Im worried about hiss when movies are playing. At med to high volumes there is a noticible hiss coming from the speakers. Ever watch VHS tape loud? You get that same hiss when i watch my movies. Braveheart is unwatchable, hissssssssssssssssss. Sixth sense same thing. When nothing is coming trough a channel there is a hiss. Is it just the source DVDs that are doing it? I dont believe its a faulty unit, my onkyo 575 and my first receiver an Aiwa pro logic had hiss too. I took the onkyo back, too much hiss. got the Yamaha without listening to it, well it has hiss too. Too bad, the onyko sounded better even with all the hiss. Its always had the hiss, i was in a bigger room though so i did not hear it as much. Braveheart is the worst. Man does it sound bad. Its unbearable. The hiss is just to bad. Must destroy my 595a. What a piece of garbage. Hissssssssssssssssssssss, hissssssssssssssssssss. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Hiss, muffled center channel and low power makes my yammie a piece of ****. Yeah its two years old but damn! It really sucks because i love my klipsch speakers, but they wont get to be used for a few months while i save up to get a Marantz. When i cant watch a movie without HIssssss coming out of every channel its time to give it up. I swear it all i hear!!! Sorry, i havent got it yet. Definitly next month! I also have been looking at the denon 3801. The reason is i can adjust the treble in the center channel, at least i think i can. My yamaha center channel needs more treble. I had an onkyo once that gave clean crisp dialogue, none of that muffled sounding voice. I have had 4 center speakers, a KLH, a Infinity, a cerwin vega and now my Klipsch sc.5. Its by far the best center i have had, but the same muffled sound that i got with all the others. Never had that problem with the Oknyo.

The enclosed diagram is the layout of my room and speakers. As you all can see, its very small. The question i have is the placement of my ss.5's. I have them 6 feet up the wall. Would i be better off placing them on the rear wall? For a room this small would the ksw-12 be too much?

The 24" speaker stands for $55 look like a steal. All items made in USA which is very rare these days. There not open till june, but i plan to try them out as soon as they can fill orders. Will post update if its any good.

go with two SB-3's for front left and right, an SC-1 center. two ss-1's for rear left and right and the ksw-12 for the sub. The ksw 10 is kinda weak.

My sc .5 sounds awsome on some movies and others sounds like hell. I realize it needs time to break in so i will save my judgement for later. God i hope i didnt buy a shty center. My receiver sucks *** which i mostly the problem. My Yammie has always had trouble with the center channel sounding flat and muddled . I had an onkyo once that had very crisp sounding dialog. Cant wait for my marantz sr 8000. Bet that will clear most of the problem up.

Try the SC.5 center and the SS.5 surrounds. I paid 160+tax for the center and will pay 200 for the surrounds.

I have a Zenith 27" something. It was made in 1997. Found it in a pawn shop for 189.00. I has picture in picture, and the colors are excellent. Its in very good condition, it just has trouble with my new center. Never had trouble with my crappy but 3x the size cerwin vega center. That sucker was huge, never moved my picture once.
