  1. Everything looks killer! I'm constructing a very large HT room and will use the biggest TV made when I'm ready to install, but am going to rough in wire drop for a projector if I ever change my mind. How far back from front wall is your projector wire drop? How did you figure for a 100" screen? room dimensions are gonna be about 23'Long X 19' Wide X 10-12' vaulted celings. Powered by RF-63 fronts, RC-64II center, RT-12D woof, RS-62 Surrounds, RB-81 rears, B&K 200Wx7 Ref. II THX2 Ultra Cert. Amp, with integra DHC 40.2 AVR. I've read a million pages seems like, can't pin down distance by dimensions of screen, any resourses you used? Thanks. You are gnna rock your neighbors....ha ha, if the musics too loud your'e too old!
  2. nah, I probably won't screw with my Klipsch', after reading the replies, I kinda think Mr. Paul knew his shi%, after all, I think he set the standard in the 40's.....heck, I haven't even set my system up yet....I just stare at them boxes, waitin' to build my mancave. I just read it and wondered if it truly is a problem at all, y'all would have known about it already. I think the best thing is to set up everything EQ, a fatty and dig in...thanks for the info as always.... WFO1955
  3. Hey Chris, thanks a lot for explaining that, now it makes sense and I have some direction to go by. WFO1955
  4. Okay, to start off with, I'm a dumb as*....flunked math. I don't understand the 1.x1.26x1.59. ratio mumbo jumbo. What do you multiply these by? Here is my situation:...gotta' 40'x40'x14' walls to 16' center ceiling metal building=garage. Here is my 7.1 system: Rf-63's, (couldn't afford the RF-83's) RC-64II, RT-12D, RS-62's and RB-81's. B&K Ref. II 7270 200wx7 amp, with an Integra DHC-40.2( pre/AV. Essentially, I can construct any size room that will be accoustically representative of a kick-butt HT/Audio mancave. Gonna use a 65" or larger LED LCD TV on the wall. I figure about 6-8' away from the TV, and about 10-12' fro the second row(raised 12" floor to view over front row). All components are gonna be racked on each side of the TV. Since it is a metal building, I'm gonna stud up 6" walls, then(believe it or not) 8"x16" concrete walls, then either 6" or 12" studded interior walls. The concrete walls are for security, (I'm anal about theft, gonna have a gunsafe inside). Considering the racks and front speakers extend out 4-5' I I help to tell me how wide, how deep and how tall the cave should be. (I was thinkin' 'bout 20' wide and around 23'5" Long and 12'5" vaulted ceilings). I also need to know if vaulted ceilings are recommended. I've done a little research on accoustic ecoutrements, but thats down the road. Please don't tell me to hire it done by a HT group, gotta save where I can. As always, appreciate help from those that know....I'm scared as hell! WFO1955
  5. I read in another forum that an audiophile dude that has 7 channel system with klipsch' speakers. It was either a monthly newsletter from Home Theatre Magazine or Monthly Audiophile Magazine. Beside the Klipsch' he had a 200w amp and an otherwise good preamp and other neat stuff. He stated that he had a problem with his RC 64II. A blog from several members stated that THX recommends installing a poly-batting, similar to pillow material behind the speakers n the cabinet. Not tight, but simply packing the batting surrounding the rear of the speakers. He didn't say how many hours the speakers had been used, nor any real problems, but that the speaker system just wasn't emitting great dialogue/punch. Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone DONE this and what were the results.
  6. You're right, looks like I made a deal on a bk amp, actually I bought both.
  7. thanks, I kinda figured that was "for sale" items....
  8. email me with quote here or at wfogfy@yahoo.com
  9. right on, where and how much?
  10. Does anyone know if the SW series woofers are made in china? I'm considering the sw-311, any comments, likes, dislikes. I really wanted to find an rt 12d, but can't. Thanks.
  11. Would like to hear some comments/opinions likes or dislikes about this sub. I'm considering it, can't find a Rt12d. Have RC 64, Rf63's, RS 62's will have 145 AV receiver and 5 channel 200w amp.
  12. right on, i kinda dig the corner design, think i'll try and get the rt12d, if i can get one fairly reasonable. Wow 18" hope you live at the end of a long road!
