anybody notice taht the klipsch 5.1 satellites doesn't have the little buble on thier speaker cone, unlike teh previuos promedia's what's the pupose of the little bubble anyways? ------------------ bass beats melody

i need your expertise. i'm doing a physics project on speakers and sound. so far i know that speakers work by receiving electrical impulses and those electrical impulses go through this little metal wire coil in the middle of the speaker. that coil then turns into a sort of electromagnet and it forced to move up and down because it is in a magnetic field from the speaker. how does the movement of the cone make sound? how does a tweeter make sound compared to a subwoofer? what does the two wires that connect to the cone do? what does ohms have to do with speakers i don't quite understand that? how does an amplifier work? i keep on hearing that the amplifier lets you play music louder without distortion what causes distortion? i disected an old small speaker it says 8 ohms and .5 watts what the ohms have to do with teh speaker i know that wattage has to do with power right? what is hertz and frequency is it just pitch or something? what does the sound pressure level mean? thanks for helping me out. this is for my physics science fari project. mush help is needed any info you have of anything that comes to mind will help so please type on..... thanks (i would never dare touch my 4.1 for this project) ------------------ bass beats melody

that is a small issue with promedias from what i've been reading i read some where on the boards where you can get rid of crackling noise due to turning the VOL. knob some guy just twisted/ turned up & down the VOL. knob hundred(alot) times its like the metal doesn't get good contact. i get that sometimes too but i've been way to lazy to try what the guy did, i just figure that constant use of the VOL. knob will do it for me. but don't worry its not a serious problem ------------------ bass beats melody

now i'm pretty sure i never had that problem with me, i also have a 4.1 got em the couple days after it went on sale. but anyways i never had my sub overheat before it was always warm to the touch but never hot. i would suggest not to open the sub, might ruin your waranty. i've had my pro's around 40-60% with main and wave volume up 100% it was loud but never got as hot as you have yours. go ask Amy or e-mail her, she would know what to do. but don't open up the sub or anything like that, that would void your warranty it.

yeah hey i ran into the same problem as you too!!! i didn't see no switch... i don't think i did anyhting too it after i plugged everything switched on the power and the pc no sound i was baffled too but after switching the pc back on again still no sound i was like hmm... what's happening here.. then i tried again some how sound started coming out of it hehe so i don't know how i got them to play with out the "so called switch" in the manual but its playing right now. sory i oculd be of any help. if only i could remember... just letting you know that your not the only one that had taht problem.

i read a review of the videologic digitheatre DTS and it seemed really good. are they on the as the klipsch 4.1 or do they suck. i've read on thier mesasge board where a person posted "The DigiTheatre will blow the ProMedias away, less watts or no. Audax cones are very effecient, and can do amazing things with much less power. Plus they don't have those awful awful horn loaded tweaters (that is 100% my opinion, but I hate horn tweats)." i never even heard of Audux until now, are Audux speakers really good? i've got the klipsch 4.1 6 days after it was put on sale on the klipsch website (the 5 days between the ordering and the delivery of the speakers was hellish, i couldn't even think of anythingelse but klipsch klipsch klipsch, i couldn't focus on anything else). the sound from the promedias are beautiful. trust me going from living with 1/2 watt e-machine stock speakers to the promedias is quite shocking. oh yeah a couple more questions. it look like i have 2 subs so does that mean i have 80 watts going to each sub or do i have 160 watt going to each sub? i knew at this sound stuff please excuse my stupidity. my friend has a ps2 and i was wondering how i can connect my promedias to his ps2 because i saw it somewhere in the manual where it said you could connect the promedias to gaming consoles. thanks for your help!
