receiver going to the sw in on the ka, then i have the monster cable from the amp to the sub. i turned down the volume of my fronts and turned the sub all the way up to +12 and it just doesnt sound the way it should perform. does anyone have any input on these subs? am i doing something wrong?
  2. my current setup.......soon to be totally redone once everything comes in right now "54 panasonic plasma 1080P RF-83's RC-52 RW-10d Integra DTR-40.1 (4) Rsx-3's SS1's (2) RB-61's PS3 Harmony one remote Sony 400 disc dvd changer (i never use it)
  3. ok, good i just wanted to make sure that i wasnt given a ( stock receiver, even tho its being traded for a diffrent one. i love new toys too, now if my new stand would come in i could set them all up and show you guys, lol i have no idea why these pictures came out so bad on the camera i just bought
  4. hey guys i was wondering what the ( on my integra receiver box means? anyone know
  5. oh, no reason to apolagize but thanks anyways. i just didnt want it to look like im the one who said it. because clearly im with you guys and loooove my rf-83's. thanks for clearin it up
  6. um....ok i guess ill just start a brand new thread for a simple little question. and why did you quote me for saying "the rf-83 cabinet is too small to produce good sound" ?? i wasnt the one who said it but you make it seem that way
  7. i know this probably isnt the right forum to ask this question but there seems to be alot of educated ppl in here. so i was wondering what you guys thought about the newer Onkyo tx-nr x007 line? im kinda set on the 3007 or the 5007. its either that or the older integra DTR-9.9 wich i can get really cheap at work (about $540) as compared to the onkyo 5007 ($1400) . so let me know if you feel the price diffrence is worth it for the extra hdmi's, extra channels, newer, ect. thanks
  8. oh dont get me wrong guys, i was never even remotley intrested in these speakers, i just emailed him to see how much of a "scam" artist he was. and to see why he was talking all of this smack about how speakers "shouldnt need a sub" and if they do there "not good speakers", ect. He made a comment to me in the email that " the rf-83 cabinets are too small to produce good sound " hahaha thats funny i thought. he said he would do a side by side demo and in 20 seconds i would never want to listen to my 83's again. so i told him to bring down his speakers to the audio store i work at, he kinda changed the subject. anyways thank you all very much for your input and also for taking the time to check out this guys post. i appreciate it much and will have photos of my system up a little after x-mas , thanks again. p.s. youthman your a very funny dude, lol
  9. hey guys i had a question about some speakers that some guy on craigslist is trying to sell, he "costom built" them and he says that they will blow away a pair of rf-83's i just wanted for you guys to take a look and see what you think. the adress to get to it is http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ele/1515327000.html or you can just go to the boston craigslist and type in pro loudspeakers, thanks
  10. what about an amp? do u think i will hear a HUGE diffrence going from the dtr-40.1(100w) to the onkyo or integra 145w? and then adding the earthquake wich is 300wpc?
  11. wow, i cant believe it was that easy, lol thanks for the info. i was gonna put a pic up tonight but its still just a work in progress. right now my setup consists of RF-83 - mains RC-52 - center SS1 - side surrounds RSX-3 - back surrounds RW-10d - subwoofer Integra DTR-40.1 - receiver Panasonic "54 plasma Sony 400 disc dvd player Sony PS3 "waiting to arrive" (hopefully on schedule) RC-64 (2) kw-120 (1) ka-1000 Earthquake cinenova 300wpc onkyo tx-nr3007 or integra dtr-9.9 (undecided) Bello avsc-2061e stand i actually have the RC-64, and the ka-1000 sitting in my bedroom right now, because my stand will not fit it. and im still undecided on new back surrounds, and possibly new sides. i will def post a pic when its all togather (subs come in the 28th, stand is the 1st, and the rest i have no idea when) unless you want to see it now, wich its actually pretty good as it is, lol i have the upgrade bug.
  12. stupid question, but how do u post pictures up here? im new to this and i have a pretty nice setup that im dying to show. someone please help, lol
  13. lol, ya that would be sick. i havn't heard the cornwalls, but id guess that they are somewhat like a "beefed up" heresy. my dream system would prob be 3 lascalas for fronts, and then 2 or 4 herseys for sides and rears. or just a straight up all lascala system
  14. the heresy's are great, i love them i work at an audio store so i get to play with them and others all day, lol fun, fun. i just got my order in...rf-83's and my rc-64 wich kick *** they are absolutly amazing and im only running them off of an integra dtr-40.1 amp(100w per channel) anyways id say that the heresy's will beat the rf-7's in my opinion but its also a diffrent sound. but i also think that the la scalas are the best in the heritage setup. so if funds allow i would def consider the lascalas. plus that way theyll be no need or want to upgrade because those rock.
  15. i absolutly love those lascala's your setup is great
  16. just curious what you guys think, wich one meshes the best with my front three? any input would be great
  17. i was wondering where you got you stand? i need something to fit the same center speaker in
  18. thanks for the input, how much did you sell your 83's for if you dont mind saying?
  19. good point, and funny too. i have checked out the emotiva, more specificly the 200wpc model. i think thats the route ill go later down the road. for now ill just use my onkyo tx-nr3007. if you dont mind me asking, why did you sell your 83's and 64? also does anybody know how the xf-48's stack up against the rf-83's? i heard the xf's at a magnolia theater and they sounded really good. will the 83's blow them away?
  20. thanks man, what were you using as a receiver before that? or is that the only amp thats been powering your 83's? also how do you like your 83's and 64? i havnt got mine yet, did you order yours? how long did it take?
  21. ya i guess your right, because it kinda helped me a little bit. sorry viggnesh, lol
  22. mabey he was a bulls*itter......he was all over the place, "i want this" "no i want that" "wait is that better than this"? make up your friggen mind, lol
  23. why didnt this guy ever post any pictures?? all that input and support and he doent even show the finished project, thats b.s. if you ask me.
  24. thanks, well i have seen those reviews and i know that both systems are more than great. im just looking to see if anyone has expierience with both systems, or if they are alot alike? well besides the size diffrence
  25. thanks for the response.......thats the problem is that not may people have heard the system. i have heard the left and right front speakers and the 2 subwoofers, and it was really good. im def getting the subs no matter what, i love them. but as for the rest im not sure. what do you have paired up with your rf-83's? i dunno i just picture the 83's as being very good music speakers (wich they are) but im kinda skeptical as for how they will be for movies. plus the ultra 2 system is what $13 grand thats gotta mean something