  13. thanks guys....I see your point, with all the speakers I am going to use, rears may not be needed, I can always add them later if needed, but I think my system will rock and make movies come alive. Thanks for the recommendations for the amps. I will consider all of them, don't want to tax my AV receiver and burn it up or clip my speakers. One more queston if I may, Klipsch says for a rf-63 system, I should use the rt-10d Sub. Could I or should I upgrade that to a 12"? or stay with their designed system? Thanks again for all of your quick replies, dig this forum.
  14. yeah, the klipsch design for my rf-63's are rb-81 rears. I'm bummed about having to buy a separate amp. I'm figuring on $1800.00 for the receiver, got any newer amps in mind that you could recommend?
  15. I got RF-63 fronts, RS-62 sides, gonna get rt12-d Sub and rc-64 center. What in the heck would be better for the rears, rf-62's, rf-52's or RB-81's? Going to use a 9.2 145 av receiver. Thanks, mang.
  16. hadn't been here in a long time, need some help. Got RF-63's front, gonna get RC-64, RS-62 Surrounds and a RT-10d Sub. I anticipate putting the r-5502-w's about 7' high. My question is; can I mix-match the two diffrent series speakers with a 145w AV receiver and have a kick *** ht system? Opinions? experience? Also, got a pair of 1980 Heresy HBR's. All the resistence specifications are within limits, damn near perfect. Can't check the E2 crossover, don't have the equipment. One has two dents on top-rear edge, otherwise they are in bitchen condition. Looks like the back panel has never been open, cones are tight too. $300.00 plus shipping from 87901, probably $100.00 ups/fedex. Don't give me any crap about questions vs a sell plug.... Oh yeah; one more question; if I don't sell the Heresy's, could/would I should use them for surrounds instead of the RS-62's? Now you can give me all the crap ya' want, go ahead....
  17. Would love to hear from any and all that have this av receiver and what system its pushing. I am considering it for my home theatre system. Rf-63's front L&R, Heresy 1980 surrounds and R-5502-W rears; going for the rc-64 front. I haven't considered a sub just yet. "if the music is too loud, you're too old"
  18. Gents, I am bulding a HT system: RF-63's Front L&R, Heresy's (1980's) Surrounds, R-5502-W in-wall rears, gonna use RC-64 front center. Probably going to buy an Onkyo TX-NR5007 (145W 9.2 AV Surround) Now the question: After reading Klipsch's discussion about bi-wiring and bi-amplification, I am Freakin' confused. Since I am going to use just the ONE amp, which wiring should I use? For some reason, I am inclined to use just the two conductor wire and leave the straps on the rear of the RF-63's. Any and all please chime in, don't want to screw up the amp or speakers. I plan on using 12 gauge oxygen-free, billions of strands pure copper....I have some long runs, maybe 35' being the longest. Gonna also use the same distance wire bundle to each speaker. Thanks.
  19. Thanks for the reply....another question....with my non-thx speakers, could I use a thx av receiver? I am looking at the Onkyo TX-NR5007 9.2 channel AV THX Ultra2 HT Receiver(145w). Any adverse issues with this amp? BTW, I am trading up from the rears r-3650-w to the r-5502-w (75w-130 amp ecommended.) Thanks again for the advice
  20. I am slowly purchasing HT components, a pair at a time. Currently, I have no amp. I have rf-63's, 1980's Heresy's and r-3650-w rears. Since it would appear that I need a large integrated AV amp of 150-200w, the 3650's probably can't handle the power, true?. I am looking at the r-5502-w's, which has a recommended power amp of 130w. Can anyone chime in on their pros and cons. Are these considered "reference" speakers and in keeping with Klipsch's recommendation should I only use "reference" speakers? According to Klipsch, everytime I think I have found a speaker system, they say for example that THX architectural speakers should be matched with other THX components, true? I know, clear as mud. Simply put, can I mix reference speakers with THX speakers? Thanks, all y'all always give great advice.
  21. New to the forum; awesome...question, just bought some Klipsch Rf-63's from sound distributors, one woofer in each tower has small dimples or dents in them, will this affect the quality of sound or life of the woofer? Next queston. Haven't bought an amp, have R-3650-W rears, 1980's heresy's for surround; plan to purchase rc-64 center. Can I mix these SS speakers with originally designed tube amp speakers (Heresy's) on a new 200w 7.1 amp? Anyone please chime in, I don't want to make serious mistake and spend big bucks only to have to change equipment. I know, I haven't zeroed in on an amp yet, any suggestions. Whew, hope I don't run any y'all off, thanks though for any help....
