  1. I can try it, but I think they are designed as low boys to mount horizontally. They would sit as shown with either a riser or legs, but on the floor.
  2. Thanks for the info guys. I thought they were scoops I guess I was wrong. I found out they are c40 cabinets built from plans bought from JBL. Anyway I really don't want to part them out and I have a guy locally offering me 900 for them. I want to get more, but the more I think about it, it is a good deal. My other option is seperating them and throwing them on ebay, but after fees and the hassle I think 900 is worth it. I really don't want to seperate them.
  3. I just scored the deal of a lifetime. Well I think so. Anyway I just bought a pair of scoop speakers with all old jbl parts. D130's, 1217-190 horns, LE 175 drivers, and N1200 crossovers. I think I am going to sell them to fund a new amp. Anyway I have a pretty good Idea of what the components are worth alone but not for the whole set of speakers in the cabinets. The cabinets were built as a kit as I also have the paper work or everything and a warranty card. I think the components are worth around 1500+. Anyway any help would be great. Before you jump on me for selling them these things are huge and I can't fit them in my place. My KG4's will have to do. Thanks in advance
  4. I hear you Dennie I don't like looking at Craigslist, but I do it to myself almost everyday. Then when I have money there is nothing to be found.
  5. I guess these we already in the alerts section. Sorry about the repost.
  6. Found a great deal for someone with money in their pocket. http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/ele/1886995726.html
  7. That thing is odd with the 12 volt firing switch. I am afaid that would cause to much distortion to the sound, as stated in that thread. Thank you very much for the info though.
  8. Can you run a speaker switching box backwards? I want to run two amps to one set of speakers without switching cables all the time.
  9. Do you have the music the kids want to hear? I guess your daughters ipod would do.
  10. If I were to go with a old Marantz, how much up keep, or repairs do they require. I most likely could do it myself, but when I want to come home and enjoy music and a cocktail, I don't want to be trouble shooting my system. I am looking at a Marantz 2252B.
  11. I am no audiophile, will I even hear a difference from the technics amp I am running now. If I do upgrade I don't plan on getting rid of the technics, so If I want to get into HT I still can. Also I am a craigslist nut, but don't really know which vintage stuff to look for, and it is hard to root through the huge amount of postings when you live in a highly populated area.
  12. Let me clairify a little. I am running the KGs hooked up to my tv also, but only as stereo not as a surround sound set up.
  13. I am definetly staying two channel for a long time. I rarely even turn on my tv, let alone watch movies. I also think if I were to go anywhere it would be to Heresy's, Fortes, La scalas or something along those lines. I am interested in tube amps, but thought I would hold off on that for a while.
  14. Hello everyone, Like many people I have been stuck in Ipod land for quite some time. I have been listening to music through my Ipod, crappy computer speakers, and half *** Ipod docks for some time now. I just recently got a set of KG4s, and I am in love. I know they are not the best, but having garbage before they sound amazing. I just got a set of Crite titanium tweeters, but can't install them until xmas. Anyway, I am running a technics SA-DA8 amplifier(only running 2 channels). I feel like I could use something better, and have been looking into two different amps. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to audio, so I think I could use some help. Also I know this sounds bad, but this is going to be my center piece of my living room, so looks have a little to do with it. Thanks in advance. 1.
