  1. I have a large room and I'm using the 61's as the left and right fronts... I'm pairing them with a JBL sub and the rc-52 in the center.... I've been very pleased with the performance.... I will say that I upgraded from a thrown together speaker setup but again I've been pleased with this setup...
  2. Kind of a long story cowboy. The lady that built owned and built our house, her first husband died. When she remarried her husband was into designing and building.. So he designed this barn shaped room that became the master bedroom. It is right at 1000sq ft. Part of that is a bathroom area and huge walk in closet. There is also a loft in the room. We have had a projector now for a little over a year and we project onto one of the side runs of the ceiling. Not exactly sure how big the image is but works well for the theater room in our place...
  3. The room looks awesome Youthman..... I'm new to the forum here but wanted to add a comment....I think the 7.1 discussion may depend a little on room size as well....Our HDT is actually our master bedroom..IT was an addition onto our house (before we bought the place). It rates around 1000 sq ft with very high ceilings.... I've purchased the RC 52 and am waiting on the RB 61's (should be here next week). I have been using just some mix and match speakers so I'm looking forward to some matching sounds..hah... My surrounds right now are a little high as well but what I've discovered is that the 4 surround speakers help fill this big room with sound.... The few Blu Rays that we have that are 7.1 capable are pretty awesome with all of the speakers firing and I can't wait to get surrounds that will match my fronts.... thanks for letting me chime in...
  4. It is a bedroom setup and actually is our main HT simply because of the size of the image we can project on the wall.....It's usually just my wife and I but every now and then we have some company over to watch a flick.....The room is rated about 1000sq ft and the ceiling is very high...The RC52 is mounted in the center right under the viewed image....I've had it a couple months and find that it is plenty loud....I have been using some old Fisher floor speakers that I had with an old stereo system (I use these for the left/right fronts...)..My sub is a JBL 10" bottom and front firing sub....It sits on the floor a little to the left of center below the viewing area....I have been very pleased with the bass....As I do things I may try and move it a little closer just to see if I can tell a difference... We do like the volume of movies and such to be at a good level....Most of the time I only have the Onkyo pushing at about mid range of volume (is that excessive??) I may try and latch onto these RB61's and try them out in the front.... If I find they don't do well there then I may move them to the rear and use them as my rear surrounds..... thanks again for your advice and input....just trying to make some good choices....
  5. Thanks for the info CECAA... what's your opinion of that setup and having the fronts hanging on the same level as the center as opposed to the floorstanding right and left fronts??? thanks again...
  6. Thanks for the quick replies...and I appreciate both....I've been looking this morning at the RB 61's and am thinking that if I go with something like that then it will allow me to hang these on the same "plane" as my center channel and prevent what you are talking about CECAA... Wondering how they will pair with the rc 52?? Also what about the rs 42's or 52's as surrounds?? thanks again...
  7. Hello everyone I'm new to the forum here but looking forward to reading and posting. I'm wanting to upgrade my speakers that I'm using in my Home Theatre system. I am using the Onkyo txr705, PS3, and Dish HD dvr for the sources. My speakers are a thrown together mix from some old stereos and stuff from around the house. I recently purchased a Klipsch rc52 for the center channel and I'm loving it. All of this is in our master bedroom which is about 1000sq. ft. The main listening and viewing point is about 30 feet from the screen. We are projecting to one of the angled ceiling areas in the barn shaped room. The rc 52 is hanging about 8-9 ft from the floor and angled down a bit to the listening area. I'm thinking of either going with the rs42's or rs 52's for my side surround speakers (any ideas which would better suit the needs here?) Also I'm wondering about the left and right front speakers. I've been looking at the rf 52's, or rf 82's as tower speakers for the front. THe problem is going to be getting them the same distance apart from the center on the floor. Would I perhaps be better to look for a couple of speakers to hang on the wall at the same level as the center channel? We use this to mainly watch movies but we do listen to some music here as well.... any ideas, advice, opinions would be greatly appreciated.
