  1. I never said I have no other option, I said I may. Sorry I guess I didnt make that clear.

I think that having a direct firing sub, right in the center would yield great sound?

If u have no other option then I think u have made your decision.

  2. I get that, but since space is limited, and I cant mount this huge sub in my wall, I may have no option.

I have seen many home theatre's with tv's on top of centers, speakers on top of subs, and subs used as end tables. That said I would never put anything on top of my subs. Just personal preference

  3. I am going to try to place my center, on top of my sub. Any thoughts??? I will be using a heresey center, and a RSW-15 sub. I plan on using a thick rubber mat to go between the sub and center.

    Anyone have any input???

  4. There is apparently a guy in Ft Lauderdale that did some very good work for a forum member (fenderbender), Give me a call and I'll give you FB's number.

What should I call you, sally, susan?? Personally I like sally,,,,,, yah I think Ill use sally.

  5. Thanks sivadselim, that's a really cool feature!

The only problem I have is the auto on. My old sub 12 would turn on even in the lowest volume settings. But this new sub requires a higher volume/bass to turn on. I guess I can turn up the sub out level on the yammie, then turn down the sub level VIA the side level control.

  6. Way to go. Is that the one from Tampa?

Yeah boy! Well dude was like a minute from westly chapel! He said he has the grill somewhere, and hopefully he remembers me when he finds it. (20 years from now!)

Yes, do as you did before. If no way to completely turn off crossover on sub, set to highest frequency.

Yah on this sub, there is an acutal switch to bypass the internal crossover.

I have my RSW-10d's active driver pulled out from the wall about 10 inches. Maybe the big 15 needs a couple more inches to breath.

I have it about a foot right now, will play some more tmw!

If you are talking corner placement, listen for unwanted boominess. More bass but usually not as accurate as front placement way off side wall.

Well I meant if I had the rear away from the wall 12", would the side distance matter that much? Its prob like 5" right now.

  7. Schu,

How do you like your KLF-10s? I would love to find a pair for my bedroom and put my tangents in the garage. I miss my KLF-30's!

IF you have the right amp and setup, those CW's should pound really nicely! I had some CW's hooked up to my dads old JVC JR-S600 and it rocked our backyard party!!!

  8. Well I was finally able to get this beast and I love it!

A question on setting this up, on my old sub I set the crossover on the sub to the highest point to turn it off (bypass the crossover), and used the yammies onboard crossover. Should I follow this theory or am I doing this wrong? Also how far away should the rear active sub be from the wall is ideal?? I dont think the side to wall distance is very important, is it??

  9. Unless someone had some khorns to trade me, ill never let those belles go! I really want to build a horn sub, and find a sister to the belles for the center. I think that would be more flexible as far as placement then khorns. You could have the belles in almost any setup, compared to the khorns in the corners. And with the right sub ill be happy!

  10. The goal is to enjoy music on the belles! Instead of running to my turntable setup in my bedroom! Im sure the sub I want to get will help out for music. I just wanted to avoid using a sub to enjoy music you know? I think the room placement prohibits me from fully enjoying the belles, so a sub may be needed for now to enjoy it. I can't wait to move out!

I plan on doing the crossovers after I find a better sub.

  11. My goal is to get the belles sounding good on their own for music, without the use of a sub. I am looking forward to replacing the crossovers to see if this helps. Of course if I am playing some hip hop or watching a concert, I will have the subs on. I will have to look for a amp next, since I won't have the Mitsubishi for long, as it is going to my fathers house.

  12. Thats my point! I want to listen to music on the belles and enjoy it! I have subs for the ht, will improve on that later. I just want to improve on the low end of the belles so I can enjoy music again without adding a subwoofer in the mix!

Would rebuilding the crossovers, or just upgrading them solve this for me?
